I hear ya, I haven't yet gotten into hydroponics myself, but I do appreciate the way you present things in your videos. I always seem to learn something, especially as I am in a similar climate here in Minnesota.

Seems really cool! That mistake in the instruction manual is quite unfortunate and does throw some red flags up for me for sure. If you put a big warning sign with bold and capital "DO NOT" then you better know exactly what you are writing after it. I won't be surprised to see people finding better ways to use these things than the manufacturer did.

This is the second video Ive seen of yours and I enjoy the content! Ty so much for showing us how you assemble this product. Currently I work with leca then I have some plants in soil. I'm always up for something different and this looks cool! Can't wait to see an update. I've been a plant person for only about 2 yrs now so I'm not sure what to suggest growing🤔 Interested in seeing what you choose. ✌️

Thank you for this cool and informative video, I really do love your setup by far. When will you do a update to this video on this topic? I am planning on doing this as well living at an apartment with a backdoor patio! I already have Three LetPot products, two are the automatic drip irrigation kits, and the LetPot smart 4-IN-1 Hydroponics growing system! Now you know how much I am into this and yes I do use the app lol! Please update and thanks!!!

You add fertilizer aka salt to the water. Salt water and plastic or any other material is bad...not for the water :)

Those are expensive but look really nice! It will be good to put your control plants in there to test out against other growing methods (pothos and monstera), but a veggie one would be cool too. Can't wait to see what you decide!

Maybe, substitute bucket reservoir with a fish tank sump?? The fishies give you fertilizer and you don't have to buy the nutrients to add to the water. Just a thought of another way to use a set-up like this....

I still hope you grow some Physalis peruviana. But any water loving plant will be happy in there. From salad to an orchid. Be prepared to adjust the ph value EVERY DAY. And add something to the water to prevent mold and algae. I had a similar hydroponic system for my Marry-don't-you-Anna plants 25 yeras ago. I learned a lot. E.g. keeping a ph value of 5.8 is a struggle. And that PH meter better be waterproof. And adding acid for lower PH values should be done careful :)

I think overall a custom built system will be way better than this but we shall see. Maybe I should make some diy one and long term compare

@@Thought_it_up common sense tells you the difference between this system and a pot. And the fact that you dont care that the PH value is way too high in YOUR pots raises ONE question: If you don`t do it properly, hydroponics has no benefit. So why bother? Why invest money into a system which you won`t maintain properly? Why waste that money? Buy proper soil, mix it yourself and you have better yields and happier plants than doing random things. Soil can at least balance a bit...

lot of people use stuff like rockwool but i think ill start seeds in perlite/vermiculite and once they get some roots wash em off and put them in leca. we shall see how that goes when put to practice lol

@@TechplantChannel how about some mini tomatoes and peppers. The roots would be bigger to work with versus lettuces. Plus, you wouldn’t have to wait till July or August to eat home grown tomatoes.

@@TechplantChannel both maybe? Leafy greens (basil, lettuce, etc) on the bottom row and peppers or tomato on the top row. Of course I'm assuming their growth won't be affected by the seasons... so you can plant different kind of vegetables at once.

probably if you packed peat into the larger soil pots, however its pretty expensive for the planting are. I dont know if you have seen my carnivorous plants but i grow them in a bin of water and it works well and its super cheap and maximizes space
