Most modern wines aren't meant to be stored long term. 3 to 5 years is about it before they start to turn. But hard alcohol, unopened, will keep nearly forever.
I smoke cigars. When I go to the cigar shop, they usually ask me if I want matches. I don't use matches for my cigars, bc butane torches work really well, but I always say yes. I have hundreds of boxes of matches from them. Also the emergency matches I buy.
Also, as far as prepping goes, the line I like to use, and it actually got me on TV, is, "if you wait until you need to be prepared to start prepping, you're already too late."
There are people that will still be making alcohol and drug's to take and use. They know what to use to make the stuff. My Pop's taught us how to make home made beer using Alhambra water bottles, my neighbor used to make home made wine with huge wine barrels. I understand what you mean though it's a life style for a lot of people. It's way different from the 1970s from when I was a young boy when we were able to raise and grow are own foods.
Store stuff you will actually drink and enjoy. In a theoretical situation guys with stills making shine will have something of actual value and your bottles of sour wine won't be worth much at all.
the reality is very geographiocal...my sour wine may be the only alcohol for miles lol..plus I can make alcohol as well if I have the tools and materials...I do have yeast and honey as well so I have make endless mead...the wine is a rep[resenatation I maybe have 15-20 bottles max but I do also store spirits...
If u like sweet wine...my go to is anything from Stella Rosa ...u gota try it..the original is a sweet red wine...absolutely delicious. They also have a pineapple chile one now..cant really taste the chile but its pineapple and amazing!!
it will be alcohol even 50 years from now thats what matters im not looking to enter it into a taste testing competition...but thats fine its the idea of storing alcohol you can store spirits if you prefer...
well first would be a reusable water filter but I can offer a service that will not go bad I cut hair not everybody wants a shaved head you'd be surprised at the want for a nice haircut
I typically get lambasted for this but it’s really only healthy people who have to worry about ammo ,and a few necessities, for prepping. The people hoarding silver and so on for doomsday or a great reset probably are a little crazy. A huge chunk of Americans are grossly unhealthy and need a ton of medications and technology to stay alive. Someone requiring 5 daily meds, morbidly obese, or mentally/emotionally unstable isn’t going to survive a doomsday scenario…. Alone. They’d basically become a liability for everyone. No one’s going to fight zombies, werewolves, illegal aliens, terrorists, govt soldiers, etc… in order to find insulin. 😂 The most important thing one can do is take care of and maintain physical and mental health.
