I'm starting my palm swell journey! Basically where you take a different piece of wood and glue them onto a handle to increase the thickness where your hand is. "Swelling of the palm." I love working with exotic hardwoods like Purpleheart and others! They can create and gorgeous looking but also STRONG handle. Let me know if y'all wanna see more of this! It's what I love doing. 🤗 (Also, I just love creating. So stay tuned for more build videos as well! Aka a hillbilly hot tub, briquette maker)
Enjoy!

Wow these turned out great! I would like to see more of the tooling displayed. Timelapses are cool, but it also interesting to see up close what is happening. 🤙🏻

This long form video was quite enjoyable! Very informative and well done. Axe looks great, and it's a nice change from the short videos

You being excited about the oiling and seeing the vibrant color of the wood made me smile and I now have a new interest in wood and woodworking as well as axes so thank you.

I have absolutely zero interest in axes.... but man, it is just good to see a craftsman with such enthusiasm at work! Not sure why RU-vid recommended, but it was enjoyable to watch :)

Watching you doing wood working reminds me of when I was a kid watching my dad 😌 Fun 👏🏼👏🏼 Your enthusiasm is endearing too ☺️ I find if difficult to let go of my finished product when I do crafting as well. 😂 Oh! Love the glove sander 👍🏼 Genius.

Great video and beautiful handle Jake! I think that showing more of the actual work and talking would be great.

I like this mix of time lapse and detail. Nick Zammeti also has a good mix of time lapse and detail with his projects. I started watching your hair videos, and have enjoyed your ax shorts. I like this too, ill watch more if you make them. Basically, you're really fun to watch when you're having a good time, so keep showing us your hobbies, it doesn't have to be one specific thing necessarily.

By the way, a tiny pinch of salt in a glue up after the glue will add a slight bit of grit to prevent it from sliding

That axe is absolutely beautiful. Loved you back in your hair days, and now you are with me during my woodcraft years! Do I detect the influence of some of those 'sexy' chef vids i've noticed recently? Dough fondlers? lol. Keep up the excellent work.

I think there may be an interest in both, time lapse & long how-to videos. 🤔 Lots of people go to RU-vid for how-to videos. It also gets comments going and people asking questions, etc. Also kinda would vibe with people how enjoy ASMR. Kinda like "This Old House" or watching old cooking shows etc, timeless, I think.

I just love watching you! Do I know about axes… absolutely not. Have I even used an axe, absolutely not. Lol but I do enjoy watching you learn and entertain yourself!! Keep up the amazing work!! Don’t ever doubt your channel, we just love watching you, do you! And anything that makes you happy and makes you laugh!! Love watching you and Molly together as well. You are always such a good sport! Thanks for teaching us and making us all laugh! ❤️

I’m not sure if you did it but when you glue up and have put the 2 faces together there are air bubbles in the glue so wiggle the timber with some pressure and that will make sure the faces are glued to eachother instead of having 2 bits of timber with some glue in the middle

Came to your channel for the hair, stayed for the axes. Not a transition I expected, tbh, but i just so happen to like hair/makeup AND woodworking, so it fits, I suppose! I will miss the hair stuff (although I do see it when you're on Molly's channel) but ya gotta do what makes you happy. I would like to recommend you use hearing protection. I have tinnitus and it suuuuuuucks

@darlagraham7934

@Voicesofjake that sucks! Mine was later in life due to being around large machines and power tools, which is why I worry when I see people using tools without hearing protection. 🤗
