@dronepro53 Any idea why?? What was wrong? Any part of what Prof spoke about wasn't true or inaccurate?? I'm sincerely asking, to get some understanding 🙏🏽
@@rabinraj15 he is just full of ego as if he know it all. I was 17 when i was sent to us to study engineering in mid 70s. In early 80s i was sent to uk to do my phd. Prior to that my parent grounded in islam. They know that i do not have time to do any other thing except study in any area of speciality. So i rely on knowledgeale peoples to guide me in islam. My logic is if you are sick you go to docter. You dont have time to read all med books to self cure.
@dronepro53 Being sick & seeking treatment is probably not an accurate comparison to appointing a teacher/guru/imam to get a better understanding of religion & to develop better human values.... Medicine is science and evidence based, while religion isn't evidence based... It's more philosophical, cultural beliefs & sentiments.... This is why it's extremely important that we understand that interpretations of religious texts are subjective... We should not rely on another's interpretations as it will be biased on his/hers world view, & mentality, which are influenced by so many factors from childhood upbringing & surroundings... Religion is bestowed upon us as a source of knowledge & a tool to assist us towards a more spiritual way of living, to have a better understanding of our creator & His creations... Therefore, it must be treated as something sacred, intimate & private... Not to commercial it ! Not to politicise it! Certainly Not to create chaos, suffering & division amongst humanity! It is to help us be wiser & use our intellect better, not restrict us from thinking... What we're doing now is purely absurd & sinful! This is what Prof. Tajuddin was trying to explain in my opinion... With all due respect to you, Sir 🙏🏽 The example you stated can not & should not be used as it's wrong & can be considered as a form of manipulation... As-salaam alaikum 🙏🏽
@@rabinraj15 You missed my point. In islam you do not learn by reading and made your judgement. You have to seek learned teachers. I was a rocket engineer acadamically trained in us and uk to highest level that university can offered but i stll have to seek a sifu.. a practical man that designed built and launched the rocket or space vehicles. I went to most of launch site around the world. I was involved in designing and launching 4 space vehicles. I am now retired. If you asked me do i have all the knowledge that i was trained. My answer is no. Similarly even though i am a muslim and completed quran, i am still lacking the depth even to comment. I took me more than 30 years to be able to converse in my profession. So my sincere advise is stick to what your are well versed. Leave what you do not know to others
As a non-Muslim, i truly admire people like Prof. Tajuddin. I am open to learning about Islam and its rich cultural and arts heritage. However, you must understand that for years we have faced persecution, name-calling, segregation, and even gag orders from leaders, celebrity preachers and top clerics in our country. This is why many non-Muslims quickly reject the idea of religion in politics, good or bad--- it's a knee-jerk reaction based on past experiences. How can we tell which version of Islam is authentic? While i love the way Prof decribes Islam, it doesn't seem to reflect what the majority follows. As a matter of fact, a lot of Muslims reject vehemently to your ideas. If you want non-Muslims to learn about Islam, be prepared for questions and open criticism. That's what true learning is about. However, we all know that some parties will exploit this, leading to threats (death) and violent demonstrations and escalating it to national issue. Until we can have an open, respectful dialogues without fear, only then we can build understanding and unity.
Every knowledge have it own scholar that is specialized on related knowledge. Good point of view will come from the best in that field. To best refer about Islam is to refer to a mufti or ulamak equivalent, not from an architect prof etc.
Whatever professor saying is very true. I’m from his era as in same age with him. In our days all races were so close and we respect each others religion. We also freely can go to our Muslim friends or Muslim to a Hindu or Chinese house. We know what we are suppose to serve and we respect each other. Gone were the days as now I don’t see Muslim friends like this. Those days my neighbours can speak to you even acknowledge you but when time goes by I do not know what teaching they are following and they are no longer friendly. I hope time will go back to old days and we have more open minded Muslim and can accept all races. I believe no religion will ask you to discriminate another race and definitely it’s not in quaran. My Muslim friends father use to read and tell us the teaching of Islam. We infact use to do fasting when I school friends fast. That’s the era I’m from. Any way I hope more people listen to this podcast and have an open mind
We use to exchange food and deepavali delicacies with them and they also use to give us and slowly they stop on their part of not giving anything for 2 to. 3 years in a row and I stop giving them too
I remember during hari raya, a group of us will visit our Muslim classmates. We will take the bus, get down, walk through sawah padi and rubber small holding before reaching her house. During CNY, our Malay classmates will come a visiting. During end of school term class parties everyone will bring some food and everyone had fun. We were mindful of not bringing any food which were were prohibited to Muslims. During my college days we had end of term parties where we (all races) danced late into the night with live band. All good clean fun. Those were the good old days.

