Idk if you guys know this but Darth Vader was heavily inspired by Dr. Doom as far as appearance mostly but other attributes as far as character development. That's probably the main bases for why this fight was made in case you were wondering since it was such a one sided fight
I love these guys at Screwattack, but what they're doing with this next Death Battle... it's stupid. They're digging themselves into a hole. If Goku wins, then they get accused of relenting under the yells and childish screams of the DBZ fanboys. If Superman wins, then they'll get accused of being biased against DBZ again, and they'll just have to make ANOTHER video when Goku gets his next new form. I'm glad people like Ris get this. There is NO WAY for them to win in this scenario. They should have just ignored the raging fans with nothing better to do in their lives but debate over something so trivial.
Rayquaoxys3846 I'ts actually a pretty good win scenario, at least in theory. Goku vs Superman brought in more traffic than any of their other videos, and I am betting they just want to see similar numbers again. That, and ever since the release of Battle of the Gods, fans have been all but begging for a rematch (deserved or not) and they are listening to the demand.
Rayquaoxys3846 they are making a huge mistake by doing this, i mean i know that goku's power is underated by them but if you dont have time to watch all over 200 episodes of dbz then you could be fooled into believing the calculations, and this is why these death battles are stupid
Rayquaoxys3846 They're opening the can of worms and pretty much rendering the original point of DeathBattle moot if they start allowing rematches and using different versions of characters, as almost every character in existence has multiple versions. And as someone else already mentioned, there's now a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan evolution of Goku. So if SSG Goku loses,, they're just going to cry foul that the most current, powerful version wasn't used. And Superman fans can essentially say the same thing since Superman has other variants. But weighed against the traffic they're bound to get for the rematch, it must be worth it to them. Oh well.
Nice. We get to see Superman brutally kill Goku for a second time. We also get to see the second coming of the butthurt DBZ fanboys who probably have not bothered to learn more about Superman during these last two years. Unless they decide to nerf Superman like crazy, there is no way Goku should be winning this. SSGSS or not.
Michael McCormick they don't need bring a non canon superman because now the continuities of post crisis and silver age are merged if you want to know why i say that search in google the crisis happened for a reason it's a meme.
D180223 They are using New 52 Superman and I've heard New 52 Sups is way way WAY weaker than his original version but still pretty string,so I think the battle will be closer. Goku will most likely lose tho.
Sharp Rich Dragon i don't know why all the people say that new 52 is weaker than the versión of death battle(post crisis) in death battle he can barely move the earth but in new 52 he move (whit help of martian manhunter) this ship that is way bigger than the earth. static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11113/111137388/4038349-6191041776-LHftX.jpg
I was delighted by this reaction. Gris, your usual self is always a refreshing perspective. I enjoyed seeing a reaction from someone with some knowledge on either character, especially since he was also your brother. I like the dynamic of open-mindedness you display for both characters along with the partial bias that Dean naturally has for his preferred character. You two should react to more stuff together. It doesn't need to be a death battle, just something that both of you would enjoy.
Ris Grestar does not discover big foot he has him as his brother. When he puts on a mustache he is a master of disguise. He is the most interesting RU-vidr in the world.
Now, to be fair to the butthurt Goku fanboys: they did leave out a few things when accounting for his strength, such as his ability to grow stronger after all his near death experiences and any training he did after Namek. That said, I don't think that would be enough to make up the insane power difference they calculated. I also don't think SSG would be enough to make up that insane power difference either, since it's not a form higher than SS4, but instead a form replacing it since GT is no longer canon. Goku does have a form higher than that called Super Sayian God Super Sayian (dumb name, I know) and I still don't think that'll be enough, but if they don't include it DBZ fans will get angry. Also, he just got a new anime that will be continuing after the movies and will likely include new forms beyond SSGSS, so if/when Goku loses, the DBZ fans will just ask for ANOTHER rematch with those new forms. Would those new forms be enough? IDK, anime is weird with how fast/slow characters grow stronger. For all I know DB Super could go all Gurren Lagann and turn them into galaxy destroyers within one season, or it could just make them slightly stronger than they were in DBZ.
GurrenPrime They are using New 52 Superman and I've heard New 52 Sups is way way WAY weaker than his original version but still pretty strong,so I think the battle will be closer.
You people are way way mistaken. New 52 Superman is just as powerful or even more so than Post-Crisis as he has shown better Strength, Speed and Durability feats. Goku is 99% fucked. He has one small chance of winning and that is teleporting away when Superman uses his Super Flare.
