Hello my friends and welcome back! In this quick and easy painting video I am trying to make some great looking two tone style zombie dogs ready to be used for the Resident Evil board game.
I have used a brand new microphone to do the voice over on this video so you'll have to give me a little bit of feedback and let me know if the audio quality is indeed better for you guys to follow along with.
Thank you so much for your continued support and awesomely positive comments. This channel has been fuelled by you guys and the more you watch, comment and like the content the more content I will post. This channel was made during lockdown simply to show my friends how I paint in my spare time and since then it has grown into a nice little platform with quite a lot of content. Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments bellow and I will get back to you and answer you to the best of my ability.
As always Thank you for tuning in and watching and I hope you enjoyed this video and I really do hope that it helps you on your painting adventures.
I would like to add a special thank you to my good friend Mark Llewellyn for his amazing backing music. My videos wouldn't be anywhere near as good without them.
Also a massive thank you to my good friend Chris Dixon for his artwork on my banner.

This is the most wholesome video I've ever seen of horribly mangled Zombie dogs, dripping with Blood for the blood God, lol. I especially love the brown on the dark grey. To me, it looks like the dogs are dirty and battle-hardened. Very good choice of colours, IMHO. Thanks for another great tutorial, my friend. And of course, thanks for being you! As always, Cheers! And Much love from Canada, to you and yours! Happy gaming, Dan. I'll be cheering those Dogs to get some kills, lol. ✌

As always thank you so much for your time and kind words. I’m very happy the colours have worked well between the dark grey and browns to create that effect. I’m happy to see some of these little videos are helping others to progress with their painting and hobbying. Until next time my friend, take care!

This guide was helpful as always, when I finally made myself sit down and start painting the dogs--though I was getting burned out by this point, so I drybrushed them a lot more than I would've, had I not been batch-painting all of them! And also, I've found that a good substitute for that blood effect is actually really well-made by mixing just a *drop* of Mephiston Red into a little Agrax Earthshade, of all things; not really necessary for most, I'm sure, but it's certainly served me well in a pinch!

Hi Bryan thanks for the great comment. You’ve added some awesome things onto this video. I really love the idea of the mixed mephiston red and agrax to create gore, this is indeed a valuable tip. Also dry brushing is a very versatile and useful style for things like this as the grittiness of the style will add more depth to the fur and grime on the dogs. Thanks so much for watching as always my friend and thank you for adding so much more info the videos as well. What’s left for you to paint in the resident evil world now?

@@Bread0fHeaven Why, all I've left now are the Core Box bosses, the Evolved Lickers, and the standard Zombies from the Core and B-Files! Not to say I'm not in haste to compound that 'problem,' by getting that awesome Survival Horror box--I'd be remiss to not want Marvin or Brad!--but hey, one thing at a time, right?

@@bryanmccrary139 you have still gotten some seriously cool minis to paint. You’ll have a load of fun with those.

I'm finally going to start with the dogs. I have already finished all the other tutorials and I have even tried to paint the Hunk and Tofu characters by myself and I am very happy with the result. Really, I am very grateful for having found your videos because they are what encouraged me to start painting my miniatures, and in just one month I have managed to finish 18! It’s crazy! Hopefully when I'm done with the dogs, a new video of the IVYs appear suddenly🤣

Wow congratulations on finishing up 18 models in just a month! That is a really great achievement and I’m so happy to hear that I was able to help encourage you to achieve this. It’s always so lovely for me to know that these videos are helping others. Your collection must be looking so fantastic now and I bet your happy with how they all look. I will be tackling hunk and tofu soon. There will be a video coming before too long I just have one or two to make before it. Thank you so much for sticking with the videos and for letting me know how your painting has been going. I love to hear how far your painting has come and it really makes me happy. Thank you again for all of your input into the channel my friend I really appreciate it. Keep an eye out for more resident evil videos coming soon.

Hi Dan, Great Vids...any tips on painting the teeth on the dogs with their mouths closed? having an absolute nightmare with them. The open mouths have gone really well but the others, really struggling with.
@Bread0fHeaven
@Bread0fHeaven Год назад
That is a fantastic question my friend. They are small and difficult to get to some parts and I know these were something that can be very tricky. I would suggest the very small brush. Something like a size 0 or even smaller of you have an ultra fine brush there. Then I’d carefully place a small amount of bone white into the small pasty of the mouth and once that’s dry then I’d use a small amount of sepia wash to let that do the work for me. That will allow the darker sepia brown tone to sit in the detailed area of the teeth. I really do hope this helps you get those pesky hounds done. Thank you for the comment and I’m really glad you’ve been enjoying the videos too. There’s loads more to come so I hope I can keep up the standard for you 👍🏻

Hi Dan, just droppin' by to say thanks for the video. The transition of the dogs fur is very subtle yet very noticeable. Great job and always an inspiration to try new styles for me