In many Governance & National Security related matters , Truth is mostly Covered Up & sometimes even deemed Irrelevant … What Matters is if The Truth going to Benefit the Powers that Be … Hence in Malaysia, may be Prudent to always Follow the Money 😊
Nice.Respect .Its all politician brainwashing that matter. To be honest and fair .All human have the same characters. For example, theTaiwanese also brainwashed by their politician in charge to hate People Republic of China again in just 8 years time . The main problem is polotician brainwashing that throw peoples down the clift like herd of goats stupidly follow their leading goat😊
Sad the majority wont accept his pov and lable him as liberal. But actually what he says is accurate enough. Most ppl wont even go tru the entire interview before commenting.
Fellow Malaysians.. pls protect professor.. he is a man who speaks sense.. logic and the truth… he must be safe.. hope other Malaysians understand this and take malaysia to glory.. unity in diversity is what we as Malaysians need to accept..
Prof.Tajuddin should be our next PM. You should form a new political party before the next GE sir, i believe you already have many supporters in Malaysia !
No, please No. The Prof is a man of integrity, that I am sure but he is NOT a politicians and "integrity" is not something you want in a politician because they don't have any, by design. Let the Prof continue his good work in academia and activism but please don't drag him into politics!
All of us will come to a point when we become wiser due to our age and experience. Thank you for your wise view. Some may not agree though but the professor's view is still very impartial and carries weight. Malaysia would certainly have a very bright future if our politicians have some if not all of his views taken seriously. Thank you for sharing Professor.
Facts. Bitter pill to swallow for a traditional malay like me. I recommend listening to this man with an open mindset. You dont have to agree with everything he says. But he makes perfect sense on why Malaysia is we are today as well as his opinion on how we move forward and strive as a nation
Good to hear that, very positive remarks. Purely out of curiousity, how does our Malay community friends view Prof Taj in general? I am a Malaysian Chinese btw.
Not many Malays are will accept the truth and reality. For nation building, we need unity and political stability. All our founding fathers of Malaysian's dream of a progressive country will be destroyed.
@@MZMA85 By western standards he is actually slightly conservative, it's just that the stereotypical idea of a "real" Malay is so far right it makes a center-right looks liberal
I've met Prof once. He's a good person with integrity. He's open minded, straight forward and speaks from much experience and research. Much respect for him 👏 🎉
Am Convinced he’s a Person of Substance but in Malaysia that’s not enough especially if His Truth threatens the Powers that Be … Religion is Big Business … Hence in Malaysia, may be Prudent to always Follow the Money … 😊
A beautiful human, with a lot of Wisdom, and great humanity, truly based on the true history of Malaysia, which has been totally blacked out to fool all the non learned ones By the greedy leaders who are in power.

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively & to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the true goal of education.” - Martin L. King Education is not to parrot your teachers & memorise words and verses. If one cannot differentiate right from wrong because your teacher said so, your education failed you.
Agree with Prof that one is dead when one stops learning. INTELECTUALLY LAZY is how muslims are becoming. Never blame the religion. I’m a Malay muslim who has kinda vast experiences working around the world with international people from many backgrounds. This forced me to learn beyond the typical teachings of local clerics. I’m very scared of how Malaysian version of Islam has become due to growing numbers of “Ustaz Cari Makan” and of course their respective followers just blindly follow. Intellectually not challenging so no effort to seek more knowledge and comfortably thinks that they belong to heaven while the rest are always doing things wrongly. So in the end just stay in their own cocoon.
