After the events of the Fated Clash of season 1, life seemingly goes back to normal for our cast of characters. That is, until Gabwelius suddenly gathers the 6th contestants and unveils shocking truths regarding the origin of the Fated Clash and the menace of Sybill, who then summons them to the fated arena once more. Let the Destined Showdown begin!

My thoughts on the start of Season 2: - It does the job of setting things up, even giving us a minor fight with a new card. (I theorise Akina’s attempt to superior call a PG foreshadows something that’ll happen later in the season cause his first ever cardfight foreshadows Rezael’s abilities). - We didn’t get the rules on how the Showdown works, but we know the truth behind the Clash. Even Gab had a wish, and he would get it regardless who won. - I theorise that based on how the Destined Ones were presented by Sybilt and how the Fated Ones appeared in the opening, that subtly foreshadows the fight matchups of the season. (Similar to the opening of season one, where the character’s order of appearance foreshadowed the order of their elimination except the MC). - A dark ironic theory I had before the season began: Sybilt was Gab’s past lover, and I even theorised their voice actors were married in real life. Guess I was wrong, but I’m excited to see the Gab and Sybilt cards someday. Overall, a great episode to start with and I can’t wait for the rest of the matches. After my brief sebatacle on the series.

Probably due to copyright fears I get it but man, I wish could see y'all's reaction to the opening cuz HOLY it's most 🔥 one we had in a while. We back and starting things strong lezzgetit. So basically Sybilt is like the second coming of the Void, aka an evil sinister force without a physical appearance. A man it's gonna be hella awkward at the Myoudo household lol. Your sister that you desperately trying to safe turns her back on you. Also I love all the comments and memes about Masanori being on the "wrong" side lol cuz what Sybilt talks about mankind's selfish desires is exactly what Masanori's been preaching.

@@jremydadude6238 Hit the nail on the head, definitely a banger op but decided to not review it for fear of copyright. Just glad I can do these reviews at all without copyright! I will say Sybilt feels cool as a villain in his demeanor, as unlike Gyze or the Void or GUI there's more humanistic emotions and petty flaws which is a nice change of pace. Yuuuuuuup they not saying more than "hi" on the way home 😂 Masa was cooking yo, I wonder what Jinki will do to add to the conversation 🤔

@@godsman00 Since Gui had a change of heart in the finale, what if the chosen one is Gui not Jinki? He's just using Jinki to interact with the physical world. This would explain why Jinki's eyes were glowing in the OP. Gui using Alden would be quite amazing. He's using his master's avatar to essentially be a second Michiru and ensure that Vanguard's future is safeguarded.

Opening looks hype and the animation looks cleaner now. Suo funniest moment is so relatable, woke up and wants to fight 😂. Now even we can't even predict who's fighting line up now because of next episode.

Ok we have a clear picture of the overarching plot in all this now, but may not be the full picture yet. I think there's more that hasn't been covered yet in Gabwelius' story, and that Griphogilla is still connected to this outside of being the catalyst. It being a catalyst and Jinki being a Destined Fighter can't just be a coincidence. Sybilt being able to corrupt others is similar to how the dragontree spread its influence through the masque units as well. And that could be what's going on with the Destined fighters, maybe Sybilt corrupted them to take part into this. But we don't know if that's the case or how far the corruption is cuz they still seem in character, so maybe they're just corrupted enough to make them participate in all this so not fully corrupted. It's hard to say if all of them got corrupted though, I don't think Jinki would've agreed to this so maybe he's acting like Masanori's role. Kuon doesn't strike me as what Sybilt described him, wanting infinite knowledge, I don't think that's the infinity he wants unless there's more to that. The opening was showing fights that weren't all the rivaled fights we thought, so either the opening is misleading or the Destined Showdown matchups r gonna be random and be as the op suggests, and the rival matchups are saved for the endgame. Cuz the opening showed and suggested Hikari vs Taizo, and Hikari vs Suou at the end scene, both cases would be interesting. A fight between pseudo partners, and a grudge match that never came to be. Suou rly has devolved from an emotionless emo, to a cardfight thirsty emo. I'm also wondering if there's actually some hidden history between Suou and Kuon, the op had a brief scene showing kid Suou and someone else we don't know, could be Kuon if so. And Suou could've just forgotten about him due to his trauma state.

Oh yeeeahhh, we are so back!! I missed the day where you reacting the previous season's episodes, really looking forward to see how this season gonna unfold~ Anyway, I thought that they will reveal the slight plot of the Destined Ones group in this episode lol (like, are they tempted by Sybilt's offer or are there some kind of mind control involved), but hey, at least we will get our first fight of this season next week, featuring (optimistic) Suo vs Kuon. Also, I hope the OST at 21:03 get used a lot this season XD really love the piano and dreaded vocal in it.

I think I'm the only Italian among the comments to follow you. I want to say that you are very nice and as soon as I discovered you I was glued to this channel. I became passionate about the Vanguard anime when it was broadcast in my area and from then on it was love at first sight, then after two seasons it no longer arrived dubbed in Italian, so I had to watch the series from Link Joker to Divine Z in sub putting the Italian subtitles even if they weren't perfect, and I got used to seeing the reactions of the RU-vidrs who talked about it. Keep going because thanks to you and your community I can keep up to date. Every time you make a reaction I rush to see it and then scroll down through the comments translating them because this way I notice things or situations that perhaps I had missed. A crazy theory I have is that when it comes to the Jinki vs Masanori fight. It will be something like this: Jinki wants to protect the world of vanguard that Shingi loved so much and he wants to make up for the whole issue with the uniformers, Masanori will do his whole speech about just wanting chaos because thats what he finds fun but I also like to think after Toya and seeing the uniformers, Masanori thinks it was a necessary evil and that nothing can be protected forever. And when he wins, since his wish was to bring someone back from the dead, he would wish for Jinki's brother, Shingi to be back to life or maybe its how Michiru gets out of coma.

