Basic storyline of the Ring Ride series: Dr. Robotnik has captured the animals, then injected all of South Island's rings with God knows what, and Sonic gets drunk, gets high, gets filled with lead, and turns South Island into a huge bouncy castle on his adventures to save the animals.

The first ring ride slows it all down. The second ring ride makes the colors of the rainbow look like changing the music from normal to relaxing. The third ring ride makes music distortion more fun. The fourth ring ride makes it more bouncier than I thought it would be.

The first Ring Ride isn’t about alcohol silly! Here’s the real story: After Sonic CD, Dr. Eggman isn’t satisfied with has time travel escapades, and has weaponized rings as a means of creating a parallel universe where he wins. What he doesn’t know is that every ring on South Island has been amplified due to excess experimentation. Sonic finds out about the schemes and tries to collect the rings before the Good Doctor can finalize his plan. However, Sonic Super-Sonic speed while running starts triggering the paradoxical effect. Now Sonic is seeing two potential timelines at once, and is obligated to determining which one comes to fruition.

I dare you guys to try this on an AtGames emulator XD Extra info for you: You can't pause in Ring Ride 1 for some reason. Getting over 70 rings in Ring Ride 1 makes the game slow down to a crawl; soon it'll be at half speed. The timer still moves at normal speed in Ring Ride 1. The special stage in Ring Ride 1 is fully affected. The special stage in Ring Ride 2 is affected, but the stage also glitches out on its own like crazy with scrambling graphics, so it's already nearly impossible to complete either way. The special stage in Ring Ride 3 is not affected. The special stage in Ring Ride 4 is fully affected, but since this one takes more rings to give the effect, it won't be as prominent here as in the main levels. Also, the "Hold A B C" message is all scrambled. Wonder why the second stage slows down in Ring Ride 2? Must be a residual effect from the previous stage's druggy effects. On my emulator (AtGames portable) however, the music was still playing. Whether you were using real hardware with RGB / HDMI modding or a different type of emulator, maybe that's what caused the complication.

Got this in my recommended and thought it was does it work on real hardware, I feel like these would be interesting to test!

Actually, yes, special stages get affected, but... Yeah. My favorite was the 2nd one, and when i enter a special stage, it looks unhappy and and the blocks will make a simple entire chaos. Yes, the effects are still there, the colors are changing depending of the rings amount, but the special stages are, in fact, broken.