Take a closer look at what is happening around the world. People are confused about morality, ancient and modified dogmas of faith in relation to arrogant modernity. The weak minded are easily sucked in. There are also different types of apostasy in Christianity. The Dictionary of Biblical Imagery states that "There are at least four distinct images in Scripture of the concept of apostasy. All connote an intentional defection from the faith." These images are: Rebellion; Turning Away; Falling Away; Adultery. Worship styles and interpretations of Jesus' teachings varied based on regional cultures and customs, according to Bruce Gordon, a professor of ecclesiastical history at Yale Divinity School. But there were also major breaks, or schisms, over Christian theology during this time. Since the 19th century, modern Hinduism, influenced by western culture, has also a great appeal to the west, most notably in the popularisation of yoga and various sects such as Transcendental Meditation and the Hare Krishna movement. Beliefs and practices tied to Confucianism, Taoism and Chinese folk religions generally fall into three broad areas: filial piety (xiao) and ancestor worship (jizu) veneration of deities and ghosts, and beliefs that involve supernatural forces, such as fengshui have expanded varying from region to region. Secret societies have flourished throughout history and count Founding Fathers and royals among their ranks. Members (most often men) have been tapped to join The Knights Templar, the Freemasons, Rosicrucians, the Bavarian Illuminati, Skull and Bones and Bilderberg. The allure of secret societies is part mystery, part legend. They are still around today and rumored to be in control of the world. Conspiracy theories have surrounded them for centuries, with rumors of groups like the Illuminati being linked to everything from the French Revolution to the assassination of JFK. But it’s important to separate fact from fiction. And now the greatest danger facing humanity, that is, no-holds-barred culture. Anything goes. The breakdown of morality, free sex, one-night-stand pick ups, freely exchanging phone numbers on the streets. Is this the Age of Enlightenment and Modernism? Let’s treasure and protect what we have and solve our own problems first before our youth get trapped and dragged into this spreading hedonistic sensual satanic culture under the guise of so-called progress and modernity.
@@r.a.h.175to progress and modernity, is satanic?? Iblees is one of the most pious if all djinn. Iblees pray to Allah subahanawataala and is elevated to 7th heaven because of piety. Modernity doesn't have to be far from Allah. Modernity brings advance gadgets like handphone, which in turn brings us, online Quran, kiblat compass, etc..utube of Hadith.. The evil in the person, surfing negative things, are the reason, for their own sins. Kelantan, for example, is it developed like kl? Do we have skyscrapers there? @@r.a.h.175 Salam, Chief 🙏🏽 You've highlighted many good & relevant points / issues... I, too agree & share your similar concerns on the moral degradation in society ... Some of our Asian cultures & values are slowly shading away... However, at the same time, teaching the younger ones an exaggerated version of religion & exaggerating negative racial sentiment that creates hatred / contempt amongst the masyarakat isn't the right thing to do. Any healthy minded individual with a sincere heart, who is an honest believer/follower of his faith & it's teachings, who respects Almighty Creator, CLEARLY KNOWS that this is extremely wrong & damaging 🙏🏽 Confabulation & gaslighting a nation for mere political benefits, to maintain possession of power, to maintain corrupt practices, & lain2, is clearly the abuse of religion, a manipulation of it's teachings to creating a future of chaos, anger, hatred... making sure there is disunity amongst the masyarakat, making sure we are divided... Only for the benefits of a few... These few have no guilt, no remorse, no empathy, completely irresponsible & most definitely zero accountability... This, is far more dangerous & much much more a greater threat to all of us & our children... There is nothing wrong with the religions of the Almighty 🙏🏽 The Almighty have blessed us with intellect, with knowledge via teachings through his Prophets ... Religion should be a tool to assist us, to guide us to discover the spiritual aspects of life, towards a more spiritual understanding of existence & our Almighty Creator 🙏🏽 Not for politics, power & definitely not to gain wealth... Not many are willing to listen to facts and are as open minded as Prof unfortunately. This interview should be in BM honestly(to reach the target audience) but thankfully it has BM subtitles🙏
Y'all got real balls of steel discussing these things, and I thank y'all for it. These topics are getting more taboo by the day and people are less willing to communicate about it, but it is communicating about these topics that we can work through these issues. Appreciate that Prof was fair in his comments on both Muslims and non-Muslims, and I hope his words don't fall on deaf ears, because it can be pretty hard to swallow.

Great to see viewers from Indonesia. I’m curious how is the racial tension between Chinese and Indos over there? Would love to know the opinion of an Indonesian
@@LetsGetItPodcast i mean In the past, it was quite bad in some places, because I think there were people who wanted to divide indigenous ethnicities and other ethnicities(Idk,if there are foreigners who want to divide the Indonesian nation, or even our own people, who knows) especially (Chinese) because they looked quite different compared to other ethnicities in Indonesia, but nowadays I think it's quite good Even though there is still a bit of sentiment, I hope we can both accept differences without having to be right with each other
On behalf of muslim, i am sorry if we ever portrait bad attitude - islam never teach such thing. Sorry for being a bad ambassador of islam and if you see anything bad, its not from islam, its from us human who dont follow islam correctly. Sorry 😥
First time get in touch with religion, i felt the peace. As time pass it get toxic. More people trying spread their bad intention while holding their religion faith. It is shame to see more bad believers give bad reputation to their religion.

