So just to clear things up, the little girl in the flashbacks was Sasha when she was younger, and the longer haired woman was her mother. Her mother was sick, and the medication she was taking had extreme adverse side effects that Biotechnica covered up so it wouldn't affect their bottom line. Side effects which eventually ended her mother's life. The scene of her hugging her younger self is essentially comforting herself in her final moments before death, knowing that she had gotten some kind of justice for her mother.
I'm from Poland and a lot of people here, were surprised when this music video popped up because before, nobody thought that Netflix, CD Project Red and Studio Trigger would collaborate with Dawid Podsiadło. It's nice that people all over the world have a chance to meet him because he's a really great artist and I think a lot of songs will appeal to a lot of people. And the music video itself is great, especially after watching the anime.
If you thought this had a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention lol! But look at Maine's arm when he's staring at Sasha's corpse--it's shaking. She thinks she gave her mom justice (even though Biotechnica's totally gonna sweep it under the rug again) and he thinks he's failed again. Just more trauma that's gonna make Maine go psycho, which is the trauma that's gonna make David go psycho. It never ends. Mike Pondsmith said it best: You can't save the world in Cyberpunk; you can only save yourself.
@@shivamsingh827 as other said, this was a cooperation between CDPR and Trigger.. story of Edgerunners and this music clip was written by same people who wrote the story for the game.
It was not an addiction. It was a proscribed medication that had lethal side effects that were not disclosed to the public. Sad that even after this, Biotechnica is still considered to have a squeaky clean reputation.
is it? i havent seen the anime yet but i recognize that gun from the game.. its "Lizzie" the iconic pistol u can get when u go to Lizzie´s Bar after the heist... i wonder if Sasha as any connections to The Mox or why would she have "Lizzie" with her... it could also be another gun with the same skin i guess..
This is essentially the backstory of the gun Maine gave David in episode 3, i think. Also, Sasha, the character, was mentioned at one point in the show. Don't remember where tho.
"There are no happy endings in Night City." Also, Sasha was the Netrunner that Maine had before he meet Kiwi who then brought in Lucy. As said before her leak didn't have the effect that she had expected but we don't know a whole lot about the ripple it had. In the game there is an old, worn out graffiti in the northern part of downtown that resembles Sasha's icon. I suspect it had an effect, but was quickly covered up or cycled out of the news cycle. Also, when a runner goes rogue and does something noble, while the runner community may silently celebrate her, they can't be overt about it without drawing the attention of the corps. Turning against and exposing the corps dirty secrets is considered a big no-no and will land you and everyone you know in their line of fire. So that's probably why you wouldn't hear anything about Sasha and why no one talks about her. Biotechnica catches wind, they'll tie up loose ends.
Sasha was the netrunner for Maine's crew before Kiwi. Her mother was a veteran using painkillers, probably because of injuries from service, but the painkillers ultimately killed her because of unethical practices by Biotechnica, who continued to sell them despite undisclosed fatal side effects. Sasha discovers the files and dies uploading them to the news network.
The best way I've seen it put is that Cyberpunk is that people think Cyberpunk's world is horrific but at least cool, but what a lot fail to realize is that our world is pretty horrific, too, it's just boring as well. When you hear about stuff like Cyberpunk's US having its congressmen replaced by corporate execs, for instance, it's nightmarish, but is that really much more than just cutting out the middleman?
Glad that you reacted to this. (Please don't hate us too much for wanting your reaction to it!) It is so stunning how they gave us a wonderful new character and took her away in less than five minutes, yet we feel like we spent an entire season with her. Without a single (spoken) word. It also adds so much to the characters around her: what has Maine had to sacrifice (of course he got close to them, whatever Faraday would think), who else has Becca lost...such a litany of loss, set in an all-too-possible world.
By the way, cool implant-claws I understand that in the game they would completely repeat the mechanics of the mantis blades, but it would be nice to have them
Watching this after the series just tore my heart out all over again. The game s a masterpiece that was treated very unfairly. BTW the quality of this animation is absolutely stunning.
i love the subtle hints to other cyberpunk clasics, the jump over the counter and out of the windows are GITS callbacks, her nail razors is probably a nod to a characer called molly from one of the founding cyberpunk novels neuromancer and its successors, obviously also the cyberpunk universe tie-ins, I might have missed other nods, but those are the ones that stood out the very first time I watched the video .
I think I might have been the suggestion you saw, and I'm glad you took a look at this. Not exactly the emotional beatdown the ending to the series is but I found it remarkable how they introduced a brand new character, gave background on the Maine crew (look at the hand twitch at the end. even back then!) and more insight into the dystopia of the world in addition to fantastic animation and a beautiful song.
I was thinking the drug was given to her mom for pain and it messed her up and she died when Sasha was a kid. So she sent that info out to like avenge her mother. That's what I was seeing at least to me I guess everyone thought differently
Okay you can make a Sasha outfit with a black netrunner suit and a short pink jacket. For her pistol, use either an Omaha or the iconic Lizzie pistol. There's no cat slashers in the game but you could use mantis blades or daggers. Probably looking at 16 to 20 INT, maybe 12 Body, 20 Cool, and the rest into Reflex, or something like that. She also uses grenades so maybe some in tech? That's just off the top of my head.
Aside - if you're interested in the world building check out Mike Pondsmith and how a Polish game company came to implement a tabletop RPG spawned from social commentary and anxieties from the 80s.
Love the cyberpunk genre but its just so sad how they make such likeable characters and then take them away from you. Glad you reacted to this video I also love listening to ost's and good music compositions.
Remember all the interesting facts and corrections about Sasha people are giving in the comments are pure speculation. This is the only media featuring Sasha.
I don’t think she was a Veteran I think it’s much sadder than that, as I think Sasha was the mother of the young girl in the flashbacks and her daughter was given the drug and died. Sasha died to get the truth out😢😢
