Recently, we started an experiment to see if Mason bees would prefer colorful nesting trays or the regular side of wood. After a few days, the colorful nesting trays were the clear winner. Bees use visual representation to find their nesting holes, so, have fun painting!
Bees base their color combinations on ultraviolet light, blue, and green, which is why they can't see the color red. They can, however, see reddish wavelengths, such as yellow and orange. Each Bee Wayfinder is a unique bold color that bees can easily see.
