I dont think people are upset that beauty influencers are making money for their craft. I think people are upset that many beauty influencers opinions are being bought then they get on camera and tell their audiences that their opinions are genuine and to be trusted.

i own 0 of these collab products but i am 200% invested in all of this drama.

Remember when "beauty gurus" used to actually do make up tutorials? No drama, no personal crap, no sales pitches, no bashing other channels, just fun make up tutorials. Guess those days are gone...

Can I just have you active here again? Like on a regular basis? Drug store tutorials, dupe videos, 5 minutes make up looks, updated foundation, eyebrow, eyeliner tutorials, first impressions, etc; just tutorials in general without a product to promote.

What’s unfortunate is that I think morphe is using Jaclyn as a mule for the promo of all their products. I think the REAL issue is that “Linda” or whoever is running the show needs to totally reform morphe as a whole. Their company is way too money hungry and it’s showing. What’s unfortunate is the fact that Jaclyn is the one doing all the explaining and she’s taking the majority of the flack. Morphe should’ve put out a public statement and explained what was going on to their consumers. Jaclyn doesn’t control any of the business or production related decisions. She’s merely on the creative/marketing end of it all. Overall I think MORPHE needs to be the one addressing such things instead of having it come from the influencer they work with while they take a back seat.

to be honest i don't care about the fact that influencers are earning a lot of money from sponsorships... i have a problem with the fact that it's disguised promotion/product placement that is often not mentioned anywhere in the video and should be illegal if you ask me (it is in certain countries i don't know about the US though). the thing about paying people to give negative reviews MUST be illegal in the US as well that's why i think no one is talking about it but i am sure it does happen

The truth is , people grow out of RU-vid 🤷🏽‍♀️. I think Jaclyn has reached that point . Which is the reason why I think she has been promoting more than creating creative content. At this point, girl, build your brand . You’re a great seller . Great spokesperson, so I have no doubt you’d create a brand as big as Estée Lauder , MAC, Clinique, etc.... I personally think you shouldn’t rely on RU-vid or Morphe cause at the end of the day, they will only pay attention to the numbers that you produce in your viewership and units that you sell. You’re a business woman , and I think that people don’t get that. But I think it’s time for a new phase and a new direction for your life AND your channel. Use your audience wisely. And also , use your talents wisely, cause that’s what’s gonna make your name unforgettable.

If Morphe is still having problems with inconsistencies then i think they need a better quality control dept. Also Jaclyn, if u can't count on Morphe to do quality control while manufacturing palettes with your name on it, then u may not want to collab with them any longer. Your name Is your livelihood and how you make your money. I don't want to see u get punished for something out of your control. I luv u Jaclyn.

Jaclyn I think this is the universe telling you to put the brakes on your collabs and go out into the world as your own brand. Own it yourself, develop it yourself, get into the labs yourself and cut out the middle man because that seems to be what's failing you now. I love your success, but every time something goes south you're missing part of the story or the process which in turn hurts your business. You can't take on full ownership of a situation, be it negative or positive, when it's a collaboration. It's also not fair that you're taking on the brunt of the negativity when it's a collab. Get your ducks in a row, get your act together, and get moving with your OWN brand. ❤

lol why do all youtubers "need to talk" or "tell their truth" suddenly

A few things: I think a lot of comments are getting deleted, and the skewing of feedback from your audience really bothers me. Second, I’ve always liked you a lot, Jaclyn, and I think you have a good heart. You seem like a good, decent person. People want to paint you as evil, and I don’t believe that about you. My biggest issue the past few years is that I simply can’t relate to you anymore. I’ve lost interest because your content has been inconsistent and uninspired, and because you sell us a lot, yes, but first and foremost, I just can’t relate to you anymore. Your life, or what you show of it, couldn’t be further from mine. Your audience will shift and you’ll pick up viewers who do relate to who you are now, but it won’t be me. I’m not unsubscribing, but I’m not as die-hard of a fan as I once was. I felt like I could connect to you like a friend, but now I only see ‘celebrity’. Be who you want to be, show what you want to show, but just know that how you present yourself to people has an impact on whether they can connect with you or not, and that costs audience too. It’s not just the Morphe, Morphe, Morphe and the selling, or the lack of content, it’s back to relating to people.

I'm literally just ready for the beauty community to be about BEAUTY AGAIN. I'm so over the drama and combing through people's pasts with a fine tooth comb. I'm just here for the makeup, the tutorials, the reviews, the favorites, etc. I'm sick of the drama. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Trying to word this in the nicest way I can but I truly think you need to now just focus on your own line and stop collaborating. Because you will have a lot more control over your own product and inconsistencies (if they happen )will be only on you. I think everyone is ready for your own stuff to and will appreciate a range of products by “Jaclyn hill” not “Jaclyn hill & ...”