Malaysians of different races would be more united if there are more Muslims Malays like him who dared to speak his mind on issues affecting Malays, Chinese and other ethnic groupings. I salute you Professor Trajuddin
Prof Tajuddin always interesting and informative. A true change of mind and soul catalyst. Very passionate in true factual history for humanity and godliness Thank you.
@@Valhalla369 Level headed to some extent. There are fact gaps. It’s not an easy subject admittedly. Who are the 50 richest in the land, check the Forbes listing. Interesting if could get one of them to take the stand to be interrogated in a no-holds barred session like Prof had undergone. How they become rich, how rich they really are, what they have done with their wealth, their views on the political and economic systems and climate, their thoughts on affirmative policies and hoarding of properties, corruption, vernacular schools, community relationships, how their rich and powerful associations could assist in the development of the country etc.. Could not think of any such interview. If we want to be open, let’s be truly open.
I wonder whether in those difficult days he applied for job in Chinese-owned architecture firms? And I wonder too whether he applied to join TARC/UTAR? Is he only critical of Malay/Muslim politicians? What is his view on some of the non-Malay politicians with rather obvious hidden agenda?
I can tell you what the hidden agenda of unscrupulous Non Malays are - to make money and be successful no matter what it takes. A greasy Malay politician can be steeped in cronyism and nepotism but he will merely be seen as a ‘bad guy’. A non Malay who behaves the same way will not only be a bad guy but also someone who is trying to rob the rights of Malay people even when both are just completely acting on self interest to gain power and money for themselves. It’s just how it is. We are held to different standards. I’ll tell you what the scary ‘hidden agenda’ non Malays want - non discriminatory laws and equal rights as citizens. Very very spooky 😱
Revert Muslim is better than culture or born Muslim. They search for God and understand what Quran say by translation and take hadith like reading motivation book. UK Islam is getting better to explain Islam to non Muslim.
Prof is spot on.. But the quran may describe him as a hypocrite and anti Islam as traditional holistic muslims see no other version of Islam besides their own.
It’s good to be able to listen to this discussion. I really feel now Malaysia has freedom of speech as compared to the 80s and 90s. Prof Tajuddin actually hits the nail on the head, we need to understand more about MADANI, and understand more about other Malaysians’ culture and sentiment.
Prof Tajuddin, good to see you in another podcast. Do continue to teach us... Hopefully we will have a better Malaysia being the change maker ourselves.
It's a tough endeavour. Even PMX still had to kow-tow a bit to conservatives to ensure he'll have ample time to shape the future of Malaysia (or at the very least, laying the foundations) through his ideas of reshaping the mindset and worldview of cultural Muslims based on his own understanding of what it means to be a progressive Malay Muslim. A more progressive and more educated Malay Muslims (not just academics but through a proper and objective religious studies too) is what will liberate non-Muslims from an oppressive and restrictive Muslims worldview and Malay ultranationalism. Leaders that try to force such changes to accommodate non-Muslims will only result in their own political suicide. It’s achievable but it takes a long time to undo the deeply ingrained belief system of what it means to be a Muslim in Malaysia passed down from previous generations. Me myself, I'm not highly educated, I only have SPM but I still manage to have the same views as Prof Tajuddin, Prof Khairudin Aljunied from Singapore, Dr Zamir Mohyedin (our local Neil deGrasse Tyson), Dr Rozaimi Ramle (a scholar specialising in Hadith through interpretation, sources comparison, Hadith authenticity etc but being seen as blasphemous by traditionalist), Dr Maza the Perlis mufti etc. These are the few educators that will slowly but surely bring changes. But it won't be from A to B, it's gonna be more like from A to Z. Sadly It's gonna be a long and treacherous journey.
Only well learned well exposed people like Prof can reason, argue , rationalise like he is. If only every Malaysians in particular the majority muslims are well learned and educated like him, the nation will be able to really move forward.