I also don't want the rematch to happen, because should Goku lose again, people will say "include Super Saiyan god Super Saiyan", and it will never end. Should Goku win, however, people will say that it was just to please the DBZ fans. But am i going to watch it? Hell yeah! I think it'll be a great fight
Kenny Martell probably not. Aren't they using New 52 Superman? Isn't that one weaker than Pre Crisis? I apologize for my lack of knowledge on Superman, but i'm a DBZ fan Lol. I always read manga rather than comics. I did watch a bit of Justice League though, but that's about 7-9 years ago lol
jonas thrane yeah I kind of find it odd that they're doing it now because Goku's getting a new series and Superman just found a new power after 20 years of just having the same thing and both of them haven't mastered their new powers so kind of an odd time for the battle.
Superman's still gonna win the rematch, even if it's Super Saiyan God Goku and New 52 Superman. Their feats are on completely different levels in Superman's favor. They don't need to do calculations, just show speed, strength, and durability feats between the two. Superman comes out WAY on top.
Connor O'Neill He didn't say Super Saiyan God, he said Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. SSGSS. It's another way of saying Super Saiyan Beyond God. They're the same thing. Also, pretty sure the hair is blue, not black.
Reno Anaru saiyan beyond god is more powerful than super saiyan god,but is less powerful than SSJGSSJ. it happens when a saiyan absorbs the power of SSJG and can use it in base form.if they can achieve THIS form then THAT'S when they can become SSJGSSJ and get the blue hair.because its in base form, their hair is black vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/dragonball/images/0/00/SBG%C2%B2.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20150419001525
From what I'm seeing in the preview of the next fight, I can only assume the next battle's going to be "Movie Time-Line Goku" (which basically ret-cons DBGT, so no SSJ4), versus "New 52 Superman" (which is a significantly different interpretation of Superman via DC Comics completely rebooting its own universe). So, I wouldn't really call this a rematch, as the characters' histories and experiences, as well as powers, are different from the last time around.
Ris, for a lot of people the reason goku vs. Supes was upsetting was because they used all the best stats for superman, but they used goku's ability early in the series for all of the multipliers, but since goku trains constantly he was soooooo much stronger by the time he reached any level of super saiyan that the numbers were just unbelievably low. Also for his speed they didn't take into account cinematic timing that dbz abuses and said he can only reach the speed of light in super saiyan 4 when he could reach it at the very beginning of the series. For a lot of people they weren't mad because goku lost, they were mad because they put such an inaccurate, underpowered version of goku against Superman and said Superman is stronger. Hope this helps explain the reason people want a rematch. Great videos. Keep it up
Squirrel Girl is officially the most powerful super being in all of the Marvel Universe. Hit one of her from New Years is the avatar of the death of the universe that she has trapped inside squirrel form. She has defeated dr. doom, Thanatos, and more. And all of it is 100% canon. Dr Doom's plan for Squirrel Girl is actually a button that will automatically teleport him to the moon so that he will flee his home country if she visits. Nobody messes with squirrel girl she is that powerful.
Same here when I saw the reveal of the rematch like I hope Ben knows what he's doing and I'm excited for the next fight but at the same time there are new fresh ideas like I would like to see Noel Vermillion (BlazBlue) VS Aigis (Persona 3) happening sometime in the future. :D
Victor Von Doom When I was eleven or twelve I wanted a Star Wars-y name for a Star Wars character (for a video game, one of the Jedi Academy ones, I think), so I flipped "Sir Guy" backwards into "Ris Yug." Later on, I joined a Star Fox forum and someone was going to start a Star Fox roleplay. I had never roleplayed, but I was interested, so I created a character. I didn't so much like the sound of "Yug," so instead I put my favorite color, "green," with my favorite (at the time) series, "Star Fox." So, gre + Star = Grestar. Yay, origin stories!
Thanks for pointing out that it's not Rock-Paper-Scissors... I'll use my own example... Just because Venusaur can beat Blastiose and Blastiose can beat Charizard... That doesn't mean that Venusaur can beat Charizard...
