❤ Danke Joan, dass Sie uns mit Ihren Liedern immer noch so grosse Freude bereiten. ❤. Ich höre Ihre Lieder seit 50 Jahren und bin ein grosser Fan von Ihnen. Eine tolle Frau !
Yes Joan, May we come together, learn together, share together, arise together, heal together, and awaken together to all that divides us, diminishes us and disables us from living in love! Thank you Joan for being that light of love that guides us in achieving this. You are a blessing in our lives! Let us break bread together on our knees, (on our knees) Let us break bread together on our knees. (on our knees) When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me. (on me) Let us drink wine together on our knees, (on our knees) Let us drink wine together on our knees. (on our knees) When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me. (on me) Let us praise God together on our knees, (on our knees) Let us praise God together on our knees. (on our knees) When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me. (on me) Let us praise God together on our knees, (on our knees) Let us praise God together on our knees. (on our knees) When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy if you please. (if you please)
Joan thank you so much for all of your compassion and kindness. I love your at home songs. Reminds me of my Father who passed away 2 yrs ago. He was a great musician and teacher. He taught me your version of Long Black Veil. God bless and stay safe.
I thought about you a lot these days Joan, I needed to listen to you, your music makes me feel good to my soul.. 57 years have passed since Washington and the fight continues but WE SHALL OVERCOME!! I love you Joan and thanks for this words and song. ❤️❤️✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
Oh so many thanks for excisting Joan!!!...your words and music are always moving to my core, and awaken us and are healing. My eyes are always brimming over with joy and love, even in the worst conditions...love from Uruguay, Judith
I grew up with your beautiful songs and timeless messages. You are still as beautiful as ever and your wonderful voice is much needed today, just as it was in the sixties. Music heals. Take care, God bless and thank you. Your goodness always shines through!👏🏻🎵🎶🎸🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻
I haven’t thought about this song in years. For those of you all who aren’t church goers, this song describes communion in the kind of church I grew up in where a loaf of bread and a glass of wine were passed among us and shared, each person taking a sip from the glass and a pinch from the loaf. The combination these images and the meaning today of “taking a knee” strikes home for me even though my own church going days are long past. There’s so much more you can unpack from this song as it points us towards hope, communion, and a bit of humility as we deal with our grief and rage. Inspired choice, Joan.
@Brenda Carter Hey Brenda. Your words really hit home. I commented in the thread that I used to sing this song 40 years ago as part of a folk group at Catholic Mass. My Church going days are also long past, but I was VERY fortunate, even then, to have very positive influences in my life. My Parents and my Aunts ( my Mom's Sisters who we were very close to) were all pretty left of centre, and the Parish we belonged to was, what I would describe as, quietly left of centre. Lots of Social Justice initiatives and whispered Liberation Theology. And ya...the loaf of bread and ceramic wine glass. We used to sing several of Joan' s songs ( not her writing, but songs she often sang), like "All my trials, Lord", "Let us break bread together" and "We shall overcome". It was post Vatican Ii and my parents had so much hope for a Rennaisance within the RC Church. Needless to say...it didn't last. ✌️🙂
Joan, thank you, for this bread i broke with you, and in tha moment bells s , and a photograph of a greece friend Angueliki who studied with me of rose roses, Bread and Roses . Your Sister Mimi is with you in this moment. And me Katharina
Thank you Joan for such a sensitive song.I am from Belgium and I know your songs since my teenage years. We are too heavy shocked these days in Europe of what happened to this innocent black man.But we want to break bread on our knees for love's sake and human dignity as a right.Love and hugs.
Just think Joan always stands on the right side of #EqualityAndJustice ❣️👌Thats we’re we ALL must work on today, however small or bigger, do it whats on your path or seek it! Joan could just be a great singer but she choses not to close her eyes! There will always be something to get better but let’s do it❣️
Just think Everybody has the RIGHT and can express their own thoughts on matters, including you including me! It so happens that I reacted on Joan Baez great music and her political lifestyle/choices come with it!
Hello Olga how are you doing. I hope you are safe and doing well? I'm Thomas from Virginia, looking for new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.
Twenty five years ago I got a bunch of LP s and I take one called "Diamonds and Rust". That was love on first sight , whole my life will stay in that song aand that moment. My biggest wish was to go on Joan¨s concert and that came true when she was in Zagreb, didn t have courage to take you flowers. Thank you for everything Joan, you make this world a better place
جون بایز عزیز ! با صدای گرم تو بزرگ شدم و ترانه هایت رهنمای راهم بوده Dearest Joan Baez I grew up listening to your songs and soothing voice , a guiding light on me journey 💕🤟🏻
Hi my Dearest Joan, I baught once many years ago one of your first books....which I was reading with full of joy and at the end you ask your readers: "Dear readers would it be embarassing for you if I say I love you? NO of course N O T Joan, I loved you without this question - all my life....since I was a child when I heard 12/13 years old your first performances. You did a lot with demonstrations and activities against the war and FOR the peace. Thank´s god he braught you down here to this sick world. Stay always like you are and go on fighting with your impressing words, music and songs!!! Love you forever!!!
