In Diablo 1, it's the opposite. Until level 9 or so, you are basically one step away from being instakilled :D Then you start to gain traction... until you reach Hell/Hell, and get your ass handed to you, if you aren't optimized.
@@VortechBand Atmosphere in Diablo 1 is the Ultimate King - you have to watch your every step. Diablo 2 is an amazing Diablo experience too but more relaxed in my opinion. Both games are Legends.

I miss the days when you could have 20 melee skellies on screen as well as your other minions. My big issue with summoner necro though is all the tight corridors like the maggot lair and what not.
@@Golden2Talon No. They nerfed that back in D2's hayday because back when everyone had potato PCs, having that many minions on screen would crash a lot of people games or just lag the hell out of multiplayer sessions.
@@SomethingScotty I wouldn't call it a nerf though. My first character back when D2 came out was a summoner, and sure, you'd get one skeleton per point, but by act 3 all 20 would collapse under a stiff breeze. I much prefer the fewer, non-useless skellies we have now.

Didn't know that about how teeth works with cursor placement. Nice. I'm currently at hell act 4 doing Mephisto runs with my Javazon. I got lucky with a really nice durance map, nice and close to the waypoint to get to level 3. Now hoping for some good drops; I got a wizspike, but not useful for my character. Started doing planks or curls after some runs to get some exercise in too. Liked that system yesterday and hope to keep it going. Weather is good enough to get out and skate today, so think I'll do that; save the D2 runs for later or snow days. Will probably have far too many of those coming up. Also got a level 2 tele charge ammy; was thinking about using wizspike and the amulet for teleporting, but don't want to take the hit to my resistances (all res 13 22 percent mf ammy, was stoked on that drop).

I'm watching this, I'm around act 2, maggot lair, and this is one of the best speedrunning maps that could happen! In many parts and both acts up to now!
Golden words: "PoE is too complex, d3 is too simple..." i do not mind of complexity in a game like that but they purposely overpounded the game with complexity. At least they can not include difficult choices "in a middle of the map" just like syndicate (if you run a certain strategy with it) or 10 sex timer on alva incursion when i've played that league was absurdly short. The other problem with PoE is tons of damage and perfect ways to deliver that damage. I think they should nerf all damage output at least 10 times for now and start further balance from that point.
I almost completely agree. The newest league, delirium, imo had some of the best enemy balance. Enemies spawned by the league mechanic have some far more deadly mechanics for you to watch out for, and like 4x the health. Regular mobs demand some attention and clever positioning. The game needs that as a standard imo.
Hey MrLlama, I am currently working on a mod for D2 I think you will really enjoy! The goal is to add way more tactical depth to the game, for example by making positioning even more important. This in done by giving players a flanking bonus, making attacks from the side or rear do more damage. Your necro, for example, could greatly benefit from this, giving your bone spear increased penetration from behind, allowing you to really pound dudes with maximum efficiency! I think you will love it!
True that nobody gives that info. Remember asking an uploader about it and the response was "its easy just level to it". D2 is not an easy game for new players xD

I actually played along this time, and i was behind with the claw viper amulet, he already in arcane sanctuary BUT i remembered he always 4ways, so i kept at it and actually went ahead. sad i missed the stream, could have gotten a nice sub!
This guy is amazing in his knowledge of the game and his distribution of that knowledge... I could do without the chat, though. I mean, I get enjoying yourself and friendly teasing, but it went way too far for what is supposed to be a guide video.
Every community that has lasted this long needs someone like you. I was a kid who played diablo casually with friends and I just wanna play a solo playthrough but every guide just tells me how to use my max points. You not only are an energetic awesome dude, but you know that you are helping build the community rather than alienate. I LOVE IT!

I love the original sound of the corpse explosion in D2. If they are going to bring back the Necromancer in D4, maybe later in the expansion whatever, it'll be so nostalgic to have that sound effect back.
Necro easiest character in every map, except maggot lair hell. Against BAAL you can trouble him by running, not hitting but your merc+skeletons+revives do the job for you.

I was disappointed that you didnt go the poison route, but like you said it's more practical to go bones early on. Was still a great watch. The sub train was nuts, and the innuendo has stepped up in hilarity and risqueness. I love it.
Just a warning. If you want to do the strategy at 1:58:00 you need to be under level 20 by act 3, or you will not be able to find white/grey wands in the shop