As a DBZ fan, i accept that Superman Prime is stronger than Goku God. Regular Goku < Regular Superman God Goku > Regular Superman [Even though would be an unfair fight] God Goku < Superman Prime What i think they´re going to do is like give em both their god/cosmic/superior forms and then blast all their powers at once and boom, all universes exploded, end of story. Please, lets stop the hate, both Superman and Goku are awesome at their own universes and premises.
this is probably gonna sound like a stupid thing to focus on but whenever you're making a video with your brother you should always end it off like this rather then cutting away to a shot of just yourself.... it feels more natural and it was kinda cool seeing him pose with you before the outro
Braden Cole Super Saiyan God is just a different version of Super Saiyan 4, cause GT is non-canon and Akira Toriyama wanted to re-write what happens after DBZ.
i dont care if goku loses 100 times against superman i only hope that they are doing the fight in a proper way because the original fight had too many flaws in both, the analytical department and when it comes to the depiction of both characters
I think they should do Dr. Doom VS Superman instead. I mean, Doom is REALLY overpowered in ANY universe; even Superman is nothing without his unfair-powers, whereas Doom killed a lion in one punch with NO powers at all.
No matter who wins Super Saiyan God Goku vs. Superman, Ben and Chad are going to need to be placed into the witness protection program. Also, I hate that Vader didn't win, I was pulling for Vader myself. Great video, I always look forward to your reactions on these!
I really think if you and dart would do more death battles together. Since listening to you guys go back and forth on different topics of the fighters sounded pretty neat and I would like to see it more in future death battles
the war will never, never end and since they add ssg (or ssgss) goku, they will surely add the god superman, which will end with another big blast of backlash so ... this war will never, never end (dissapointing slightly because there are so many possibilities to choose, and they rather choose these two, still waiting for the day when they dont go with mainstream/overrated characters but some surprising choice)
I agree. I don't think this rematch should happen. In my view, the results might end up being the same. I mean, based on the numbers they showed after the fight, I doubt that the God Form would be strong enough to contend with Superman at his top game. Hey, speaking of, whatever happened to your Let's Watch with the first Goku vs Superman? I was binge watching all your Let's Watch Death Battles recently and I noticed that one was missing.
Actually, vader can't use kinetite regularly (most likely ) due to the fact that a force enhancing crystal's presence was important for him to use it once
Hey Ris, I just found this out a few seconds ago and I thought you, and others, would find this pretty funny. I think you already know that Vader and Doom have a few similarities, want to know another one? They have both, in at least one point, fought a group of four which consisted of a blue colored leader, a flying red colored man, an orange, strong creature and a blond, human female. Clearly with Dr. Doom we know he fights the Fantastic Four, but Vader? Apparently in one of the comics, a group called the Rebel Four go to attack Vader, and are subsquently killed in ways that reference the powers. Yes, Starwars has it's own version of the Fantastic Four, and they fought Darth Vader. Search up Rebel Four if you want to see it, one image in particular will make it obvious that they are supposed to be the Fantastic Four.
To be fair, Superman seems to be updated, too. People pointed out that he has his New 52 look here, and that the New 52 Supes is even stronger than post-Crisis.
hi ris, i didn't grew up with dragonball nor with superman, but i think you simplefy the issue dragonball fans have with the deathbattle. they used math to calculate the mininum amount of strenght and durability goku has. they even say mininum in the video when they use the calculations and stuff. then at the conclusion, they suddenly call it goku's maximum output and durability. they also didn't take goku in his prime, since the weightlifting thing happened before goku was in his true prime. the most important thing is that instant transmission can be used under all circumstances, if buu didn't use it to dodge a lethal attack can also be explained by the fact that absorbing a ability doesn't mean mastery over this ability. he may also simply not have used it because its not a reflex for him and after you make contact with an attack, you will teleport it with you so it no longer has any use to transmit yourself. i myself agree with the outcome, i don't think that goku would've won. it just seems to me that they lowballed some figures and features.
Chaz Walser I usually look forward to every Death Battle, and while I AM looking forward to the rematch as well, but not in the same way as I usually am.
Great reaction guys! Your brother seems pretty cool! I was rooting for Vader though and yeah I agree with the outcome and what you guys said about the animation, should've had a reason for them to fight. For the next one, Superman is going to rek Goku, again. People seem to forget that Superman is still going in the comics and has recently been able to punch Braniac so hard that it harmed other versions of him in other universes. So yeah. Super Saiyan God isn't gonna change anything.
This battle really felt so one-sided to me. More so than most, if not all the other match-ups. I have no doubts that Anakin, if he had stayed on the path of good rather than turning to the Dark Side, would've had the potential to be nearly limitless in power and this may very well have been a completely different fight and outcome. Unfortunately that's something we may never know. The battle was entertaining nonetheless as they are two of my favorite characters, but the same faults of Vader's modifications that worked in favor of the Emperor in the Star Wars series definitely played a large role in Vader's defeat at the hands of Doom, as they benefitted him as well. Vader really never stood a chance. As they said in the end, Doom is in a league of his own. Great video by the way. Definitely keep it up.
