That would make a great gift wrapping for concert tickets. It serves as an instant memento, too.

This is a great idea! I love it! You could even put pins or buttons from a trip on one of these. Great ideas!

Lynn, Years ago I bought used silver metal embroidery hoops. You've now inspired me to do something with them. Thanks!

I am not sure who Lynn is, but hey, I will go with it! 😀 I am so happy you are inspired by these! They are fun to make. I haven't tried one with the metal hoops that I got, but I want to. I can see a bunch on the wall in a cluster. ❤️❤️❤️

About 40 years ago, putting embroidery work, or fussy cuts of pillow panels in all sizes of hoops was a big trend. Lace or trims was used to cover the front of the hoop. I like all of your ideas and enjoyed watching you go thru your buttons and trims. Leaving the hoop exposed adds to the charm. Thanks for sharing. I'm ready for some smaller projects after finishing 2 quilts.

Oh wow! I love that! I am a bit addicted to making these. I found some more at a yard sale a few weeks ago and am planning on making some for the holidays as decorations in my sewing room. They are so much fun to make! Wouldn't it be neat to make one for each project you complete in a year? It could be like an embroidery hoop scrapbook! The possibilities are endless! Thank you for sharing and for watching! ❤️

Wow ! this is a great idea - i've never seen this before. i don't have any antiques but i do have a little collection of my tester blocks going that I was not sure what I would do with, but now I think I'm going to be going through the button jar & the bits & bobs. Great project to do with the kids as well, thanks !

This would be a nice way of putting some of my many buttons to use in art. I also have some odds and ends in old lace that could also be worked into Crazy patchwork with thread art, beads and buttons. Tea can be used to stain new fabrics to look old, when you want something to look old. Thank you for the wonderful ideas of how to display some of my collection. Please don't forget old picture frames (with or without glass) instead of hoops.

Great ideas! I have used tea and coffee before to make things look old. That would work great in these projects!

I always enjoy your videos, thanks. I saw a recent video on using scotch guard spray on handmade sewn items to help keep dust or any liquid accidentally staining them. I have several antique items my mom didn’t finish and they would make great Christmas gifts for family members if I feel up to going into her items. Thanks again and I look forward to your videos

I love your hoops. Great idea to use your vintage squares, they looks so pretty. I subscribe to Tracy and have already decided to make one of these as I have a hoop that my Grandmother gave to me over 50 years ago. Well, embroidery is not one of my things but I always loved my hoop because Nanna gave it to me. Now I have gotten it out and I am gathering my fabric and ideas. I have on order for my machine a bead foot so I have bought some small pearls and I will sew them on somehow. Then I am going to use a combination of my fancy sewing feet and fancy stitches on my machine and do a crazy quilt top for my hoop. I am really looking forward to getting started. Hope Australia Post gets a move on with my foot. It is floating around in Australia somewhere..just has to pass by Brisbane.

This is such a wonderful way to honor your grandmother. I love it! You could combine Tracy's technique and this technique to come up with a wonderful memento. This is going to be amazing! Thank you for sharing this idea. Please email me a picture when you are done! My email is sewthedistance@gmail.com. I would love to see it!

Sorry but to a hand sewer it seems a little backwards to quilt BEFORE putting it in the hoop.

It would be fun to hand quilt it, wouldn’t it? If I were hand quilting it, I’d do the same thing. Nothing to be sorry about! Thank you for watching and commenting! ❤️
