You can always tell a good plasterer who takes pride in his work as he thinks of the tradesman coming behind him. And most plasterers I've encountered leave a mess and doing so is not respect or professional. So you Sir are one of the few a master of your trade👍
@staceyprentice5075

An old plasterer I know used to keep some of his dirty water for the end of the day. The final mix he'd pour in the dirty water to make the plaster go off quickly so he could finish off and get to the pub. An old experienced plasterers trick, he'd been a plasterer from the age of 15 until he retired at 67.

So many positives here. 'On The Trowel' is setting a great example for great quality workmanship, and consideration for other trades. Having been a snagger and handyman, back in the day, I can say that what he makes look easy to do, really really isn't easy to do. It takes years of hard earned pactice and dedication to become this good. The ability to share that skill and the wealth of knowledge and learning behind it, so good. Really appreciating this 🙂

I'm a carpenter in Ireland and I've just spent over 2 hrs watching your videos. Fair play to you for the generosity of your knowledge and the sharing of it. Tradesmen, for some reason, can be notoriously cagey about passing on all the little things that they've picked up over the years.. I thoroughly enjoyed your attention to detail. And glad to know that im not the only saddo who likes to read a good technical spec..

It's nice to see a plasterer that cares about following trades. Fitting skirting boards to newly plastered walls that are way shy of the floors and having to pack them out, not to mention the plaster flaring out at the bottom like a ski ramp. If some plasterers had to fit them they'd soon mend their ways, but they don't have to so they won't bother.

It’s a common theme with all trades, I’m a plasterer and decorator, electricians and plumbers ruin walls and ceilings, plasterers leave mess everywhere and make life difficult for chippies, chippies do shit work and finally us decorators come along and have to fix it all. Such is life

Nice to see a fellow spread 2 coating, not cadge 1 coat. 1 tip from me bud and I've been doing it 25 year nearly now aswell. Even with the half time in bud flattering the first coat with the speedskim leaves whole job better and gives an extra 10 mins to washout at the end when on your todd.

You may have already done this... I'm doing up a house in Toxteth and taking the old skirting off the bottom of the 100 year old wall work is crumbling. The rest of the wall feels solid, I'd love to see how you'd tackle filling in the gap left to the brickwork. I think I've done it right as it feels solid and the new skirting hasn't come off (yet).
