i agree about the michael jackson thing. looking contemporaneously though, this was apparently released in 2010, and he died in 2009, so it may have been a sort of tribute (and i don’t how long the interval was between him dying and this being put together), so keep that in mind. i thought it was sort of nice that they did the edit with him singing from the original with janet jackson singing “next” to him in this version in the other frame. but i totally agree and thought the same thing when i saw him edited in and how they cobbled some of these clips together, which happened a little in the original, but honestly the original was partially so great because they were all together, although i admit they did do that for part of this as well. anyway, you can never really beat the og classic, and it was so special when it was done then. remakes are hardly ever as good.

not really because the first one was a serious cultural phenomenon at the time and was much more meaningful. i recommend you (or anyone) watch the somewhat recent documentary on it if you weren’t around then or even if you were.
