I stumbled into philosophy and stoicism accidentally but damm do I love the fact that I did. And being introduced to Troy, he is such kindaa constant father figure for me to look up to.. Listening to him talk, learning new things. And exploring so much more into stoicism deeply. Love this show and all other podcasts which introduced so many amazing people!!
That was really enjoyable! The 2 hours flew by. Listening to Donald talk about Stoicism is a type of therapy in itself. Any chance you might get Ashley on for a chat?
Appreciate the feedback. I get it, I could listen to him talk forever. He was very gracious with his time and I’m grateful for the ground we were able to cover. I hope to have him back on soon. In the meantime, you and I are fortunate there are many sources of conversations for us both to listen to him. - T
28:30-ish: "the practical aspects of those tenements" I think the most practical aspect of tenements is they give people somewhere to live, even if it's not luxury
Read/ listened to his book it’s so good like the way he makes it easier to understand and apply to our lives. Read meditation and really liked it just wasn’t sure of the best way to apply it. And can’t get into the way of zen in the same way interesting as it is. Love to hear more of your thoughts and your mini argument you had while reading and learning.
Such an awesome conversation with Donald Roberston Troy! Massimo Pigliucci and Bill Irvine would be great future guests on your podcasts to talk more about Stoicism! :D
This was very thought provoking and inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing this. I also loved the energy coming off of this one. I feel like I wanna go work on some writing or draw something now. 💙
Oh! Eristics is related to Sophistry but it's more specifically arguing for the sake of arguing, trying to win arguments rather than trying to get to the truth.

@@DonaldRobertson Hey Donald. I wanted to send you a private message asking you this question, though this seems to be the only medium I can use. What are your thoughts regarding Objectivism?
