A performance of 'Let Us All Press On' during the 192nd Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 1-2, 2022.
This song touched me more than any other in general conference has before. Especially since it followed Pres. Nelson and it was clear that many of the members of the choir were feeling it too. So powerful and beautiful.
Lyrics: Let us all press on in the work of the Lord, That when life is o'er we may gain a reward; In the fight for right, let us wield a sword, The mighty sword of truth. Chorus: Fear not, though the enemy deride (ridicule); Courage, for the Lord is on our side. We will heed not what the wicked may say, But the Lord alone we will obey. We will not retreat, though our numbers may be few When compared with the opposite hosts in view; But an unseen pow'r will aid me and you In the glorious cause of truth. If we do what's right we have no need to fear, For the Lord, our helper will ever be near; In the days of trial his Saints he will cheer, And prosper the cause of truth.
When I was 12, I was "too cool" to sing in primary. It was the early 80s and I was into a special era in BYU football. Then the primary music leader taught this song. I envisioned myself bravely battling as underdog and God cheering for me every time I made a right choice. It forever changed my heart ❤️.
Wow, how can you not take courage. The most powerful rendition of this song I have ever heard. Sounded and felt as if there were a heavenly host singing along side them.
We sang this rendition in our ward choir and I swear the angels were singing with us- Our choir director told us to envision as we sang, that the first verse with just the men singing was missionaries, just meekly giving it their best day after day- the second verse was their mothers, adding their prayers for them, and that the third verse was the angels of heaven swooping down and blessing their efforts and magnifying them. Man did we sing that, song great!!
I am an inactive of the church and ran across this song several weeks ago. I love it. I listen to it every morning to get my day off to a good start. This is the most beautiful arrangement of any hymn I think I have ever heard. ❤
The world is our trial ground so if we listen to a prophet voice and continue our duty and magnify our callings I know that heavenly father will help us to endure to the end and meet them in celestial glory 😊
I am an active member, and I love this version of the hymn. I listen to it several times each week too. I then sing it in my head as I go about my day.
😮 yo hace tiempo estoy inactiva sin embargo escucho siempre los himnos que aunque sea un poquito me acercan al Señor y de ahí quien sabe se vuelva a producir el milagro
The choir was singing so beautiful and wonderful up until minute 2:02 ....then something happened, something extraordinary happened, it was as if the veil parted and the host of Heaven joined in.... the strength and power of the Spirit bearing witness of the Lord, is palpable; it was a preview of things to come!
I am crying in the bridge part of the hymn. I am struggling and doubting my faith. But the lines "we will heed not what the wicked may say but the Lord alone we will obey" really hits me. I am thinking of being less active and because of this hymn my faith regrow.
Turn it up LOUD and fill the whole house will this anthem. Not only will you be FILLED with joy but the evil one will be gone. Sending love to everyone!
The word powerful does not even do this song justice. This rendition truly embodies hope, reassurance, strength, and the call to rise. Thank you choir for this song. It is a gift to us all.💗
It does! We just have to remember that the more difficult things get, the more opportunity we have to show our faith to god! With uncertainty comes hope!
This was so moving and such a powerful declaration of reverence and love for our Master and His work, as the Prophet Joseph Smith declared, “Shall We not go on in So Great a Cause?”
the lack of clapping and yelling after the song is such a great thing. The wisdom of it is self evident. This Church custom is of the highest value. Yes, some viewers may find it strange to not have the congregation express their appreciation, but no, this is a great protocol. Just sit with the pleasure of the performance, don't ruin your aural palate with clapping
This arrangement of this hymn was powerful and beautiful and to have it sung right after President Nelson’s talk was perfect “ in the glorious cause of truth” is my favorite line of that hymn Several of the choir members had tears in there eyes as they where singing.
I can hear every voice as One , it is beautiful and Powerful magnifying and sustaining . I'm speechless to explain how beautiful you all are , a refiners fire reaching in and leaving my troubles behind. Thank you the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.
I looped this hymn on here and I’ve now listened to it 11 times and will continue to play it until my brain melts…this rendition is so powerful coupled with emotions seen in the choir as tears are seen shed ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I did the same with the BYU choir version of “Come thou Fount” from the late 90s 🤙🏽♥️❤️
I've had a drug addiction problem for sometime and I've really struggled with it at times! I grew up in the church to a good family but I slipped a few times recently! This song is one of hope and courage which I need at this time! Thank you choir for all you do! To anyone out there please say a prayer for me?! I have a testimony of my savior and know he has bailed me out way too many times.❤. I just want all this behind me for good!!

As we are surrounded by evil everywhere, this song gives me courage, and that we are not alone, and though we are few in numbers we must be big in faith and actions❤️
We must remember to seperate evil actions from the people doing them! personally, i struggle a lot with this. But once i remembered they are all children of god, i stopped being angry, and became happy instead. Dont worry, better times will come :)
I played the 12 string yesterday , the sounds and as I play i prayed , and ask the lord for answers and , asked the lord do you love my music , no answer for I be inspired to play and feel it a great blessing for my brain injury to receive relief from my symptoms. As I be playing i pray ask the lord do you love my music no answer and I had to work hard to keep playing for the advisory , give me Dought I should stop and I was confused ,that the lord didn't answer my question in my prayers playing and I put it aside thinking I'm having a bad moment , it be better tomorrow. The answer came last night , still small voice as Jesus Christ knows the desires of the heart , to answer my question , and my question was answered Patrick I love you My brain injury can be confused thinking Jesus Christ loves me because of my music being the conection of why he loves me. Tha church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. So I'm inspired today if I play I know the reason why I play music.
Even if you dont plan to be LDS in particular, the spirit of the hymn is good. The Divine is real, and we should only be devoted to the divine and ignore the distractions of those who appear undevoted to the Lord and goodness
2:40 They Sounded so wonderful the ending of it was amazing with that harmony and also with the orchestra It touches my heart thanks for singing this one 3:38 Its my favorite of it at the end of that peace
I pray that righteousness will reign forever and ever…please God, bring it back to this earth, soon. For now, we must press on, and be happy as we live our covenants.
that was a masterpiece ! I know we are all used to the Tabernacle Choir never disappointing but this hymn just hits different ! definitely in my top 3 all time favorite tab performance along side with How firm a foundation 2012 and Come thou fount of every blessing (2011)
Publish this song so we can use conference version. Music with organ background is clearer than with an orchestra. I prefer it because I can hear the words and sing along!
"We will NOT retreat though our numbers may be few when compared with the opposite host in view. " They are there all around us now, but "COURAGE, for the Lord is on our side!!!" "We'll not fear the wicked nor give heed to what they say, But the LORD alone we will obey!!!!"
Bello himno...de mucha inspiración. Espero algún día, si Dios lo permite, poder escuchar al coro en vivo, es un sueño que le pido al Señor poder hacer realidad alguna vez...un gran abrazo y miles de bendiciones desde Santiago de Chile...
I, like that woman that, looks like CAROL BURNET. What, a sweet, sweet Soul& I, like when her face lights up.She looks like kind whom loves the LORD#####
I listen to this daily, inspiring, especially with this ending to see the choir members singing so wonderfully on the last note, just awesome! Love the TAB choir!