***** the creature of dbz which ended in the 90s is continueing it in something called dragon ball super which is scheduled for the 15 in japan so if goku loses this time there will be another rematch when dragon ball super ends
Goku vs Superman rematch will be the 50th episode of Death Battle which will be end of season 2 of the show. From the lose - lose situation that ScrewAttack is in, I'm not sure if the series can go on after this battle. Just in case, RIP Death Battle...
***** superman is def stronger than thor, but superman is weak to magic. If thor unleashed his full potential and used a "god blast" then superman would be hosed (for the record in the jla/avengers crossover they do have a fist fight and supes destroys him but thor never used his magical attacks in that fight)
***** Supes sitting in the sun is what allowed him to beat Goku last time. Not sure about Thors invulnerability level, but I dount it can survive a planet bust. Hell, most DBZ characters can't.
Zukarinkuari Rimomeikashite Supes sitting in the sun isn't what let him beat Goku. The animation is only for entertainment and not meant to represent how the fight would actually go.
Hoax Slayer No, its how the animators and crew think a fight would go if the fighters were able to use most of their powers. Its fan made and not canon, a fact that fans are too stupid to accept apparently, causing me to come in and explain.
As much as I think the rematch is a waste of time, it makes sense. Their Superman vs Goku was controversial, and HUGE! It got people who weren't into Death Battle into Death Battle. This is a smart move to bring in more veiwers, so don't call them idiots for doing this rematch. They know very well what they're doing.
There have been two movies, Battle of Gods and Revival of F and their is a new Dragon ball z show that just started this week called Dragon Ball Super so its still going
The problem with the next battle will be the fact that the anime has now continued so there will be new power up and abilities. Do a rematch after the anime is over or don't do another one.
I just wonder how the heck Qui-Gon or any Jedi for that matter could have thought it would actually be a GOOD thing if someone brought "balance" to the force... Considering to the best of their knowledge at the time, the Sith were wiped out. And there was only like... ten thousand Jedi. Doesn't that rather obviously imply that balancing it would be rather disastrous for the Jedi?
Just to clear things up with people. SSJG goku is stronger then the blue goku because its not a real god transformation. This is why they are using red goku. Ssjgssj is when goku has the energy absorbed and transform into a super saiyan. SSJG is when goku has the god energy and transforms into a god. Im interested in how they are going to handle this tho. Seeing dragonball still isnt the most obvious series out there. Especially now that there's a completely new series coming out there which is probbably gonna make goku even stronger then he is now.
But in the movie with the blue haired goku frieza said to goku show me your best and he turned into the blue haired one so isn't ssgss the best please correct me if I'm wrong
No they use ing da ssjssjgoku and I think hes stronger its commen sence or just logic cause its like hes a stronger god but in his normal god form is weaker Btw I didn't watch da revival of f yet and I don't know ALOT about dbz but I've seen da whole dbz and some of da movies and some gt
I completely agree on GvS2. I don't LIKE that Goku lost, but I understand WHY he lost. Both have spent years training, but Superman's power is limitless, whereas most of Goku's transformations, drain his energy quicker than actually fighting does.
Again errors in the data 1. This was not the Incredible Hulk. It was the Cosmic Hulk robot. 2. Mind the transfer has nothing to do with magic. he learned from aliens. PS: To "Long Story" Reed and Dr. Doom defeated a Super Alien. This hatsich avenged. So Reed was transferred to Doom armor. And Dr. Doom on the other planets. (Artificial Earth)
I just hope they use accurate stats on Goku this time around. I don't mind that he lost, I just want them to seriously research his stats. For example during the Buu saga Goku and Gohan are taken to a plan by the Supreme Kai in order to get a magic sword. Gohan is able to lift it and wield it rather well. S.Kai materializes a large cube of what he calls he densest stuff in the universe. It's most likely close to the dwarf star material in weight (he DID say densest after all) and seeing how big the cube was Goku is definitely WAY stronger than they represented him as.
