The pere Marquette 1225 will be more happy rolling and running in the mainline.

Glad to see that 1225 is still operating today, but I would love to see it operate mainline excursions at track speed more often. It hasn’t operated mainline excursions out of Michigan since 1991 when it attended the NRHS convention at Huntington, WV with the NKP 765. I already know for a fact that it’s easily capable of hauling a 25-30 car passenger train at 55 mph, but I would love to see it happen in person. I also miss the white accents on its driver tires and boiler lines “Which 765 wears today.” That would really be something else, don’t ya think? @SteamRailroadingInstitute