Getting items with +strength means he doesn't have to put them in himself to be able to wear hear so he can spend the points where he likes in most cases that's life
Who else played back in the day, soloing through with characters trying to figure out the good builds? My friends and I stalled out in Nightmare and Act1 Hell so much. Grinding through and killing every trash mob, it would take 10s of hours per character. We were trying to cube up runes for high runes, had no idea about drop rates, just living unaware of the depth of the game. Then we started playing online for real and slowly started learned and looking things up. But still, coming from a world of Mario and Donkey Kong Country we didn't have the metal framework to "get good" at this kind of game. It wasn't really until college when I came across the Smash Bros community that "getting good" and learning games started to click. Then fast forward to the speed running era and llamas videos it felt like Dibalo 2 suddenly had its secrets unlocked and became a while new game. I lost my install on a PC upgrade a few years ago and I'm now coming back to get my solo account built up with pluggy. It feels like magic!
totally agree about PoE, I have over 600 hours and as much as I love the game, it really does take essentially having a college degree in PoE in order to play it at a competent level, atleast in the endgame/mapping (which is arguably where the game starts). But ya if you're just gonna play through the acts and do basic white maps then you can get by without engaging in many of the systems, following any sort of build, or really understanding what all the different stats and multipliers ACTUALLY do.. but if you're planning to play past that point and play leagues and stuff it gets very complicated very quickly, and that's not even bringing crafting into the mix, that's a whole other kettle of fish. The other major "quirk" the game has is how unforgiving it is for people who want to experiment and find their own builds and play styles, it could very much benefit from 1 or 2 free COMPLETE respecs given to you over the course of the acts (maybe one when you face Kitava for the first time and another after reaching maps) along with the handful of respec points they give you over the course of the acts via books of skill/regret, anyone trying to tell you it isn't a complicated/complex game is just being intellectually dishonest or not looking at the game objectively.
Some Revives just meander around and don’t actively fight the way I think they should. I no longer use Revives. They increased the skel mages damages and I said yahooo. You need to put a few points in summon resist. A merc with BOTD and you are kicking!!! Decrpify is a nifty curse. I like to use Terror to make monsters run away from the portal in Throne of Destruction. Especially those Burning Souls. Those get on everyone’s nerves. Hard to believe I was playing this game 20 years ago. I still have fun playing this game. Loose track of time and all of a sudden it is 5 o’clock in the morning. What good memories. I don’t take them for granted anymore.
at the start of act 3 Ormus only ever has blue bone wands, does that mean I just need to keep trying Drognan to get a white or 2os +bone spear mod wand?
I’m rewatching this now as I level up a bone necro and it’s very funny and sad to see how your predictions about D4 ended up happening. Poor itemizations and having the season pass. D2 remains my favorite game. Thanks for all your guides you’ve made. I don’t fear Duriel anymore because of your tip.
I am not sure about easy.. actually i have reached the point of nightmare for sorceress and even that was more easy than necro. What was his problem? You had to alternate between different skills, calling up skeletons, golems, curses, exploding corpses, all very often alternating. That said, blowing up corpses requires a lot of mana at a fairly low efficiency, for example, you need a corpse, you need to pump well to have a good blast radius, you need a VERY large mana and does not work well if the monsters are not grouped. On the bosses, it's just... awful. An army of skeletons dies instantly, a golem with one poke, corpse explosions don't work, because the bosses are usually alone. What I'm trying to say is that for me personally Necro seemed interesting, but turned out to be boring, slow, and terribly difficult to play.
See I can't play the way you do. I'm a completionist. That means I kill everything I can find, I grab EVERY waypoint and no dungeon goes uncleared. I don't usually start act to until level 18 at the latest because of this.
Please make a playlist for all the guided play through because they are VERY HARD TO FIND by scrolling through your channel and your thumbnails are very samey I highly recommend you to drastically change your thumbs Right now all of your videos just blend together and if I skip a video there is nothing in the thumbnail or the title for me to want to go back and watch it They are not eye catchy You could mention different things that happen to get me interested Your presentation style is great tho
About the number of viewers with notbell enabled, I would say it is not about the quality of the channel, but about the average profile of the viewers. Gamers, especially who play games so complex as Diablo, don't need to be reminded of what they want to know. I myself have been watching your channel, and I purposely search for what I want to watch in it. It is a matter of being really interested, in which case, if I'm right, it means that your channel is so good that it doesn't need to remind its viewers to watch it ;)
i dont click the bell on channels anymore, i find that once i do, i get dozens of notifications, emails, and pop ups in my browser regarding videos ive already watched! not to mention, their new videos dont show up right on my home/sub, because its like they figure "hey we notification spammed about it, no need to show them on sub/home page then!".. like wtf.. it just conditions me to ignore notifications and have to bookmark your individual page regardless, which makes it pointless.
Can't any1 help? I'm in A3 checking the vendor for a white bone wand, I've reloaded the area over 20 times and he's never once had any white items, not even just bone wands but any items. Is it because I'm on single player?
ok so...im following this along...and...act 3 doesnt sell non magic wands?! how is yours selling them? even looking online everyonbe says past act 2 no merchant sells nonmagic items anymore as well. so confused...
Hi there. Something is wrong with my game. No one sells mana from the very beginning. I am currently pretty much at the end of act 2 and it monsters do not drop mana, there is nowhere else to get it from. Is this a bug or I am missing something?
