The Bond equip. The ones i saw when younger had the Villiers twin 2T engine 250cc. However that engine you have is the 4T. A much more powerful engine than the 2T. It had better transfer ports. The early Bonds as you say you pushed backwards. The later ones has 2 sets of ignition points & a switch that reversed the polarity of the battery & switched over the points , Then the engine would start backwards. This also gave you 4 gears in reverse if you dare.

I will always remember my first car , a 1969 Reliant Regal saloon 21E in metallic blue which met its end when a car pulled out of a junction. I don’t even have a photo of it but it was very reliable.

Great stuff Lewi, great to see you back !.I assume the engine is the venerable Villiers 2T , as fiited to many Briish 2 stroke motorcycles, like the Ambassador Super S I owned and went rather well !.I assume the Bond as the engine that turns with the steering front wheel ?.
