When I was younger I just decided that no matter what, Bling’s verses were trash. Now that I’m older I realize he deff did pop off, and that he could’ve won if not for Truth exposing him in that second verse

Weak like 7 days is such an ordinary, elementary bar, could make something like that up in under a minute. It’s sad people were impressed by that bar. The rentahomie bar wasn’t bad tho
Some people forget about Let It Shine...but not us. This movie just proved that rap can be done without any swearing, cursing or derogatory language. Like this was a 2012 Disney movie and it’s got more heart than a lot of movies out there nowadays. Incredible👏🏾
I actually really really like rap as a genre but I'm too freaked out to try and go look for any good music cause I dont wanna hear something derogatory either you know? This is like the one thing I know of without derogatory stuff in it but if you had any music recommendations that's like in this movie I'd really appreciate it.

I always find it funny how Truth's dad was so strict the whole movie about going to the club and stuff, and only approved of Truth's rap when he found out it had wholesome messages, and now he's straight up screaming "GET HIM!" and approving his roasts
Yeah Bling had some decent disses for his first verse but Truth's word play was crazy. He was rhyming things that needed to be paired for half of his verse and then the second half of his verse he was rhyming basically was saying bye you are nothing in other languages. That first truth verse is ultra solid
The first verse was pretty much warning Bling for the second one while also dissing his rapping skills haha. I thought it was clever. Truth knew that the battle was over before it started.
I mean disney actually used to be mature back then before all this shit showed up. Almost anything that was on there had a little peak of actualy PG 13 or 14 in there but now its just purposefully there cause it "makes people laugh when theu almost curse or replace the curse word with something else". I love that they managed to make a hip-hop movie that kept the essence of rap without watering it down, but it was wholesome. Every black child should watch this movies
Memorized the entire rap battle in 5th grade and some kid was singing it to his friends pretending he wrote reading off a script then I finished the verse by memory and he slapped me 💀
