really all you need is a pump, then cast firemind foresight, then GG. thats why i love vadrik, he's arguably the simplest spellslinger

I don't use extra turns for mine and I've won a few "cEDH" games with it, it typically wins on turn 2 or 3. "Water Wings" is a hidden gem. It makes Vadrik 4/4 base power & toughness and gives him Hexproof for 1U (basically just 1 blue because Vadrik will be your target, therefore he is in play reducing it's cost)

I guess I do have a question, how does the 10 less to cast work on an X Mana cost card. I was told you weren't able to use the reduction as payment to the X cost on a card. 10 would be what you don't have to pay, not what has been paid? Just curious, its been a bit of a debate in my Home games :D, other than that, awesome vid.

X is a variable that is chosen when you cast the spell. I cast Fireball where X = 15, for a total of 16 mana (15 generic, 1 red). Vadrik reduces the mana I need to put into the spell by his power. In your example, that would be 10. So I still need to pay 6 mana for it. The problem comes in when you have something like Omniscience. Effects that say "Pay without mana" make X=0. But cost reduction effects work very well with X spells.

His reduction works with "buyback" and you can pay buyback costs with cards cast from other locations other than your hand and it will return to your hand after it resolves, unless it specifies that it gets exiled as a result of casting it. His reduction also works with flashback.

Vadrik Is my favorite spellslinger deck, my build runs closer to storm and is a total blast as people never see it coming

I feel the same way. Would much rather smoke everyone (or get smoked) in the same turn and move on. Aways more memorable when the group goes down together 🤙🏼
