This video was created to help students with varying communication and developmental disabilities learn the steps during a fire drill. Working in schools I have seen many students have a difficult time with fire drills because they alter the schedule, can be scary and are unpredictable. However, with this video you can help prepare your students better!
To use this video optimally, stop and pause the video. Read the sentences together and then discuss each steps.
Fire Drills may look a little different for individuals with physical disabilities. For example, an individual who is in a wheelchair that is on a 2nd or 3rd floor during a fire drill may have a different evacuation plan.
