Welcome to my channel. The home of the series, #BDIWORH (But does it work on Real Hardware?). This is mainly a Sonic channel featuring reviews, game play or try outs of people's Sonic hacks or mods or fan games, other official Sonic games, and other retro games from the 16-bit era (and on occasion, some modern games). My name is redhotsonic (also known as RHS) and yes, it's an OC I created back in 2002, but I stuck with the name because I'm well known in the Sonic community! Enjoy yourself and if you want to see more in the future, do not forget to subscribe and show your support! Please be aware, even though I try to keep it at a bare minimum, there may be swearing in some older videos and any live streams.
Fun fact! I know this is 4 years ago but eh, on the 4.0b version of Megamix, if you go to the options and on Sound Test, select 17 and you'll hear Smooth Criminal by the legend MJ!
@@IceEnderman252 I actually had a DS ready but when it came to testing, the DS wouldn't even turn on and ran out of time to buy another. But I can confirm the DS results in the same outcome.
Hey @redhotsonic, I’m thinking of buying a sega genesis and I need to know the difference between a pal version and a nstc version. Could you help? Thx!
@@SpringlockedSociety In layman's terms, PAL is in 50fps and is slower, Genesis is 60fps and normal. PAL has a higher resolution but rarely utilised (Ristar utilises it and is optimised to go faster with frame skipping). If using an upscaler, go with either. If no upscaler and using on an older TV like a crt, go with the version your country used to sale. More info ru-vid.com/group/PL6sOIpFyShKOGdyn1xLEC_eClhy0vVvzF
The thing with those 8-bit Sonic remakes is they remove alot of stuff but add alot of stuff for compensation. I don't like that however, Super Sonic/Tails being here makes the game too easy. Sonic 2 was supposed to be a challenge, not a cake walk. Atleast here you don't get a giant ring on the start of the level (if you haven't 100% the save file that you're playing on) unlike the Sonic 1 remake. The removal of water bouncing makes Aqua Park act 1 less fun. Did i mention that the funny ramps which bring you to the end of the level in Sonic 1 that also exist in Sonic 2 don't exist? Yo where did Green Hills go?!!?!?! 🤣 oh it got replaced by Time Hills which the second act is Sky Chase all over again (seriously why). This port is rather a easier version with both added stuff and removed stuff. Tails sometimes doesn't want to fly, and thats pretty annoying in Aqua lake act 1 at the end which you will probably lose rings to that. Also both the remakes remove the exploration aspect for the Emeralds, this is rather more of a thing for the "Hold right to win" people, hey atleast you can still explore for lives and Giant Rings. Hyper Sonic/Tails is just a reskin of Super forms with different music. Crystal Egg zone now has the Green Hills fight. While Sonic 1 also got a bit too far from it's original game, the bosses for the extra zones are actually from the genesis Sonic 1 itself, rather than different 8 bit games which is nice 👍. The final fight of Sonic 2 used to be hard but the remake said no, here's your little S3K difficulty boss fight, sorry i meant the difficulty of a average Sonic Chaos boss fight. The boss of Time Hill is just a boss from Sonic Triple Trouble, expect it's way easier with super (as if it wasn't easy enough in STT with the infinite 1 ring). Sorry for the yap, but i just can't hold the hate for the stuff that it changes, adds and removes. I'm ok with you liking the remake, it's only my opinion. RHS is right, this is not Sonic 2 8-bit this is just a random fan game. Have a wonderfull day readers!
But @redhotsonic You know you could actually download the files of sonic mania for the decompilation and put it on the card and then you can play sonic mania on the 32X 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
Sonic 1 Sonic 2 Sonic 3 (Sonic CD) Sonic 4 (Sonic 3) Sonic 5 (Sonic and Knuckles) Sonic 6 (Sonic 4 Episode I) Sonic 7 (Sonic 4 Episode II) Sonic 8 (Sonic Mania)
The C button "un-crashing" the game also occurs in the rom hack "Sonic Code Grey" (i learnt this because I received a bootleg genesis cartridge of it as a gift) I have no idea how or why it happens.
So the American one is the Mega Mouse, and the Japanese one is the Sega Mouse? Considering how the Japanese console is called the Mega Drive, it would make more sense if the names were the other way around.
If I Had To Guess Why The Green Hill And Extra Lives Glitch Happened On You're Main Console And One Of You're Model 2's Is That It's Just A Japanese Thing.
An interesting thing happened with my apple TV. I noticed that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was running slower on my apple TV compared to my phone, the timer was not counting correctly either. It turns out my apple TV was on its default 1080p 50hz setting, I switched it to 60hz and it fixed sonic.
So, at 0:39, the reason why it wouldn't load up the game is because the Game Boy checksums the Nintendo logo, contained in the BIOS, and if it's wrong, wether it's been tampered with, or if the cartridge is dirty, it won't pass. If there's no cartridge, it's just a black box, and it won't load anything. So the pins were just dirty, and when you cleaned it with the Q-tips and some vinegar, it got a good connection, the logo was good, and it continued to the game.
