When it comes to Pokémon legends for gen 5 and Gen 7 I think the ancient plot that they would go for is obvious but I’m not entirely sure about Gen 2, revolving around the creation of the three legendary dogs, the story about it is interesting but not as in depth story wise

No. I think Cyndaquil was chosen to be the fire starter because it evolves into Typlosion the Volcano Pokémon. Japan is almost entirely in the Ring of Fire, the area in the Pacific where a lot volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur.

@@madnessarcade7447 The one thing that I think really cemented Link's Awakening's style for me was the toy aesthetic. The game wasn't just chibi, it was purposedly designed to look like plastic figurines and I thought that was charming as heck. I don't hate or even dislike the chibi approach for BD/SP, but I do feel like it needs an additional touch--just a liiiiittle something extra--to really pull it together. At least for me.

@@madnessarcade7447 links awakening on switch has this sheen to it. And it brings a lot of detail into these graphics, put them side by side with this. Or much better even, try animal crossing. You'll recognize that this looks really cheap by comparison. Also note that these will be full price too.

Let's Go and Gen 6 were literally chibi, and I loved that style. I'm glad they doubled down on that style with the remakes. It looks absolutely beautiful.

@@madnessarcade7447 Many people wanted the elongated style. The issue with Sw/Sh is that some textures looked weird and out of place, but ORAS, yeah, is probably what most people were wanting the remakes to be.

There's nothing worse than a game with actual limitless potential being deprived of its soul just because corporate execs want to rush the project. Just imagine what could have happened to Nintendo if Breath of the Wild wasn't allowed the freedom to be delayed even ONCE and was hastily slapped onto the Wii U. we have seen a min of the remakes and people are already labeling it as a lazy mobile/3ds game port. if this was in SWSh style, I feel like there would be even more outcry as to what has changed. At least with this, all of DP contents are intact. They are pretty beefy games. So, no 12 hours story campaign. It is fine to not like the chibi look but it is also fair for people to say to wait until we see what has changed before saying they were lazily made. Different artstyles should not make you decry a game. That is the definition of judging a book by the cover. Both games are also months and months out. So, in all likelihood, we will see at least some improvements in the lighting department in BDSP and hopefully a lot of performance improvement in Legends.

@@goldmemberpb Like you said the games aren't coming out for a while. I just hope the games aren't just HD remade ports of Diamond and Pearl. ORAS had Mega Evolution, kept fairy types, and had the Delta episode. I'm spilt on buying it at the moment because A) I prefer Platinum over Diamond and Pearl and B) I'm not paying $60 for a potential HD port of a DS (An already portable system) game. If they add Megas and/or other things that would make the remakes stand out from the original games then I'd gladly buy it. I'm a little more stingy with Switch games than I am 3DS games since the price goes up by 50%.

yes, but the 3d games have never been this chibi before. for example, dawn's hair goes to down her back and then the next thing you see are her legs. there's no in between. dawn's backside is just hair and legs. I wish they kept the artstyle and overworld scale of sword and shield or even XY/ORAS. ORAS did it right. don't simply redo what was done before, *re-execute* it. its chibi models were still tall enough to emote and strike poses. it took advantage of facial features, camera angles, poses, etc. to express the tone and emotions of its characters. this..... this artstyle leaves the characters as tonally and emotionally vague as the originals. they're nothing more than stiff gummy bears with text boxes.

If giratina and the distortion world isn’t in these then I have to say it’s the worst remakes ever made but only time will tell
