I would say that the new black and white restorations in 4K show a better uptick as the existing versions can look washed out - if they have HDR/Dolby Vision then the black contrast will usually look so improved- Double Indemnity was a relevation when it released. Sorry my lighting didn't show off some films behind me at their best the plastic cases can be quite reflective.

u probably still have 12 in screen TV from 1998😂 yeah DVD is ok, however doesn't cut it for you obviously not seen a 4k res 40in OLED TV....4k black n white films with Dolby Vision look beautiful.
