Yeah, I’m not 100% sure if the amphibian possession laws in NJ, but if you can get captive bred legally, you should check out Indoor Ecosystems. One of the best and where I’ve gotten many quality animals

Sorry for the late reply. I really kind of just come upon them when hiking. At this point, I know where there are seasonal pools since I’ve hiked the same areas for years. Really what you are looking for is where water pools and the absence of fish. The pools will dry up in summer and re-appear late winter / early spring