Joan another wonderful gesture by you. You teach people(such as myself)to fight for what we believe in. My neighbor said this to me years ago that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. "We may not all be the same color, but we all bleed the same blood". She was 94 when she passed away. I totally believe that and Black Lives do Matter. 🦋🌈🌹
I love your voice and your playing since I been a young boy. You taught me so much - from loving the american folk music on to do the right things in nonviolent resistance. Thank you for this tune! I remember you playing in front of the dome at Cologne last year. A very special evening.
It is gratifying that all my boyhood heroes, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Eric Clapton, became Christians., much like I did. I will break bread together on my knees with Joan, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton and many others. We were on a journey and we found what we were looking for.
What a great Tribute to George Floyd - a man - just like the rest of us - whose life was snuffed out by someone who did not consider him to be a human being. I use to sing this song, MANY years ago ( like 40) as part of a Folk Group at Mass. Wow. Takes me back. Thx Joan.
Yes Joan, unfortunately we, People of Color are still marching for Civil Rights. Aug. 2nd. is Communion Sunday and you will serenade the congregation into the Sacraments. We appreciate your participation in the Movement, we've come a long way. God Bless You.
Thank you for the excellent vibrations Joan, it means a lot coming from someone whose life mission has been to educate the public on nonviolence and social consciousness.
✌️✌️✌️ Peace! Love! These are not just words! We need to see and treat each other as equals, as brothers and sisters, children of the same God! Every single life matters, born or unborn!!! We fail as humans if we still make difference between a life and another, between who have rights and dignity and who doesn't!!!
Gracias dear lady; hope your prayer has going high to good God. We are in a terrible situation now on our poor earth but always we're keeping hope and joy thanks to you. Thank you very much for your support. Your own true fan, Jean
You touched my heart. You and I have seen so much in this life. Please keep sharing your passion with the world. Never stop sharing your voice and message with the world. Be well!!
"... a nonviolent show of moral force against the ugliness, the treachery and the seemingly endless stupidity ... - ... shine a light and show others the path to empathy and a new vision !"
Dear Joan, nice to hear from you even though the reason is very bad. I am still shocked, nothing changed since all the years. Racism is every there, we must fight with words, music and the people who protest now must not forget the election. So Joan, please keep singing, we need your voice. Stay safe, I am with you. Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter! Free people, free America, free press, My thoughts are with you, Astrid Miederer-Madani
Te conoci hace poco. En una semana te vi cantar con amor, pelear con amoe, vivir con amor y ahora despedirte! Que bella mujer, qué bella vida. Gracias! Gracias! Gracias!
Hello Angela how are you doing. I hope you are safe and doing well? I'm Thomas from Virginia, looking for new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.

Hello how are you doing. I hope you are safe and doing well? I'm Thomas from Virginia, looking for new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind, thank you.
Just letting you know that I am happy that you are putting out these videos for the entire world community. You have such a wealth of music to choose from and you are choosing stuff we can actually sing along with. You had said you were no longer singing but this is so different from concertizing. Take care, drink plenty of water and sing where your voice does't strain. Who knows, maybe you'll get your high notes back. I first learned this song off an album recorded in Paris-AnEvening at L'Abbye.
Dear, dearest , Joan Baez. Even before starting the video my eyes are already filled with tears. Breaking bread together, together kneeling in communion and under your guidance, is so touching my heart that it hurts, physically. May we honor so much inspiration, so much love and so much kindness and so much beauty you have been giving us over more than 60 years. And may it be with our commitment to keep the flame of love organized in activism. And, above all, standing by those who continue to suffer and die, under the insanity and evil of beings who refuse to assume their humanity. May the Light of Consciousness and Love finally be done, in us and among us. From Brazil, with Love and Gratitude, always. Luci. Luci.
GRACIAS POR SER LA VOZ DE LOS OPRIMIDOS ,DE LOS QUE NO TIENEN VIVIENDA. GRACIAS POR ABOLIR LAS FRONTERAS. GRACIAS POR COMBATIR LA TRATA HUMANA,POR COMBATIR LOS TIRANOS Y CUIDAR ESTE MUNDO TAN FRAGIL Y PARA MI ERES MI PREMIO NOBEL DE LA PAZ.
