I dont think i expressed enough that Loreen has been one of the most talented artists to enter the Eurovision Song contest and she is just in another league! I truly am happy for her win this year and she will always be Queen Loreen :) also she's full Morrocan not half :)
We should educate some people in the fandom who think Sweden chose her being 100% sure they're gonna win, like come on, she didn't win melodifestivalen twice (2011 & 2017) which is sometimes way harder to win than Eurovision itself. I'm happy she got to bring it back to Sweden, because they're definitely one of the most objective and professional eurovision countries and take the competition seriously like no one other... and it was about time, its been almost a decade! Cmon - you claim she's a queen - but yet you wanted the finnish entry to win even though compared to loreen he's just a pantomine clown (and the song was crap too).
It's such an epic song, I was baffled that she didn't even make it to the finals. They said that it was "too political", well how the tables have turned since politics are such big part now of the Eurovision.
Before 2016 the voting was already combined with both jury and televote giving this way the 1 to 12 points for every country, so 372 points by then was actually equivalent 700+ nowadays so defenitely Euphoria victory was more epic
The old voting system was HORRENDOUS. I'm so glad they changed it in 2016 because now it's more exciting and thanks to that split voting being presented live we got to see Kaarija's happiness and my heart melted at that moment. Imagine him participating in like 2015 and finding out about his televote victory on a plane on his way home, that would be ridiculous With the old voting system we got to know the winner even before they were done with handing out points from different countries, it took so much fun away
Actually she got 296 jury points and 343 televote ones so it would be 639 nowadays. And her televote was just 11 votes more than Russian grannies so... I think this one is more impressive because 1) she was the bookies favorite and that was a huge pressure on her bc so many people wanted to see her flop 2) Tattoo is much more challenging vocally and she's 11 years older now so

Usually I don't listen to the songs before the competition starts to keep 'em as a surprise, and I really thought it would be a terrible year based on the comments I read. However, it turned out to be a very good year, and I like and still listen to about 10 songs from this year's competition!
I met her back in 2004 just after she had been on Idol. I was 12 years old and I asked her for an autograph and I remember how incredibly sweet she was! Then I got to meet her again now in 2023 when I did press at Melfest and she was just as sweet as back then. Incredible that she's managed to stay so humble for almost 20 years, such a queen ❤
I just asked Noosh this question because I was under the impression that both of her parents were of Moroccan Berber ancestry and emigrated to Sweden where Loreen was born. Thank you for clarifying this for me. 🙂
NOOSH, they had both Jury and Televote, but they were combined into one score, up until Sweden/SVT pushed for and got a split.. Before hand we had infamous cases like 2014 where the several Juries completed negated their country's televote (such as with Poland.. I think one case was the Irish Jury voting it so low that it negated it winning the Irish televote). SO starting with Stockholm 2016 the scores wil always be bigger now. Effectively new recordkeeping has to start at that point to be fair. Rybak holds the old overall score, and Loreen the most 12 points awarded.
When I see that many fans are still depressed and violent towards Loreen's victory (which is still a simple musical contest) it makes me laugh gently!!! One can be frustrated and upset but have some respect for Loreen and her performance. She's the winner now we have to move on. And stop with your theories of plagiarism because there is no plagiarism open your ears! Same controversy but for something different concerning the winner of 2016 and also 2021... Toxic world of eurofans or rather Kaarijanfans (I love Kaarijaa also, it's also my winner but Loreen deserved the title !).
Absolutely no plagiarism on Loreen's behalf. But if people want to enjoy some plagiarism, they should listen to Inna's 'Up' and Blanka's 'Solo'. BEJBA is lucky she didn't get disqualified for several reasons and still placed ahead of 7 performers which is ridiculous, if you ask me. My picks were Norway, Sweden and Finland. I only chose Norway as #1 because Loreen already won once and thought it would be nice if someone else got a turn this year, besides Queen of Kings was original, fun and Alessandra is amazing, but not for one minute am I disappointed that Loreen won. She did dominate everyone performance-wise.
Not everyone wanted Käärjä to win. His fans need to stop acting like her song wasn't popular with the people when she literally got the second place, her song is doing much better on the charts and streaming sites and she is about to debut in the Top 3 maybe even number 1 on the UK charts. Why is it unfair that she won? The majority of Eurovision winners are jury winners and she isn't the first winner in the modern days to not win the televote. I think Jamala wasn't voted number 1 by either side. These attacks against her are just disgusting. For me Tattoo was the better performance and I also like the song more. I would've been happy for both of them or some of the other countries like Israel, Norway or Italy.

