Kimchi was the first korean food I had ever tried, I've loved every single thing I've tried since. It's so spicy and vinegary yumminess. I love spicy things and vinegar so it hooked me instantly.

Just found you on RU-vid a couple of days ago. Your cooking is amazing and love your “do you” personality. That non-apologetic bite got me hit the subscribe button 💕✨
I already liked kimchi but she is literally the reason why I am going through jars and jars of it at an accelerated rate since watching her. I try to incorporate it in every dish I’ve made this year and my bfs not a fan so I get to enjoy it all to myself so ty for making fall more inlove with it.
the last kimchi I've made developed its taste over about 3-4 months and we finally ate the last piece after about 10 months and it was still perfect. felt like this stuff cant get bad, once the fermentation is done. love it.
I'm honestly so excited that I've found you!! I've been wanting to make kimchi for a while now and you've just answered so many questions in this video 👏 thank you so much 💕 ps 100% support your website with recipes too!! Would buy your book if you ever made one 😅💕
Oh my god 😭 😭 😭 biggest compliment ever literally made my day. Thank you so much! I know the video quality isn’t that great and I’ve got room for improvement but thank you so so so much. This means so much to me and motivates me to try/ test out different recipes. Truly, thank you.
To remove the garlic / onion smell on hands. You can get these stainless steel soaps it just metal and it removes any odor from cooking. I have one it amazing, it does work in seconds not need to scrub. Brought it from Amazon!
Thank you for this video! Got the ingredients (except for daikon and Korean pear [couldn’t find those]) online and the kimchi turned out sooooo good! Combined your recipe with Maangchi’s and added carrots and chives 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I’ve been keeping up with your videos on July onwards, gives me solace during a hard transition that I am going through, I wanted to start watching from your first video and must say you’ve come a long way 🫰🏽
Hey Dooby. First time commenter, long time listener. You mentioned in the video that some folks like to use pineapple to kick-start the fermenting process. I'm a big pineapple stan and wanted to know how much should I use with this recipe? That'll be it for now. Stay fresh.
Literally started watching videos from your channel yesterday and have been going down a rabbit hole adding like half of your channel into my watch later queue.
I saw you in one YT Shorts like 3 days ago and I cant stop watching you!!! you are amazing, gorgeous and super confident! what surprise is me is that you cooked sinigang and kare kare?!?!?! howd you know that?!?!....am still trying to find out in your videos! :D
I'd like to say, you are amazing!! Your videos give me so much life. I have been struggling with anxiety, and have also been struggling with trying to control it. Once i Started watching your vlogs and videos, you give me some kind of peace and calm within myself again. You energy is so contagious that i feel it give me your happy vibes. So i thank you!! With love, Vee. #Australia. ♡
I just made your kimchi recipe ... it smells and tastes divine. I can hardly wait to try in a couple of days. I would love to see you do a fermented white kimchi ... hint ... hint.
For the garlic smell on your hands, if you run your hands on stainless steel (i use my knife...very carefully of course), it takes the smell away. I've even seen stainless steel "soap" (stainless steel in the shape of a bar of soap). You rub it around your hands like you would with a regular bar of soap, and it gets rid of the smell on your hands.
Tap the edge of the jar a couple of times on the table and it'll easily twist off (it breaks the air lock by slightly deforming the shape of the metal lid) :)
Im from Fiji, I used to live and school in Japan. I love love Korea, been there and absolutely in love with the food and culture. I love watching your channel. So relatable and your food seriously makes me go buy everything you make❤️ Love your content💯
I made kimchi today, with your recipe. I never had kimchi before, it will be my first time even to taste it. I had to do some substitutions, but looks yummy. Now I just have to wait some days
Oh yeah... here we go... I knew a kimchi vid would pop up. Auto play knows whats up today. Dooby I definitely feel what you said bout kimchi always in the fridge.
Hey!! So I’m a recent graduate from a culinary school in SF. Im still wanting to learn and all so I’m very curious about food science! Could you do a video elaborating on that and the classes you had taken etc etc?
Im new to your channel and just found you randomly here in youtube short and Im just amaze how you introduce yourself and how you find your passion in cooking which is very similar to us as a Filipino which is appreciating every food. Looking forward to your channel good luck.
Congratulations for the second anniversary of your channel premiere video. Does somebody mentioned yet you have a resemblance to a Japanese singer named Leola, both physically and in personality? 😉
I am also making kimchi I am also using a pear...and a shrimp paste hmmmm but I'm so happy to watch this video I learned a lot. Thank you so much. When I watch your video I watched it til the end and gosh this is worth watching.
I love to cook (and eat ) and I just found your channel this week… you kinda like a baby Maangchi? All love and respect to Maangchi because she da queen. But I love your channel now too, esp. when you’re cooking. Also rooting for the success of your restaurant Gurly. Best to you🩵
Saw some videos from this channel before. Also saw some cabbage in the shop today, decided to make kimchi, came home and said to myself "wonder if she has a recipe video" .Funny enough, here it is, and more appropriately, seems to be the first video of the channel
Found it now after years of seeing your videos. It's same, same but different though! Same character, same humor, but skills got improved! :D But funny to see it now, seeing now your new kimchang video :D Rooting for you from Berlin ^^
6:45 i was like "wait whats that sound?" and i realized that u actually gagged. love your videos! ive been introduced to ur channel a while back when i started watching youtube shorts!
Saw your short in which you told us about how you stay fit and in shape Now that I see this video of yours I just realised that working out gives lot more cleaner look and defined features ✨ Even if one doesnot dressup, put on accesseries , wear make up and have a perfect hairstyle for their face shape
i Never tried Kimchi but i had Some In Portland Oregon Where theres like a Korean Food Cart the food i had was good and it had radishes with Korean red chili flakes..
I don't know if you will see this since it has been so long since you posted it. I am new to your channel. Love it. Can you decrease the amount of pepper flakes in this? I used to love hot stuff, but I can't eat it anymore. I didn't know if the amount of pepper has anything to do with preservation.
Amazing video! So tempting and I will definitely try this. What do you do with the extra spicy paste? Also is there any non-seafood alternative for the shrimp paste that you would recommend?
Rub your fingers on stainless steel after cutting garlic and/or onions. You can even get a “stainless steel bar.” Great addition to a kitchen that uses garlic.
