The orchestra is like Sinnoh lore; there’s a little in Cynthia’s theme because she has the some of most knowledge on the subject in her time, but not the whole truth. Volo knows this history of Sinnoh cause he fucking helped create it, big orchestra hours at all times

actually if u put it to like 1.25 speed it basically just because cynthia's theme which is pretty nice

Well besides Volo, all of the trainers are quite easy. Not like Sword and Shield easy, but still easy.

Which really is disappointing. For starters, you gotta have some diversity. Every fight theme being fast paced means it's harder for most to stand out as they're all going for the same tempo now. Secondly, build up is irreplaceable as a tool for improving a track. Giratina's theme wouldn't slap NEARLY as hard as it does in Arceus, if it played during the ENTIRE Giratina fight. The generic legendary theme being a red herring for Giratina's theme to be THE drop elevates it by a *_major_* degree.

@@commie_dog_boy I never said he WASN'T allowed to have his opinion. However I was pointing out a fundamental lack of objectivity in his views on music. This isn't an opinion thing, I was stating the *_factual_* importance of diversity in a given soundtrack to help elevate many tracks that otherwise serve no purpose as it's the exact same song trying to act like its NOT.

also if you think about it at its most glitched state it creates a different rhythm and almost feels like something new was added to the theme while instead it's just heavily modified and it could be interpreted as arcues creating a new universe (even if it isn't actually happening during the fight of course)

That’s literally what makes music iconic but it’s suddenly lazy? That’s like me saying Shin Godzilla’s soundtrack is horrible even though it’s a Showa throwback film and many Godzilla films are known for using the original music scores.

Honestly, yeah. I mean, sure, everyone’s entitled to their opinions and tastes and whatnot but people really understand fckall about music.

Yeah, they're good. If they weren't inspired by the originals at all, people would bitch and moan about the lack of inspiration. Also not every theme has to be fast-paced, the Lake Trio theme is great for what it is used for. Giritina's theme wouldn't go with encountering Uxie at all.

I mean the main issue is that feels unfinished by default as a loop so it's just underwhelming. The theme could have been a Classic, the loop it does start off on it mysterious and engaging.

and nah my guy! the Alpha Pokemon theme slaps with the Taiko drums in the background. Good, and more so over the normal encounter theme.

Youre taking the music out of context, i suppose. You assume the music needs to be up beat, fast paced, etc. But if you consider the fact that during the game, the music is used to set the tone for the entire setting, battle, and story, you may start to appreciate the idea of why they chose to make the songs a bit more ambient. Take the non primal dialga/palkia fight, for example. [Everything below here is complete spoilers, but im replying to my own comment, i highly doubt anyones gonna read this. Be warned, though] During the fight, or more accurately, before the fight, you use the red chain to calm the enraged legendary. This in turn, leads to the chain being broken. However, even with this set of events, you are likely to feel more at ease, since you had quelled their rage. You are able to catch it, easily, and you think that is it. But out emerges another legendary beast. You have already used, and lost, the red chain however, so you must retreat. When you return for the primal fight, you are ready to face off against an impersonation of god itself, unsure if you will be able to do anything against it [or the characters arent sure. You playing the game already know this, its a pokemon game for heavens sake]. So, the theme here reflects that, with a more intense version of the regular dialga/palkia theme. The dynamic here is to show the difference in confidence, and likely fear, the characters/player would be feeling. Or, look towards the theme for the lake trio. These three are supposed to be the embodiments of human emotions, and when you encounter them once again in their caves, you have already completed a huge undertaking. These three legendaries know what you've done. They want to test you further, but they aren't doing it out of hostility. Thats why the theme is much more tranquil, since you are not supposed to feel as if this is a major foe, but instead one more test towards the final battle of the game. When you look at the songs as just that, songs, they lose their charm. They lose the feeling of adventure you get from playing the game, and they lose their impact. Or maybe I'm projecting my experiences into the music of the game, and these are, themselves, bad takes. Who knows?
