This might get lost in the comments section but! I think it'd be really cool to see a video of you going back to older projects and fixing them or touching them up! Either way love you and your videos!

I really liked this change of pace and this new content. I'm glad you got to have a break from your other, more demanding more stressful, but equally as fun videos. I want to give you some feedback. I think that if you want to to a video like this again, you don't need to talk as much. It seems like some of the time you're trying to fill the noise void with talking, but there is no noise void. It would be amazing to hear the nature around and sit painting with you. The nature sounds are really pretty and don't need to have music over them. If you want music, maybe put light quiet lofi chill hop, but it is not necessary. These are all suggestions though. Your content is already amazing. I really enjoyed this video. You should make more sit and paint w me videos so you can take a rest from longer videos. It IS on par to your other videos and I enjoyed it quite a lot.

As an artist, I watch art videos all day long. Keep them coming!!!!

I'm not sure how to reassure a CraftTube heavyweight like Rachel tho, who gets literal commentary on everything she does here. Wait, no - same advice! RU-vid Lions do not lose sleep over the opinions of online sheep. 💜

Also, I was going to say, it helps to not set goals that are largely out of your control (like growing a channel! Algorithms are weird and you can't control those!). Doing more chill content and doing projects that bring you joy are GREAT goals!

I got to a point where I stopped caring about what other people think, if people don't like me for something I do or say then they really never liked me for who I am, so I'm just me.

One of the best realisations I had is that it's ok to want more and be grateful for what you already have at the same time. It's easy to feel guilty when we realise others have it worse, but that doesn't mean we can't strive for our goals if we're able. 🙏 😊

Sometimes people do not like others or have commentary on them for very good, very legitimate reasons (awful people still exist and they do an say awful things. And sometimes very non-awful people fvck up in ways that *should* be spoken about), accountability and consequence is important. However, in a broad sense I get what you mean and it's a useful mindset to know how to employ.

Straight up this comment. I also think this is why we can be so chill about you taking a week off for selfcare. We seem to be much more invested in your ability to be genuine, fun and creative than just sewing content. Sometimes its necessary to take a break from our normal making to do something else. Variety is the spice of life, and you keep it spicy (that sounded less weird in my head).

gouache is one of my favourite media but it took me months to figure out how to use it properly 😭 it's pretty hard I found but absolutely pays off when you can use it well.

@@gb9252 That's the great thing about ACRYLIC gouache: Once they dry, they stay, just like acrylics, but are otherwise pretty much like any other gouache. Super easy to handle compared to any other wet medium, except for acrylics themselves.

@@olgahein4384 Hmm I might have to try it out, though I have grown accustomed to the water soluble nature of my gouache now lol. I never got on well with acrylics at all - it's my least favourite medium.

I get the benefits of acrylic gouache but im personally so tired of acrylics being acrylics id probably didn't like hem.

THANK YOU Alexandra! You just worded it way better than I could and that's exactly how I was thinking when I heard that part in the video. I also think that it must be hard when YT constantly compares creators' work to their most immediate videos (from what I've heard, the stats seem really unhealthy and unrealistic). Melanie Murphy and Evan Edinger have actually spoken about this recently on their channels. I think finding a stable/ steady audience and brands that support your work as well as diversifying your income streams (i.e., Melanie is a fiction author and Evan is a photographer) helps frame YT data as a complementary element of one's success as opposed to the core of their success, you know? It seems like that has been helpful for those creators, maybe it can be for Rachel, too?

Agreed. I feel like she's my project twin, because I ALWAYS underestimate the time i'm gonna need! 🤣 But also, I super love it when something's not perfect, and she just rolls with it. I tend to obsess over things, and worry that I MUST make it perfect, and then I see Rachel over here, sometimes *literally* slapping paint onto something, skipping a step because maybe she's tired, or maybe she doesn't gaf just then, and her stuff still comes out stinking cute af, and yeah, maybe it's not perrrrfect, but - who cares, it's CUTE AF!! So yeah, her vids are all little mini-lessons to my uptight Virgo ass!🤣🤣

Speaking from personal experience this is very true. 2021 is a year lost in my memory because I did not paint very much compared to 2020 pre pandemic
