People say combat is dated in this game because it's less precise and responsive than modern shooters. That's actually because it's rooted in RPG mechanics, with effectveness based in character stats over player skill. The mechanic gets tighter in 2 and 3. Also, you made the right call going infiltrator. Ive played at insanity dificulty as all classes, and soldier was the only one that couldn't keep my interest. You have way more flexibility with powers rather than just guns.
In the beginning of every game you could adjust the way your character looks and change their appearance but once the game starts you’re locked in to what you chose
I remember restarting my first playthrough of ME2 about 4 times because my character’s neck and eyebrows looked weird as hell during the Lazarus cutscene.
I personally love the combat in Mass Effect 1. The only "drawback" (if you can call it that) is that Biotics are incredibly overpowered in the first game.
Yay! An infiltrator! I don't know who's saying soldier is one of the more flexible options. Personally, I think Infiltrator is one of the most flexible and versatile of the choices.
Oh God, please don't read the comments. Almost worth finishing a playthrough before uploading though I know that's unpractical. The Mass Effect community as a whole is notorious for whining when you don't play it how they think is right. Don't try to fight it, just plan around it.
It's literally the opposite, the ME community is among those that spoils the less and one of the friendliest when it comes to newcomers. It's just that the game doesn't explicitly demonstrates its mechanics and when you're a streamer, backsit about it may be necessary when it comes to that, it's never used as a purpose to influence future choices, but to help make stuff clear.
@@quentinhirschfeld9382The ME community is the one which wants to crucify the first timer if he kills that character on certain tropical planet or loses someone in THE mission, or [insert any other choice which prevents the perfect run here]. Just go into comments of any ME first timer when LE came out, and you'll see it regardless of how thorough and invested into the game player is.
@@dimbasz To be fair some ME-virgin streamers are just too dumb, too ignorant, too newb to play it properly. Chat/yt comment section is always super autistic about it and will no doubt start yapping but in a way? I understand them. Like op streamer here Kailey - I knew from the beginning I wouldn't enjoy her pt because she's not interested in full exploration and combat higher than casual kindergarden so I'm out. But others for suuuure gonna bitch and moan
honestly being a gaming creator has made me used to that stuff (plus comments are good for my videos hehe). I don't mind advice and tips as long as there are explanations tho! that's why I love playing games on stream 👾
Good Luck, Kailey! The trilogy is about the characters---you'll see. ME1 is sort of mechanical. ME2 is totally engaging. And after your training in the first two.....uh ME3...good luck, Commander!
If you like gun heavy play them soldier or infiltrator for the whole trilogy. If you like power based play then engineer, sentinel and adept are strong. Strongest class per game if you play them optimally: ME1 Soldier, ME2 and 3 Engineer.
Sorry you got such bad advice and ended up restarting your game. The Legendary Edition took out the weapon restrictions. Any class can use any weapon. And as for choosing answers, be nice (top choice) or be an ass (bottom choice), but too many middle choices and the game WILL PUNISH YOU!
