Turns out there's a reason Shouma/ Kamen Rider Gavv eats candy: Shouma is from an alien race known as the Granutes, who basically eat people by turning them into Dark Snacks. Shouma unlocked his powers by eating regular food, like candy. This show is basically the PG version of Kamen Rider Amazons.

I hope they go all in on the concept that the road sword seems to be pitching, wherein the roleplay toyline isn't JUST weapons and gadgets, they also double as playsets for the lil guys. It's an interesting blend of play, if nothing else. The worst they can do after the initial wave is backpedal on the silly, because that leaves the line in a weird hodgepodge instead of a pointed direction.

The lollipop mech looks like Wonka redesigned Ex-Aid's LV99 suit and the marshmallow suit is supposed to be a Sumo Wrestler type form, where he's strong enough to fight but soft enough to absorb hits without getting too injured.

Not gonna lie, i legit thought the potato chips form looked like a Gaim form using a Pringles Lockseed or something. I do love the way Chocodon's chestplate melts into a poncho shape, though.

Something could be said for the deepness of the snack theme, if they were go into their individual histories and cultural relevancies. That, and maybe some of the attacks will be based on cooking methods. Imagine a Rider attack based on boiling syrup, stretching taffy, or whipping marshmallow. Things could get downright barbaric!

I mean, I really like how Gavv has four different alternate forms based on what snack you put onto the belt the first one is chocolate candies the seconone is different lollipops and other hard candies. The third one is more about marshmallows and fluffy junk food and the fourth form is more sentient around chips

As much as I dislike Power Rangers, I don't think the brand is actually dying. If it was going to die that would have happened YEARS ago at the end of the Zordon era. They're just shuffling it off to another company which is not even the first time this happened. It moved from Fox to Disney and from Bandai to Hasbro so it's always going to be a thing regardless of what's happening behind the scenes or how much people dislike the current state of things.

I can understand not having time to watch shows. I've been going through the Gundam franchise since 2014 but due to all the RU-vid stuff i need to watch progress came to a crawl with G Gundam, which took over 2 years to get done. It's been 2 or more years since and i've still yet to start Wing cos i've been too busy.

Zero One was the only Reiwa show so far I liked (almost) all of it, not counting post-series stuff. Every other series so far I'm mixed on. Still hoping Gavv is good.

I may be wrong as I am slightly color blind but I believe that since Hibiki, purple riders have included Den O Gun Form, OOO Putotyra Combo, There's more if you include secondary/Tertiary/ extra riders, and I'm not even sure if you meant base forms only or if power ups and form changes were included in this. If it's just base form, then no I don't think we have had a main rider purple base form.

Geats was fantastic and I wasn’t impressed by Gotchard. I was hoping that we’d get another series styled like Geats again but I guess I’ll be skipping another year of Kamen Rider. At least I still have plenty of backlog to catch up on. Wait, Valentine’s Day is the most popular “candy holiday”? What about Halloween?

Feel like that this is Bandai testing which part of its toyline is popular. Gotchard had alot of its budget put into the DX toys themselves and tried out a cheaper more afforable gimmick. Gavv seems like the opposite, cheaper DX toys and more detail and plastic put to the gimmick. I legit dont mind this, if this makes more streamlined and effective Kamen Rider toylines in the future have at it and try new things out. As long as the show is good tho.

Yeah, I'm out on this one unless I hear the story is nuts like Gaim and Ex-Aid. Even the main rider design looks recycled from previous suits. I see elements of Ex-Aid in the undersuit, the Helmet looks like Live Jackal form, and the belt just looks like a retool of the Build Driver. The armor looks really plain as well, and the form changes just look hideous. Plus, the sentient critters make this look like another overly kiddy series which Gotchard only just skirted past. This honestly feels like it's going to be the Ryusoulger of Kamen Rider.

My point was that the main form looks like a generic mash of different, and previously used, suit design ideas without any real strong intention behind it. Honestly, out of all previous main rider forms, this is probably my least favorite.

Honestly I'm going to skip Gavv, it might be a similar thing with Revice, where it looked too ridiculous, but then after learning more about it after it ended, I regretted skipping it, but I wasnt on board with this when the leaks first popped up. A snack themed rider who's belt literally chews the gimmick, which are alive? I just instantly wasn't interested. Even after seeing the toys, gimmicks and now Valen, I'm still not interested in watching it. If anyone else is going to watch it, don't let this comment detour you from doing so, by all means go ahead, just speaking personally here and saying its a skip for me.

So far I have no strong feelings on Gavv except for the Chocolate form, I love it, Being chocolate and also a cowboy because why not, though I might be kinda disappointed if it doesn’t appear that much cause Valen ends up taking the little item.

I've just been unable to get excited for Rider since... I guess Zero-One. I watched all of Revice but that wasn't as satisfying as it could be. I just can't stand how much Bandai is stuffing into the shows and how it makes anything they add feel so... BORING and uninteresting. Who cares about the obligaory first quarter mecha that appears twice? Who cares about all those disposable form we'll never see from the first quarter? They're just go on to do a cavalcade of upgrades and then stuff the show with Premium Bandai bait. It's all... way too much. Nothing has impact anymore, nothing feels like they have any sort of strategic function. And the toys feel very random with little coherence to how they tie back to the theme. And you're spot on with this feeling less... grounded a theme than other show. This is like the cube thing in Zyuohger, it's very 'yeah sure whatever kids will like it'.

Gotchard is way worse than Saber. Abysmal and chaotic designs across the board. Boring belt gimmick. Boring collectibles. Plot that makes no sense. Horrible horrible pacing. Lackluster and one dimensional villains. One dimensional characters with barely any development across the whole show. Inconsistent writing. And the worst acted cast in the whole franchise. With the main actor the worst of them all.

I think I tuned out at about episode 23 or so cause I just got bored, and he had too many super modes without the proper buildup.