There are a few things that should be considered for Superman vs SSJG Goku. If this is an actual REMATCH taking place from the last deathbattle, then Goku would know that Superman gets his powers from the sun and he could use instant transmission to teleport him to a place where there is no sun. Like the Hyberbalic Time Chamber. But if it's not a rematch and just another fight, then Superman wins hands down. Even if Goku is a god, he still haves limits to his powers. The only upside is, Goku doesn't depend on anything to increase his powers and he doesn't have any physical weakness.
if everything is updated as it should then superman has a new power, the solar flare, its his most powerfull attack but he can only use it once then he becomes human for 24 hours,if goku uses transmission to get out of the way then superman might have a problem,we‘re talking mr satan would be able to take him down
Minleyx1 Well, if it were a rematch, Supes would also know better than to hold back the entire time and waste his solar charge by prolonging the battle.
tacoman422 but if it were a rematch then goku would be aware of how strong superman is,goku can read minds and the new superman doesnt have strong mental blocks like the other version
Minleyx1 they're not going to have Goku win because of foreknowledge of Superman's powers from the previous fight. That would be retarded. He'll win without it, or he'll lose without it.
Highly dense materials can resist lightsaber blows, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to think Doom's suit couldn't. At least it wouldn't get sliced very quickly or easily.
I agree completely with you ris that goku vs superman rematch is a bad idea right now I mean if they do it Now before the new series ends they can leave themselves open for another rematch where goku is even stronger then presently plus if they thought super sayian was hard to measure how do they plan to scale the power of god more when no one can sense it or that god more added to his super sayian after the fight
Anyone feel there needs to be a system in place to keep comic book characters who are written to be too powerful from outright dominating more sensibly-powered ones? 1. Have a point-for-point system when it comes to powers that way both sides have an equal array of abilities to draw from and things aren't so unbalanced. 2. Don't power scale combatants to the point where they're invincible otherwise you'll have some ridiculous counter-balance such as the Fantastic Four being on the same level as Galactus because they've managed to defeat him before. 3. Focus less on victories from each character's respective universes and more on who has the superior techniques. Anyways I feel this is what would eliminate the one-sided outcomes that often come from these kinds of battles. Yeah the next battle is definitely a no-win scenario for Screwattack. Even if it's a draw there's going to be some rage.
hey Dean, i was just about to go watch the original react to superman vs goku, only to find out that it has for some reason bin removed. could you either re upload it or give me a link to the video on another website? it was one of my favorite episodes by you and it would be awesome to watch it again.
If Goku is going to win this, I will rage so much to them until they make a Death Battle, at which Yoshi defeats Super man, Chuck Norris and Kirby at once.
***** I totally agree that they shouldn't do Superman vs. Super Saiyan God Goku, although it may be interesting to know who would win if Super Saiyan God Goku was used, you may want to prepare for the comments in that videos if you make one on that death battle (which I presume you will maybe)
Oh, a guest for this Death Battle. Unexpected but not bother :). Honestly I expected Vader to win because of how many people love Star Wars (me not being one of them get quite bothered when Star Wars characters win just because theyre so popular). Plus I had no idea DOom was so OP. Seriously, can we nerf him or something?
Hey guys! Did you know that Death Battle doesn't take into account all of a character's powers? They just take some of them. (I still love watching it though.)
i have to admite this doesn't make sense because the force is not telekinetic so dr dooms suit means nothing i can even explain it because screw attack didn't give much insight on how the force even works. The force is an energy field created by any thing thats alive it surounds us, penetrates us,and binds everything to gether .....and when i mean to gether i mean life itself so the force is already what dr doom producing. so therefor he can be manipulated at the forces will. If some of you dont beleive me its mentioned in star wars 4 and in the extended universe.
Actually there are beings that are "immune" to the force in the star wars universe. The Yuuzhan Vong couldn't be force choked because they weren't a part of it. Dr Doom being disconnected from the living world is very very similar.
The Goku vs Superman rematch is just for entertainment purposes only but there will be ANOTHER rematch regardless of who wins or after Dragon ball Super is done.
My thoughts, on the fight, I was going for Vader but understand how Doom won so I'm good, as for the next DB, Screwattack, Ben, and Chad are in some serious trouble because like you said, if Goku wins, the Superman/DC fanboys will say that they were just silencing the DBZ fanboys and if Supes wins, well, DBZ fanboys will rage even more, it's a lose lose situation. As for having your brother Dart joining you, you should have a guest star more often
What happened to the reaction you did to the first matchup between Goku and Superman? I tried to find it but all i get is that the video was deleted. I do not care what happened I already saw it, but I just want to know so I would know.
Question. Since this is a rematch, don't they have knowledge of each other? Also, didn't they destroy a planet? Where are they fighting? Why was Goku in the Snow? What the @#$% is going on?!