Yes ♥ Some love on Loreen finally. I hate all the hate she's currently getting from Kaarija fans. Why can't they be more like himself. He has respect and seems like a sweetheart. She won the jury vote and was 2d in the televote. She won fair and square. Her performance was magical and perfection ♥ I personally voted 20 times for this Queen. A lot of people wanted her to win. You go Loreen ! cannot wait to hear more music from her. OMG I can't believe you don't know about Statements. Didn't like the song the first time I listened to it and now I cannot stop watching that performance. She came that year with something amazing but didn't even make it to the finals. in 2012 televote and jury were together so less points … since 2017 jury and televote are separate so the points are more high… If had the new system in 2012 : Loreen would have 612 points !!
You call yourself a Eurovision fan but don’t know anything about the voting system ? Girl, do your research. 2012 was just 11 years ago; there was jury and televote, just the way of presenting the points was different, so instead of presenting jury points first and then televote, each country would combine both votes and then present them as only one set of votes.

I don't think everyone wanted Kaarija to win, personally I think Loreen is overall way better than Kaarija and let's not ignore the fact that she got the second most amount of televotes. I am so glad she won, I can't stand that horrible Chachacha song and the majority of people share the same opinion since Tattoo is charting at number one in so many countries while cha cha cha is only number one in Finland (Tattoo is second in Finland, even though they have her zero points lol).
She was the favorite, not just with the bookies, but the fan favorite as well ever since February, then people turned on her on a dime. Her numbers were and are ahead of everyone in the competition. It's very weird.

The televote numbers are a fact, your comment is an opinion. Also using Charts to prove a song being the wanted winner is stupid. Rosa Linn is the 2nd most streamed Eurovision song of all time, but people widely agree that her placing outside the top 10 in 2022 was deserved. A song you put on in the background while doing something else and a Eurovision Live performance you are watching while paying full attention are two entirely different things.

I loved your video with Schlager, so many discussion videos about not just this year but Eurovision in general like a list of favorite moments or songs from the last several years. Don't think many of upset because of her winning, just Sweden. That's because Sweden will be always jurys favourite, even the song isn't any good like 2016 and especially 2018.
we always had the jury vote first. Then 1999 they had four of the main countries to try out the new system of 20% ( i think ) for televotes then gradually all countries started using 50% televotes and 50% jury votes, they got rid of just having Jury votes because they voting politically or just for their neighbouring countries they got in with. i think her 2012 points were less because there were less countries competing and no Australia or rest of the world televotes.

The voting in 2009- 2015 was 50-50 jury/televote unite. Like in a regular selection, the highest on both televote and jury will get 12p maximum not 24 maximum as now on jury and televote. If we calculate her run in 2012 as it is now she would’ve had 639 points ( jury 296-1st place and televote 343 1st place) :)

I loved this ESC season, it was just so much fun and the shows were amazing. Personally, my winner was Georgia, so I was a bit devastated when she didn't qualify, but omg, we got Estonia instead which I really didn't expect! So happy to see Alika in the over all top10! I think we all knew Finland or Sweden was gonna win and I liked both songs (actually prefered Sweden tho), so I really wasn't mad about the over all result and I would've been fine with Finland winning, too. Personally tho, I voted for Israel, Estonia and the UK in the final :> Tbf tho over all the songs were kinda mediocre, but I still really enjoyed this ESC season. Thank you all for this!

She's *all Moroccan, but born in Sweden. And you should really watch "Statements!" I didn't even qualify to the Swedish finals. I think it was too heavy and serious for lots of Swedes who were voting for light entertainment. I think even Loreen knew it wouldn't win. Its very obvious why it is loved. He is a likeable dude, the song is very catchy and memorable and the entire arena chanting his name speaks for itself. "Its not a song at all" is your terrible opinion, not a fact.