Thank U Prof so so much, God bless u for ur kindness toward others, u may not be able to convince the majority now but u can spark a change in future, maybe not our lifetime but someday!❤
I have never listened to such a long podcasts from start to end. Really enjoyed the insights and hope we can create a parallel system to educate all Malaysians.
When an academician starts to make more sense on religion than the clerics, we know that religion has been hijacked for political ends. Prof has my mind opened on islam just because he explains it in laymans language and with much common sense.
@@adamiskandar5107 because he speaks common language. He explains, he expands and he pacifies non Muslims so as to make us understand why certain Shariah laws are such. We need someone who can articulate , not someone who will just start spewing hatred, fear and anger amongst everyone.
Our prophet love peace, in peace time people have ample time to think and reflect. thus making his job to convey easy and effective. contend living will make people less emotional and more rational.
Lost in translation is a thing. Especially since quran is not in standard arabic. That's why you need to understand the context of the language. The same thing applies to the bible and torah as well.
It's great to hear that someone like Prof. Tajuddin shares the same values and qualities as I do. It reminds us how important it is to be modest and balanced as we navigate life in this uncertain universe.
To be honest only seen racist and hypocrite only in a certain religion and community in Malaysia..not in non muslim community..but currently is vry bad and worse towards non muslim in Malaysia
No la bro, that's not honest. We have to be really really honest. Can we really admit that we have never ever thought of "they are like this one la, their type is like that - what to do" or "see la, it's always them who are thinking like that". This itself is, racist. Malaysia as a whole really needs to come together and be more moderate.... especially more so if we have children of our own.
Bro this example is exactly the reason why professor wants to reach non Malays with his msg. There are so many comments from non Malays that provoke or agitate Malays even more. I mean even if the person is a racist. Agitating and provoking if anything is not gonna solve the issue lol
@LetsGetItPodcast bro I could understand ur fear..but please don't say we provoking them..have u seen social media recently how much of hatred, humiliations, discrimination and racism we facing from them..bro come with me for few days I will show how much hatred they have towards us

May 13 1969 and the more than doubling down on race and religion policies have crippled the Malay Muslim mind but not the Non-Muslim mind who were forced to doubly use their wits and efforts to survive. The crippling has now become near insanity. Cases in point: 1) Akmal's insane race and religion rants; Madani's pitting Malay extremism against alleged Non-Muslim "Islamophobia and 3) No sane society will allow the sodomising of children to continue for so long without action to stop it. And even now, action is not fast enough and the perception is that the GISBH scandal is reaching too high, high enough to suspect that the innermost sanctum of political power in Malaysia is corrupted. So Professor, how to heal the Malay-Muslim mind?
SG’s Lee Kuan Yew not only Marginalised & Oppressed SG Muslims but also Targeted, Looted & Plundered SG’s Wealthy Arabs to extinction… All sanitised from History Books 😂🎉❤ … Hope this helps 😊

This is the Malay Peninsula, not the Thai, Indian/Chinese peninsula. -Srivijayan Malays may have been victorious in Sumatra, but Malays still come from the Malay Peninsula and ancient Indochina, who were marginalized by new arrivals from South China, namely the ancestors of the Vietnamese, Thais and others who made Indochina what it is today. -There is no history of the origin of the nation emerging from an island. -Japan alone claims that its ancestors came from the Korean peninsula who migrated to the island of Japan. -Conclusion:Malaysian Malays are not immigrants from Sumatra. -The Sumatran Malays are also not immigrants, they are natives of the island of Sumatra, just like the Japanese on the island of Japan.
It's quite sad to see people trying to justify they are superior when they have no achievements other than thinking they have a divine right to a land.
😂 come on man, its an answer to some provocation. kids will be kids. it has a deep history in it, u guys been fooled by brits, promised job but stranded. some given privilege some abandoned, segregation fuels more distrust. not to say politicians fair in their policy, but policy in balancing i bet is honestly to create stable societies. but sentiment and political campaign reflect social perception. in the end it depends on our own perception.

The ustaz has a calming effect on the community as he moves around teaching the basic requirements and dos-and-donts of the religion to small gatherings and performing the role as a holy man. No PHDs, just the knowledge he has of the reliigion. He is sustained by the contributions given by his students. The builder of high rise buildings and the ustaz has their respective roles. One provides jobs and comfort to some and the other teaching about the journey to the afterlife and beyond. Both equally important.
