Unbelievable the history and knowledge Howard is able to share, just a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing, I believe more people would actually buy brass if they knew more about it. Most don’t understand it’s a much better product, not just the fact it’s made from brass, weight wise it pulls more and details are much better and higher quality motors. Educating the people and brass could be great again. Keep it coming Al and Howard- loving it. 🚂🚂

Great discussion of brass trains. There’s nothing like them.

Love your content. If you want to let Howard keep discussing and talking, I’m sure we will keep listening and watching. I can’t get enough of the education and discussion if you want to keep going. He won’t be around forever. No artificial time deadlines, please sir. This stuff is invaluable…let the camera run.

Gotta love brass! There are just so many prototypes out there that don't exist in die-cast or plastic.

I've always liked brass, both engines and rolling stock, never owned much because I was never blessed that much, or at least not in the financial way, but always admired it, not to worry, I enjoy the plastics and the diecasts about as much!

I was never a ' collector" of brass trains. The only reason I bought brass was it was the only way to get C&O steam locos back in the early nineties.

I have that late pfm crown peices that were C&O. They run so smoothly and they are bulletproof.

As someone who does work for hobby shops. I have had my hands on all types of locomotives. The mass produced stuff doesn’t last. I am also a brass collector. Part of my collecton was from my grandfather. I have a bunch of original pfm Shay’s they were run day in and day out on his layouts and they run better than a modern Shay.

Another terrific episode. I have become interested in brass as a direct result of listening to Howard. I have a relatively small layout so I can't run those gorgeous Big Boys or large B&O or C&O engines. I do have a couple of diesel switchers. Does Howard have any recommendations on upgrading the open frame motors and gearing on these old engines? Love what you're doing.

Yes there are 2 fellows we use to do this. One of them only works on trains Oct thru April the other is backed up and not taking on additional work . I will check more with Howard or email me at alpug1@verizon.net

I'm with you both 100%. My only problem is there aren't many prototypes, or many of the engines are no longer available, in my scale. Gotta love the Narr' Gauge.

There are tons of narrow gauge engines that were made. There is no shortage of narrow gauge engines. The problem is fitting modern technology in them.

@@barkonious I'm only aware of the models I've browsed on Brasstrains. I would love to own some brass, but I model the time frame of 1885-1910 east coast, and everything is mainly west coast.
