This episode paid homage to the pilot episode in more ways then one. The kid climbing the trees to see the queen coming, was paying homage to Bran climbing the castle walls to have a look at the king coming. The same music playing. The Winterfell high lords and ladies lined up to greet the king/queen. The symbol created by the dead with body parts. Jamie at the end of the opening episode again with Bran. Such a terrible episode as the haters would have you believe. Contrary to what they say, this was one of the better episode one's in the series.
It was a general consensus that only Valyrian blood or those with Targaryen blood are the only ones who could ride dragons. For everyone to see Jon ride a dragon, especially those with this historical knowledge, it would sure make his parentage claim seem much easier to accept/believe should that become public knowledge.
I'd say more because it was George's ending for the main characters. He already built the platform years earlier, as to where the train would arrive. I always found it interesting that 4 of the top 6 GOT highest raw average rated episodes on IMDB, voted on by millions of people, came from a pool of 23 episodes that the screenplay writers were responsible for. That means that only 2 of the other 50 episodes, which had George's total control, made it in the top 6. But yet somehow, the screenplay writers took the hit by the people (I'd say mostly book readers who protested) with the sour grapes. Seasons 5,6,7 & 8 were the only 4 seasons that GOT won the best Drama Emmy too. Our author got beat out in the first 4 seasons, by a screenplay writer who was responsible for the show, Breaking Bad.
Verbal commands do help (not necessarily in Valyrian), also magical horns and whips and spells. But, in general, it's your lil magical mutations that helps to develop a bond with a dragon. - Sincerely yours, dragon expert
if you binge watch the show like you two have done you don't hate season 8 like the die hard fans at the actually start of the show. I think it has something to do with the long wait in between seasons ppl forget a lot of "little" moments early that were bread crumbs for what they show in 8 and I COULD have been done better but from my experience and from others who who straight up watched it all at once season 8 isn't the "dissepiment" that you hear.
the only thing about this episode that isn’t good is that there is only 6 episodes to wrap up the night king and cersei and they just wasted 1 of the episodes with reunions lol like yeah it was great but when you think about how much time they used up it’s like damn, 5 more 😅
Random and Idk if anyone ever told y'all but Cersei's actress and Bron's actor used to be date in real life. They went through a nasty breakup, so it's in their contracts that neither one could be in the same scene at the same time. That's why they're never shown meeting throughout the entire show lol... both characters lived through all 8 seasons and stayed in King's Landing pretty much the whole time but never spoke once. That's also why that weird Qyburn assassination scene exists
One of my main issues with this season which is especially noticable in this first episode is the dropoff in creative/realistic dialogue. It's like everyone is just doing what the story requires to wrap it up and create cheap drama with no point or consequences. And Tyrion endlessly saying dick jokes to varys killed me. He used to be clever and hilarious.
In your opinion, you should mention. I'd say you're nitpicking, because you hated the end. You're really being a Monday Morning QB. Funny, not one original reactor to GOT, you know the dozens that reacted to each episode as they first aired, that is those people that waited till the next week that the episode actually came out. Well, not one person had your opinion at the time. You know why? Because they were at least a month away before having any kind of sour taste in their mouth. There were a few, that didn't like the end, but they were a small minority of those original reactors. They didn't quite sit in a room of group think just yet to over-analyze stuff on season eight. Did you see these reactors say anything bad about the episode? Why bring on your sour grapes now? Please stop the manipulation, they only watched the first episode of season eight, Nostradamus.
The first time I watched this episode, I only had my phone to watch on. Because the screen was so small, I didn’t see the little kids eyes open. When I tell you that I just about just about died when he started hollering, I mean it 😂 Shit had me slumped.
@@Yorkie83It is objectively bad. Writing, pacing, etc... There are many reasons why that is. From lack of source material at that point to lazyness and lack of creativity and potentially time on the writers and/or directors part. But that's why opinions exist. I myself like movies and shows some would consider "bad." I won't knock you for having a positive opinion of a lackluster ending to a show.
According to the concensus anyway… it’s not season 1-4 that’s for sure… but I’m convinced part of the outrage was due to not being able to watch game of thrones anymore
