When you hold your mouse over a type of room, it darkens everything that isn't that type and brightens everything that is that type, so you can find them easier in bigger prisons. That's what is happening, Quill.

quill puts visitation next to common room, sooner or late a max level prisoner grabs pool cue and stabs someone.

Two quick comments. - The rooms window is dimming all the rooms that aren't of the type you've moused over and highlighting the rooms you are mousing over, to make it easier to find those rooms in your prison. It's a new UI feature. I do like how the programmer in you went to "it must be a recalculation" :) - The showers are better built in the dorm itself, because it impacts the grading of the dorm.

they added a feature where if you hover over a room type that you already have placed it will dim the prison and highlight just that type of room so you can find them easier in a large prison. It is mostly useful when playing/looking at someone else prison.

You're not getting blackouts from the power it's just that when you hover over a room in the rooms tab then it shows you where those rooms are in your prison :D

You know, those workers are really amazing, how they build a prison in a single day.

If you extent the walls of the canteen / storage to make them in line with the entrance walls you'll end up with a bit more of walking space for the benches in the canteen and our OCD isn't going to drive us crazy anymore.

Electricity doesn't spread outside. Outside lights (the stickpole ones) don't need electricity.

Watch out, one of your MaxSec prisoners is a wizard. One who specializes in burning down buildings.

Quill, you can put shower heads in cells. They use them in place of shower rooms and you don't have to set it to a shower tile. They help with people getting ansy about their hygeine bc they can take showers during lockdown and or free time

I am really enjoying this LP, looking forward to trying 2.0 myself when I've got some more time. No offence, Quill, but you are spending way too much on pipes and electricity. Small pipes can reach a lot farther than you think (and are both cheaper and offers a smaller digging bonus than the larger), and electrical cables doesn't have to be right next to the lights. Most of the time, unless you've got a really big room, a cable in the hallway is okay, since the smaller cables (which are placed automatically) goes under doors. Furthermore, I would focus more on security. There are literally only one jail-door that are separating the prisoners from their freedom, and they don't have to tunnel very far to get out of your enclosed compounds :)

I'm sure you know this already, Quill and I apologize for saying it if you did, Dorms are a very risk verses reward. They double capacity but if one prisoner attempts to tunnel out, all the prisoners in said dorm attempt to as well.

Lights outside don't need power at all; I guess they have built-in batteries? You do need to connect stuff like cameras directly though.

There is a 3D option. Go to option and at the bottom left corner there is a hidden x bottom, that will turn on the 3D mode.

The only place you need metal detectors is right before the dorms.

Can you please try using the 3D mode?

I think selecting multiple research creates a stack rather than a queue.

if you open the data file in a notepad document it'll still play regularly but then you may be able to mess with the names bc in doom 3 you can do the same thing to modify the amount of players per lobby and thats how we had 32 people in my CTA (computer tech academy) in one lobby vs the 4 it lets you so maybe it'll help you thought I might pass the knowledge

Would it not be better to do something like Fill to capacity? It would make the intake happen at a more reasonable pace and refills your cells should someone get out on parole or completing their sentence.

You say that you want to create a high security prison but this common room design is the opposite of high security. Both realistically and in game for the contraband accessible via visitors.

I always use those little spare rooms for cleaning cupboards. Needs noone to watch them, n education needed and you can greatly cut back on janitors

"It's difficult to change the name of the prisoner because someone paid to have their name in the game". So, someone paid to influence what goes on in my game on my computer? Someone paid money so they could REDUCE the amount of customization available in my game? Now, that's a bullshit game mechanic if I ever saw one.

This is boring.. considering you stopped rimworld because of this, what an awful choice to make.