I originally ordered 2 palettes the day they launched: Ring the Alarm and Bling Boss. I didn’t buy the whole vault because I didn’t think I’d be able to do anything with Dark Magic. Not really my vibe. But I was so excited about Bling Boss. My order came, and instead of Bling Boss they sent me Dark Magic. I was literally heartbroken. I used Ring the Alarm and I loved it, but I called customer service to see if there was any way they could take back Dark Magic and send me my Bling Boss. Of course, at this point they were all sold out, but the rep on the phone said I could email Morphe for a refund and hold on to the Dark Magic palette anyway. I thought that was really cool. I was still heartbroken about Bling Boss. But I was getting my money back AND getting a free palette, and I LOVED Ring the Alarm, so I was ok with it. I emailed Morphe explaining the situation and asking for a refund. Within 2 hours, I got a response back saying that they were overnighting Bling Boss to me. And I could still hold on to Dark Magic. I’m so impressed with Morphe’s customer service, there are no words. And I LOVE all 3 of my palettes, even Dark Magic, which is so far out of my comfort zone, but I watched your tutorial and I loved the look you did with it and gave it a shot. I got soooooo many compliments. I think people are assholes, and petty jealous haters, and you don’t need to listen to any of them. You’re a boss, Jaclyn. You created yet another amazing product with an amazing brand and anyone who matters loves and applauds you for it.

Honestly I think a lot of people are not returning because of having to pay for return shipping. I think that is ridiculous. We pay $6 at least in shipping and we aren't happy with the product I think Morphe should pay for return shipping labels.

I think so little palettes have been returned is because Europeans will have to pay ridiculous fees to return. I get that's not your problem but morphe really needs to sort their returns policy ASAP. Plus in most countries in Europe you can't return makeup that has been opened if you bought it from a site other than Morphe.

After supporting her for years I just cannot stay subscribed to her. SO MANY THINGS have happened, not just with the morphe collabs, but little things that have shined light on traits of hers that I just cannot stand behind. It breaks my heart because it was because of Jaclyn that I fell in love with eyeshadow makeup. Now I dread clicking on her videos cause I know morphe is gonna be the number one product being used and talked about. ☹️

Ok Jaclyn, I’m at about 11 minutes or so. And I can honestly say, Morphe responded to me via email and asked that I can return the one palette I was having issues with (Armed and Gorgeous). HOWEVER, I am based in Australia and I’m being told to send it to an address in the UK. Babe! Sending one palette that cost me $23AUD to the UK will be costing me about $15AUD to send to the UK. I responded and said nah, I accept my fate. Because it is idiotic for me to be sending a palette back and mathematically only getting $8 AUD in return after postage. So that option SUCKS for me unfortunately. So yeah, no thanks I will not be sending it back. But I would happily accept a new palette without having to spend another money to send it to the UK. Thank you for coming to my TEd Talk.

Jaclyn, there’s actually a lot of people who wanted to return their palettes, the reason why they haven’t is because it actually costs to send them back. A lot of people are not going to return a product when they have to pay for it, especially us who are not in the US, it costs a fortune for us to just buy it let alone send it back. Plus others also just wouldn’t be bothered to send it back, it’s just too much fuss and bother. I hope you do take a step back from morphe and get involved with other brands and stuff, it is true that we are tired of the morphe pushing, especially the code pushing. So I hope you step back a bit from the codes aswell.

Jaclyn, I asked to exchange my vault and Morphe told me they don’t do exchanges. They said I would have to ship it back and pay for the shipping. Also would lose the original shipping costs paid. That’s why I haven’t done anything and I’m sure it’s why others haven’t as well!

Jaclyn, I can understand why people wouldn't return the vault collection! Not becuase they didnt want to, but because they couldnt. I bought your favorites brush collection back when it first came out, and it came with some brushes missing and one damaged! So when I called and sent pictures, they said that I had to pay shipping for the return, and if they felt like it wasn't a problem, then they would ship the same one back to me and make me pay for it. So I still wouldn't get a replacement or my money back and have to pay for shipping twice on top of what I already paid! They are terrible with their customer service, so I'm sure that many people have had the same problems! Not to mention, how many times I had to call back, because they would hang up on me! I spent countless hours sitting on hold and was talked to like I wasn't even human! So I refuse to buy from morphe again! And thats why I haven't tried to buy your collection with them! They are the most difficult brand to get refunds/returns/replacements from! I have been following you for a very long time, but I just can't deal with Morphe anymore! I have never had a problem with any other brands when it came to refunds or returns like I did with them! So again, please just make sure you know how hard it is for the customer who's trying to return a product, and what they have to deal with, before you say we aren't "wanting" to! No hate or shade at all, just telling you what I went through with Morphe.

The beauty community has become a disgusting place. I remember when I would come to youtube and watch RU-vidRS not “INFLUENCERS” show us their actual tutorials, and honest reviews. I looked forward to almost every new video they put out. The beauty community is now a large advertising community full of drama and pathetic videos trying to sell and make money off of views. Bleh.

Personally, I’m not going to bother returning a palette I paid $32 for when I have to pay $15 for return shipping because I live internationally. The USA is the only country I know that will allow you to return a used makeup product, other countries do not.

You americans are so lucky - here in Romania (Europe), we cannot return a beauty item if it's opened or swatched. Stores like Sephora or other brands will not take them back, so we're stuck with the producst, no matter how good or bad they are.

Jaclyn so many people have adored your content for years but you have stepped away from what made people love your channel in the first place. Explore new content, brands and products will help you build yourself back up with your audience. Do creative looks with palettes, three looks using one palette, new techniques, hauls and fun videos. Your personality shines through when you are creative and authentic. There has been too much product pushing with morphe and it overall for your audience feels too much. If you had just released your original palette and really explored looks with that palette I think you would be in such a better position. Don't let everything that is happening discourage you. Learn and grow from this experience and find your love in videos again we will be here
