I just started using a 0.2% Retinol and this video has perfect timing! I'll force all the info onto my boyfriend, because he keeps talking about cryptocurrencies and Retinoids are a much better topic.

When you read, "Let's get intimate" expecting a sweet lil convo but instead get yelled at. You're the best.

This is the best explanation of Retinoids I have ever come across. I used Paula’s Choice for years and eventually (after 10 years) decided it was not working anymore. Then a few years ago switched to Differin. Because of this talk I switched to Retinal and currently using Medik8 and Avene in two different strengths. What a difference in my 80 year old skin! It is never too late to improve. Thank you very much.

I would love to see a video about acne scars - how to treat them, what can we do at home, what can we do at the doctor's office etc.

Would you consider doing a video about different acne scar treatments (Fraxel, microneedling, fibroblast, TCA CROSS, etc). What you suggest and what treatments you believe are ineffective. Thanks!

I’m 36 almost 37 and I feel like I’m throwing everything but the kitchen sink at my skin to see if I can slow down the aging process. I use tret, vitamin c, glycolic acid (obviously not all together), I use microcurrent, I take collagen powder and take hyaluronic acid supplements.... and I avoid the sun like a vampire and religiously wear sunscreen. I’ll check back with you in 10 years and let you know 😂

I love love love this video! I’ve been using Tretinoin 0.25% for a year and 2 months now. I love the effects of it and how it has helped tame my acne and in effect my skin overall. Got a lot of compliments with of how my skin “glows”. Also, consistency is truly the key ❤️❤️❤️

The astrology reference gave me an idea... Tell me what u guys think! Aries: glycolic acid (classic, strong, great results but you need to be careful. Strong!) Taurus: retinoids (be careful, if you push too hard they WILL push back. But if you keep boundaries, they'll reliably slowly fix almost everything lol) Gemini: Azelaic (so versatile - antibacterial, comedolytic, anti-inflammatory. Only gets left out of the conversation because its impossible to work with (hard to formulate)) Cancer: Hydroquinone (controversial, some ppl call them "toxic". Feels like you're walking on eggshells, but can yield unparalleled results if you can strike the magical balance) Leo: lactic (a bit basic, but delivers a more calm punch than aries, making it more tolerable. You'll feel hydrated and glowing with lactic in your friend group - superstar even though it isn't that chemically fascinating) Virgo: glycerin (so "boring" you barely even think about it - but when you do, you realize it makes up the entire foundation of your routine and is a superstar) Libra: Hyaluronic acid (aesthetic... tolerated by everyone, ultimately a bit basic though. Immediate satisfaction if you want to feel cute!) Scorpio: Ascorbic acid (mystical, can do so many things in theory, but very fussy and hard to cooperate with. Be careful or you'll get stung) Sag: Mandelic (somehow always forgotten, but is actually so cool and versatile - brightening, antimicrobial, water AND lipo-soluble. Def underrated and a total firecracker powerhouse) Capricorn: Niacinamide (brilliant basics. Can help almost everyone with almost anything, just not the most wow-factor. But we still all respect its genius in accessibility, and hard-working nature) Aquarius: tranexamic (ahead of its time. Some ppl call BS and think they won't live up to any claims) Pisces: salicylic (honestly so therapeutic. Probably one of the best anti-acne ingredients, but gets left out because it isn't fancy. Will always be there for you though)

Retinol didn't get rid of my skincare problems but it sure kept them at bay and I saw quite a difference in texture and appearance.

I've heard that thing about not doing strong actives in the summer here in Northern Europe too. Doctors also used to say to avoid surgery in summer as well, unless it's an emergency - something about wounds healing worse when it's warm 🙂

A313 only contains retinyl palmitate now. The older formulation (discontinued) contained all three retinyl esters

Oh my gosh acutane is a retinoic acid. Of course it is. 16 year old didn’t think about that. But here I am 10 years later wishing I had the skin I did when I was taking it! I know not everyone has the same experience, but I glowed. It was amazing and I need to get back to that!

honestly, starting retinoids with the granactive one in emulsion from The Ordinary was pretty tame and efficacious, but now I understand why it was actually a great choice for starting out. Bingeing on your videos is the best thing, especially when coupled with other creators to see how much diversity in opinion there is and some of the facts left out by others. Looking at the ingredient list of CeraVe, I can see that the retinol is listed ahead of the preservative. Preservatives are generally found at around 1% of a cosmetic. So while you can't be absolutely positive unless CeraVe is willing to tell someone the percentage, it's likely more than 1%.
