I only recently saw this series, and it’s already one of my favorite Brony projects. I’ll definitely be revisiting it many times in the future I’d also love to see you take on Elements of Justice/ My Little Investigates. Both of those sound like a ton of fun!
Yes, YES! PLEASE cover MLP Elements of Justice! Its an incredible unofficial sequel series, maybe review it on a Case by Case basis, and then do a complete series retrospective when the series nears its end. Stay tuned because Case 3.2 is coming VERY soon 😉
5 months late but I got to say that it is lovely to listen to to sleep especially since you can imagine the story in your head with your eyes closed ^^;
I came across this series almost a year ago and I LOVE IT! I stumbled on the fanmade sequel to turnabout storm, got a little way through part 2 of the first case and when the prosecution mentioned Phoenix's previous fame in equestria before the trial properly began and I SCRAMBLED to find turnabout storm before I watched any further with Elements of Justice and I'm SO glad I did. Luckily I am a fan of both MLP and AA so I was able to get a lot of the jokes and My favorite one is still Pinkie saying Phoenix represents the spirit of Hair Gel! That one KILLS me everytime
I think this, along with Doctor Whooves and Assistant, was one of the first big fan projects I ever checked out in my early days in the fandom. I still remember checking em out years ago...seeing Phoenix put everything together with Mia, that was awesome. I myself was disappointed when NeoArtemis said he didn't intend to make a sequel. So when Elements of Justice was announced, I was hyped, and so far it's pretty good. A shame the Gold Crow wasn't able to reprise his role, but the new guy's doing a good job on his own. This was a nice in depth review. Well done.
The most wild thing to me is that I watched Turnabout Storm on a whim a couple weeks ago despite being around while it was still in development and having simply put off watching it for years. And then what do you know, as soon as I'm done, I see this video get posted. It's nice to see a fresh discussion on it right at the same time I experienced it. Scratches my itch for more AA x MLP just right. And yes, I've already seen everything of EoJ (so far) too. I have gone rabid for this series. I certainly wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on that either. The ending of Case 2 has the honor of being on the very small list of media that has made me cry. Countable on one hand.
I love how passionate this review is! ❤ Also, don't forget about the excellent novelization on FimFiction. It follows the original series pretty closely, but expands upon the relationship between characters and explains things going on in the background. And believe it or not, it is what made Fluttershy my favourite pony. The scene when she saves and comforts Phoenix in the Everfree forest is one of those unforgettable experiences for me.
So can I just say...when I first saw this series I was actually on the edge of liking BOTH MLP:FIM and AA but it wasn't until I saw turnabout storm that I fell in love with both! I can say from an outsider that fell in love with this crossover and eventually the other two series that this crossover was based on I am so thankful that it exists. I DO want to see you do a review of the "elements of justice" series and honestly if you do I will be ECSTATIC! Here is hoping from one of your newest subscribers!
For me, it was the reverse. Big Ace Attorney fan, knew about MLP but never wanted to watch it due to the... stigma around brony culture. Then I watched it. Admittedly, it took me like five years after to finally consume the series proper, but it was because of this series.
im glad that i'm not the only one who got into AA cause of this too! it is one of my favorite series on youtube to rewatch and i just rewatched it a few weeks ago and my love for it has not changed.
Like most MLP fan made content, I didn’t get into this particular one until I ran out of others that peaked my curiosity at the time. Turnabout Storm had introduced me to the Ace Attorney characters and the games they originated from, which I had no knowledge of in the past. So, I was mostly in this series from the ponies’ perspective. Upon watching the series, I mistakenly skipped the investigation portions, which I regretted the first time, but inevitably watched both parts via RU-vidrs’ reactions, which I was able to price everything together for the final parts.😅 In any case, I found myself (mostly) invested in the plot, rooting for the defense and being infuriated with Trixie as the prosecutor. All in all, I enjoyed this crossover series and went on with the Elements of Justice series (which I do recommend checking out and reviewing btw) and currently enjoying it as well. there was also a _bad ending contest_ the creator had planned to make which was I think it was after Part 3 or part 4 like a _What If Phoenix lost the trial_ however the creator did already confirmed the winner but did not showed it in public on who won the Bad Ending contest
I was a part of the Ace Attoeney fandom when this was being made, but not the My Little Pony fandom, which I think gives me an opposite perspective than most people who watched it. I came in just as confused by the world as Phoenix was, which was kind of fun. I can't say it made me all that interested in the My Little Pony community, but I remember thinking it was legitimately pretty good for a fan work, if a bit rough around the edges. By today's standards, I don't think it holds up quite as well as it used to, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's just a bit rough. I do think it's kind of cool how many people's first introduction to Ace Attoeney was through this crossover.
After watching the first episode of the first part of Elements of Justice's third case this video showed up in my recommended, it is great to see how well liked Turnabout Storm is yet again.
This review made me realize how in this Phoenix partnered up with 2 sides of Maya’s personality. Twilight being headstrong and passionate into the case and want to help Phoenix defend his client and even had a connection to it like Maya has many times while also questioning some of Phoenix’s actions. And Pinkie Pie with the most bubbly and giggly and out there side making wacky theories snd overall there being the positive, bubbly, fun one while also getting Phoenix unintentionally in trouble sometimes. Not saying Maya is a mash up of both, there are still differences but I like how he didn’t partnered up with Maya but still partnered with 2 sides of her.
this was a grate discussion with mlp g4 ending with 9 seasons with g4.5 in pony life and now g5 has started you will see alot of projects on the rise. I'm happy you're enjoying the fandom. love this content you have made, and I look forward to what comes next. /)(\
Wow, this was a really detailed retrospective on the series, well done! I started watching the series when there were only 3 parts when I was like 7, and it introduced me to the AA series as well. I grew out of MLP around season 6ish, but I'd always return to certain episodes and fan projects like this one. To me it's the best thing that the fandom has ever made. I will say that Solo Acapello's music contribution is highly underrated, I personally love Ticking Clocks Elements of Justice gets a lot of acclaim, but tbh the first episode wasn't really my thing, although I haven't seen it since it first came out. I do wonder if it gets better past that point though 😭maybe I'll give it another shot eventually Also yes, you should 1000% play My Little Investigations
I first watched Turnabout Storm when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I tough it was amazing but I was also..you know..10. So rewatching it around 6-7 years later, I was concerned it wouldn’t hold up to my nostalgic view of it. But it did!! It still holds up as an amazing fan project and art piece in general! And the unofficial sequel, Elements of Justice, has so far been amazing! I sobbed at the Case 2 finale. Just amazing.
Turnabout storm is really good I god me back into ace attorney after a long break from it. It is such a good fan project and anyone who has watched it should check out Elements of justice for more of the same it is very good fan made sequel to turnabout storm. This is a very good video looking into turnabout storm and getting people into it and I my humble opinion turnabout storm is the best made fan project (besides elements of justice) I have ever seen ever it is so good that I think deserves its own game it is just that good.
Few comment: -fuck it was 10 year old ago........................sigh -As a fluttershy fan, yeah the retranscription of Fluttershy was always a bit off even if it was a season 1 Flutter. -This is to me also the fan made that have introduced AA to me. -Bravo for your complete analyse! All the elements are here!!! -Finally concerning most unhelpful testimony between the "Hello, Hello, *squaw*" of Poly or the one of Ora Shipley.... Gilda isn't that bad... They even guessed a redemption of her before the season 9...
I may have only heard of Turnabout Storm and Elements of Justice, but despite my hatred for MLP and not being part of the brony and pegasister fandom, I never wanted to play Ace Attorney cause I like Danganronpa better.
