I did several batches of mushrooms the same way, and then I ground them into a powder. I use a spoonful of that powder when I make "cream of" soup from a pantry mix I made. Gives a nice mushroom flavor to the cream soup.
new sub - just found you....dehydrating mushrooms for powder - glad to see your using an old dehydtator too! I use a salton - hopefully one day I'll get a Nesco or excalibur!! thanks for this video!!
I need to do this. Years ago we had inoculated with Shitake mushrooms and I had a great harvest for sever as l years. Dehydrated them and they were wonderful🍄🍄
I have to admit that family distracted me a few times. Did i miss info about the temperature and how long to dry it? Or was it not in the video. Thank you
I don't blanche either just slice and go. Love it. Try and find on sale. Then vacuum seal in my jar. I found a Stainless Steel 10 singing cutting wires soft food slicer for eggs spam cheese pd. !,00 love that thing
I think the older dehydrator is a lower temperature and your newer one has a higher temperature. Can you lower the temperature on your new one to about 120 - 125 degrees? I want to try the mushrooms. Thank you.
@@LittleVillageHomestead I’m sorry. That is probably the reason. You could use new one for meat /protein and your other for fruits and vegetables. I love your channel!
