Right on! I love seeing walkthrough vids from a static point of view vs preset song, over-post-production, long list of gear used that is not shown or listed. Rock on brother!
Great demo! I like the fact that you can create 3 presets to switch between quickly. I also like how the levels are represented with lights - way easier than twiddling knobs on a dark stage!
Great demo! I’ve spent the last few evenings exploring my Adam, I’m impressed with it so far. Just hoping Darkglass gets around to adding more features to the app, would love to be able to change settings (and hopefully save/load presets). I think my fav preset so far is distortion #4 with the vintage IR (#5), with drive, character, and blend turned fairly low.
Happy new year! But more i hear this Pedal, the more i love the combo X Ultra+Hyperluminal (saving for Harmonic Booster). Anyway The Adam It's a very great deal,Just not my Cup of tea.X Ultra it's cleaner and i can save Easy some Low frequiencies, without the Blend knob. Just my 2 cent. Great review, very accurate!
After 2 years and the release of Photon and Infinity..i change my mind with ONLY infinity!Oh man..what an upgrade! Good Adam now with Chorus, but to fuzzier for me. Photon Is Better, but i really care only on the "Studio Setting" so for me,was an Easy choice! Omg Vintage with X tecnologic...what a Dream! I Hope an update for the FX Loop, maybe using the dual Left+right output tò "transform" in Send-Return maybe! Love your review,Always thank you!
Incredible in-depth review! One thing is that I wish the blend knob wasn’t dimed, I don’t think most people do that anyway. Nonetheless, excellent job and I’m thankful for videos like these. Thinking of returning my Boss GT-1000core and getting the ADAM instead.
Thank You!! I only dimed it to REALLY show off the distortion side of things - when I dialled in the preset later on I, as you probably saw rolled it back :) Thank you for watching and for the comment - means A LOT! :)
Erik, this is a great, detailed demo. My only confusion is how the tuner works; I see green is in tune but there’s a lot going on. It’s probably common sense but it’s a feature that I can’t fully grasp. Cheers 🍻
Thanks for the in depth review. I was thinking about getting one but the lack of fx loop and I was hoping for some more amp like tones means I'll probably stick with my Vintage Ultra.
thank you for taking the time to do this demo a lot of insight. one question if I was running it to amp head that has a pre amp should i just run it to the return and plug the guitar into the Adam input or just go direct to the front of the amp head?
I got this pedal a few weeks back. Awesome device with many possibilities, congrats to Darkglass for this creation. BUT, I'm struggling to get a tight punchy distortion without a fuzzy character. The closest I'm getting is with overdrive 2. Any ideas? Thanks :)
Hmmm.. do you have the noise gate engaged? (Controlled in the DG-app) Also, consider placing the Cab after the entire signal chain and not just on the distortion (also controlled in the app) Thirdly, make sure to play around with the character knob - it really helps when it comes to the tone shaping IMHO ;)
great review dude! in depth and engaging! But can i request something? A demo using a bass with modern pickups and preamp? Unfortunatelly the more attackie sounds out there seem to be done with dingwalls. you got some gnarly tones in the past with other products! cheers dude!
@@erikarko hey dude! I've seen that one. Unfortunatelly for my years his demo sounded more towards the heavy fuzz tones. The idea is that that, from what i've seen and heard, the most agresive tones you cand get with this unit, can be achieved only Dingwalls due to their unique sound (regardless of active or passive settings). Im referring to that clanky high-ish distorted tone that Adam gets. Now I know that everyone will get a different tone depending on many setups and settings on their basses. But everybody seems to get more of a heavy fuzz, rather than a aggressive, defined, attackie bass tone, if they don't use Dingwalls... even on the first 2 drives. You, on the other hand, managed to get some pretty gnarly tones in your past vids. Thats why i asked if you would be interested in researching that. Oh and as a second point. For some reason, everybody, if they don't use dingwalls or stingrays, they go straight for the vintage basses, rather than modern, high output instruments. Sorry for sending a novel! Cheers!
Truth be told, this is actually a completely hand soldered Beta testing unit, so a few cosmetic changes were made after this iteration :) The insides are exactly the same as the production ones though :)
To each his own :) I actually like these flavours. They’re a bit different to the other ones IMHO. I’m gonna try and stack it with the X and the B3k to see what happens as well :)