So the Sybilt is basically like Void from the OG, if not the same Void itself or its another "avatar" like Link Joker. Tbh, I wouldn't surprised if Gripho was actually one of Sybilt's puppet. Maybe she found Gripho as a lonely and dying seed lost in space then corrupted or manipulated it, promised it power and the chance to restore its race (like Leon Soryu in the OG) as well as taught the little flower how to corrupt other units like her old friend Star-vaders so Gripho can stir the pot in Cray while she quietly hiding in Earth and scheming for a greater plan.

@@godsman00 Yeah, as we can all agree, in card game anime, most of the time the characters and their own avatar are usually connect or reflect each other in some ways. In this case, Gripho's user is Gui who is a high iq AI with the mind of a innocent young child. Gui had a great and noble goal but his way to execute it was deem questionable and quite brutal by others. Does that sound familiar? Yeah, it remind me of Leon Soryu, who was so obsessed with his goal to restore his clan's glory, so blinded by his own ideal that he was so close to throw his morals out of the window. Then, because of the parallel, I can't help but wonder if Gripho has the same case with Gui since through the cards he put in the ride deck, we can see that the Gripho we had was just a newborn, a young seedling has just started his mission as soon as he sprouted (I know the g1 shows a full grown dragontree shoots out the seeds to other planets, which kinda deny my theory, but that can also be a test run to see how well the dragontree perform before start the real plan on Cray). And because Gripho seem to be a young child acting on his instincts, I wonder how he can overpower the whole planet so easily. Is it because his race's abilities has already been so powerful like the Xenomorphs from Aliens or is there someone pulling the strings from behind? Another factor to consider is Sybilt's mind corruption ability. Many has theorized that she has slightly corrupted the Destined Ones's user just enough for her to mend their way into joining her side voluntary. Isn't that sound like the Masques, who seem like, other than the "To get stronger" motto, still has their own life and individual goals? Rather than the cult of Gyze, they more like partners in a business club. So I think the same theory can be applies to the Masques as well. That's the reasons why I think it's possible that Gripho can be just a puppet by Syblilt or someone else, like how Void has influenced Leon in Asia Circuit or how Don Thousand deceived the Brian Emperors (the poster big bad gang) in Zexal (I know Vector is an a**hole from the start, but we can all agree that DT has messed up his life from birth)

I just love it evreytime it gets revealed that Cray is real. At this point you would think it would be just a known fact with how often it happens. Although, this still runs on the same timeline from the start of D , right, or did we hit a reset again at any point? With how many times continuity in the anime has been reset over different arcs, (original, v, shinemon, shinemon g, ( which was a different version from regular g) and now d), I have kind of lost overview of the situation. I know Cray has progressed 3000 years but earth seems to be still roughly the same time period.

And also SUO VS KUON ALREADY?! I wonder if its a exhibition match, cuz I can't imagine they battle officially that early? Idk we'll see... And I'm curious if its ONE member from the winning team who gets the wish OR if ALL the members (regardless if they won or lost) get a wish together. The OP is PEAK! ED is cute . But also one thing I noticed in the review, don't sleep on Masanori! He's always plotting something in the background and I think he's gonna spring something later on or mid-season... But this season is gonna amp things up so much and I'm ready!!!

This is a great opening, I'm so happy to have Strawberry Prince do the opening again their songs are always a banger and the visualizes amplified it greatly. I appreciated the explanation of the lore now even if it still isn't complete it explains a lot, and I just find it funny that Masanori feels like he's in the wrong side lol. I'm very excited for Senka the most but I'm actually excited for a Destined One for once since I wasn't really into any of the Fated Ones, can't wait for Supremacy Lisciafel, Yuna seems cute so far I hope they do her personality and story well especially her dual personality with being an Otaku weeb and a prim and proper student council member. I want Senka to win against Nao, I like Nao but Im not a die hard fan I've been hyped for Senka and I want Yuna to win because Lisciafel ofc and Jinki needs an alden win lol

Something I realize recently that it gotta suck for the writers having a protagonist with a grade 3 avatar. But they’ve done a good job with keeping things fresh and in my personal opinion lucky but not solely reliant on luck

In my theorise the match-up result of the destined showdown may be like this suo vs kuon : kuon win (obvius lol) masanori vs jinki : masanori lose mikoto vs yuna : mikoto win (we don't need second sandbag girl just megumi is enough.) taizo vs kyouma : taizo win (he can't afford L anymore its too much for him.) nao vs senka : nao win akina vs hikari : akina lose (even akina lose but he can release hikari form civilt manipulated.) and tiebreak akina vs kuon

First episode of this was very hype. Honestly, after G first season I didn’t think I’d have the energy to continue watching vanguard but the first divinez season was very good and a great change of pace. Also, supremacy girl def gonna show some Yandere vibes in her fight

Suo loses next week to establish how OP Infinity is. Nao also loses, earning the team 0-2. Then Mikoto and Taizo evens the score. Masanori loses because of surprise Grypogila and Akina makes it 3-3. Akina and Kuon in the final round.

Gripho then needs to become Keter because Jinki's Avatar is Alden, the Same Alden.that rides alongside Bastion, specifically after he bridged Keter with the rest of United Sanctuary grounds becoming the Sword that Connects Heaven and Earth, and since Gripho was "destroyed" by Stravairina, don't see it if it comes back as anything other then a DE unit
