I just had that brain moment where I realised: she's painting a realistic portrait of Gal Gadot onto her face in the medium of make up - and it's working! The transformation came out incredible, and I love watching the process as it developed. Your reveals always make me so inspired because they are STUNNING! I thought I was watching Ladyhawke it was so beautifully shot! ✨🌟🌙

I would LOVE for Rachel to make a video talking about her makeup process; how she analyzes an actor’s face and decides how to best recreate it and what specific tricks she employs

I'll never not be endlessly amazed by how Rachel has such an eye for contouring, and just seems to know just where to apply her eyeshadows to transform into an entirely different face! I kept thinking I was looking at Gal in her outro, until lovely-redhead-Rachel popped up in the bloopers again and I was reminded that I was watching Rachel the whole time!

The entire end of the video my brain was like “why is Rachel’s voice coming out of someone else’s face??” The makeup is incredible and the armour came out so cool!

The “grease” on the metal armour is likely either machine oil from the manufacturing process or was added to protect the metal from tarnishing/oxidizing/discolouring/rusting.

To be fair, even re-enactors appreciate help from one another when donning/doffing armour, especially after battle when they are very tired.

The way you look like a completely different person after the make-up was done is both amazing and unnerving. You are such a good and dedicated cosplayer. 💜

It’s always so weird (read: fascinating) how just a little bit of eye shadow can suddenly make you into a completely different person. Your contouring was wonderfully done!

Are they technically middle grade/YA novels? Yep. Are they wonderfully written, dynamic fantasy descriptions of a girl on her journey to become both a woman and a knight that adults can totally enjoy and appreciate? Oh yes, definitely. Check them out for your daily dose of armor, battle, fantasy, friendship, and whatnot.

Another tip for sealing foam: before applying glue, use a heat gun over the surface! Doesn't take much heat, even a hairdryer if you don't own a heat gun. It helps to make the pores of the foam shrink, leaving it to be perfect for adding your glue on top. 😄

"Fun" is the most valid reason for just about anything ever. Totally loved how this came out!

Hi Rachel! Loved the vid, armour came out great!!! ... Just a quick tip about your new steel armour. The oil on the surface is to stop it going rusty. Any water or moisture, even your own finger prints, will make it rusty, so if you clean it off be sure to give it another thin coat of olive oil to protect it. Dont leave rust on it when you see it as it will scar the metal. Also, the waist belt attached to the back plate is to go around the front plate. That way it stays together and doesnt flop about. :) have fun!!!

Now that you have stairs you can walk down dramatically there’s nothing that says you can’t make a dramatic entrance in every video. Also, after you posted that medieval Hips Don’t Lie in your Instagram story I found an entire playlist of medieval versions of songs. It was great 😄

As a person who has steel "museum replicas" armor and such sitting around the house. When you are done cleaning off the grease, you have to wash off any places you touch with your bare hands (the salt in your hands makes it rust.) you need to heat up the metal (use boiling water not fire) and rub it all over with beeswax. This prevents rust. You might need to repeat it every few years, but it's a wonderful thing. And a capelet in the back would probably be perfect.

"Hear me out, women in armor" How about yes. With a side of yes, a sprinkling of yes for a garnish, and a big helping of yes for dessert.

Thanks to you and Micarah Tewers, I finally bought my first sewing machine. Thanks for your videos, they've inspired me to make my own clothes and I cant tell you how it feels. I haven't seen my family in over 2 years thanks to covid as I live abroad. Im in NZ and my family is in Canada and the US. I've been really depressed and sewing has given me something to look forward to. Its given me something to create and be proud of, its really been a boost to my mental health. You should treat yourself to a respirator for when you're sanding/spray painting/dremeling. 3M makes some good half face ones for fairly inexpensive that you can swap the cartridges for fumes vs. particles. Your content is awesome, we'd hate to see you get sick from it!

Literally my dream is a renaissance/medieval festival style outfit but also recognizable as a superhero. So I love this.

I haven't finished the video yet, but I had to come comment on that basement. I used to live in a 300 year old New England house, and the basement looked EXACTLY like that, with all the stone and the logs for beams instead of 2x4s. There was a cupboard down there that my landlord joked was the entrance to the cells he kept former tenants in. That creepy clown would have been LEGITIMATELY terrifying in there!

Every time she wears a dark wig I'm just struck by how much it suits her. Not that red hair doesn't, but I think the dark hair makes her eyes super deep or something.

Not to take anything away from the AMAZING job on this, but Frodo is so gorgeous! I absolutely love getting to see dogs actually run, getting to go full-tilt like their wild ancestors and relatives get to do. In no way am I supporting people who let their dogs of leash in public, non-dog park situations, but if you have the space or a dog park, it such a wonderful sight to get to see them so happy! Pets to Frodo! Good boi!

That moment during the reveal when you are walking like a beautiful badass towards the camera. With the make-up you looked like such a different person, it's absolutely stunning! I specifically LOVE watching you transform your face into different people becauseI find it fascinating to see what paint/make-up can do. The more drastic the make-up, the more I am impressed! As a painter I can help with your contouring question! :D the shadows of the face have more blue in them (think under eye circles) so grey is more realistic than brown. A lot of portrait paintings show actual blue in the shadows of the face. Anyways, thank you for reading my geek out ☺️ I absolutely loved your armor!

Funny, first thing I thought with the thumbnail was, "Who is that girl? Did she use a model?" The makeup is on point, and I love seeing a unique version of a classic character. She was my first super hero, and one of the two (Leia also) princesses I aspired to be as a child. I did a Steampunk Wonder Woman many years ago after finding some really cool stars and stripes muted and antiqued tone curtains with a front swag and graduated pleat side design at a garage sale. I used that as the front of the skirt, and pieced it together with a full length ruched and bustled (split open, as it was much too small) dark sapphire taffeta prom skirt I found at Goodwill (from the random time of separate tops and skirts for prom) as the back half of the skirt. I then ordered a muted red satin corset, added a molded eagle to the front, with antique gold fringe and braidwork trim. I made a set of pauldrons from knee pads that I covered with gold rub n buff and antiqued, and connected them with belts that had decorative silver pieces, so the belts cross over my chest for comfort. Then I found some sapphire blue belly dancing pants, split them apart, and attached them to my pauldrons, so they drape under my arms and hide some body parts I don't love. It looks like something you would see in a roman goddess costume, so it looks right to me. I made her bracers from shin guards, adding decorative bits to that after rub n buffing/antiquing which I also did to some boots. Her head piece is entirely foam and oversized, and I used a black Marie Antoinette style extremely poofy and curly wig. I have a lariat that lights up, cause why not? It has been re-designed and well loved over the years by myself and others, and when asked what my inspiration was, I say "I just didn't want to wear spandex *shrug*". I wish I could show you, I think you would get a kick our of it.

Every time you do a Lady Knight costume I start re-reading Tamora Pierce’s Alanna books. So thank you for that! (And I recommend them to anyone who wants to read some great books about the bestest lady knight ever).
