All waxes are not created equal and they aren't all easy to work with. I've been using Freedom Soy Wax for several months, here's what I've learned and my opinion.

I just came across your video as I was trying to research the brand that you were talking about. I did try the coconut soy from them and it worked great. We are new to this and have been doing this for about five months. Woodworks are my favorite and I think something that might help you is to prime your woodwick before pouring the wax into the vessel. I have had issues as well with them going out, but after I started to prime them they started to burn completely perfect even in a small vessel. Thank you for your video on this product!

Ive been making candles for about 3 months, have quite a few rounds under my belt using c3 soy from lone star candle making and also freedom wax- so far the freedom wax has given me the best results. Still working on upping my hot throw, but its been best with freedom brand wax. Im developing a candle line for my work to sell in our shop so i test burn at work and all the freedom wax candles burn well and i get the most compliments on scent from them. Im going to follow the tips ive read in your comments to others about when to add scent oil and pour and cure time. Cant wait to see results.

I am a new candle maker. I have been testing this wax as well. I am blending beeswax at 2% to help with the smoothing tops and shipping in hot summers. I have had a lot of issues with cracks, craters, and air pockets. I am trying to figure out if it's excess air trapped in the wax or if it's my fault. So many variables to consider. I have found that CD works best in this wax and fragrance loads around 9%. It will depends on fragrances. I am using those 9 oz straight sized jars and bouncing between CD 12 & 14. Still lots of testing to be done. Testing on different pouring temps and even trying to cool inside aluminum pans to regulate the temperature better. I am also trying their coconut blend. My goal is to use soy, coconut, or beeswax and stay away from paraffin. Personal preference. I have seen that people will claim 100% soy and still add small amounts of paraffin, like the soy 10. I do think Freedom is 100% soy truly. One thing I read said that if it comes in a block form it does have paraffin in it. Lots of things to consider. Thanks for your review. Happy candle. making!

I have been using 464 forever. Heating my wax to 180, adding scent and pouring around 135 or so. No issue. We make 1000s of candles/year and are considering adding to our line. 1) is the wax microwaveable 2) what is the pour temp 3) are eco zinc core cotton wicks useable

I have the freedom wax melt blend for my clam shells what fragrance load do you recommend I’m using Midwest fragrance company also what pouring temp for the melts? I’m discouraged I made my first batch heated until 185 added 9% fragrances at 180 and stirred using a mini frother but with the mixer attachment for 2 min and poured at around 150 degrees. I have let them cure for 2 weeks the ct is amazingly strong but my ht not :( do I need to let cure longer or did I do something wrong?

Wow! Thank you for your video. We just did 4 today for the 1st time to practice, but we couldn’t quit get that 10% (.8) in fragrance measurements with our vanilla and lavender fragrances. so now I’m feeling discouraged. How do we measure the Frances? For instance, Tasha from customer service recommended .6 oz for one of the fragrances, but how do I measure that? Do you have any advice you can pass along and share? Thank you

My honest recommendation for Candle math is to watch the video that REALLY helped me from Memory Box Candle Co. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VhjipDG6avo.html Her videos are out of this word! I know it is SO HARD to not get discouraged but you CAN do this! It just take time and patience! Sometimes more than we want it to! Good luck!!!!

Thanks for this video I just purchased this wax 10lbs. I make 4 candles 2 of them came out like the one in the blue jar that you show plus a small hold near the wick. Use my heat gun and it fixed one but the other one just didn’t work. I’m so worried as I purchased 10lbs I followed the instructions. When I put the fragrance I mixed and it’s great when it cool down smells great, I will wait couple days for doing the burning test and see. I’m planning to open a small business but don’t know if this wax will work

Getting that perfect magic mix of wax and FO is what we all chase! Try heating the Freedom Wax to 185, add FO and stir 2-3 minutes. Then the HARD PART .. wait until it just starts to set up and then pour! I know, I know sounds CRAZY but it really does make a difference. Let me know how it goes! Be sure to cure for at least 2 weeks!

How do I know if my fragrance is light or heavy? And when I find that out, do you recommend adding fragrance at a certain temp? I've been using soy freedom wax to make my candles. My cold throw is beautiful but I'm struggling with my hot throw. I'm not sure if it's my wick or what. I've also noticed my wick is finished before my wax is. So my containers have a bump up at the bottom and there's a decent amount of wax left after the wick is completely done burning. Any tips?

Hi! Super great questions! One way is to actually weight your FO. If you weigh out an ounce of two different fragrances and the volume is less then you know that it is a heavier FO. This will help you determine when you need to wick up / down. Another way is that you can tell by your FO fills when you get them. If you order a 16 oz bottle of two different fragrances but one has less volume in the bottle you know that it is heavier. Vanilla and Patchoulli are two that come to mind for being heavier. I've also found that I can get a sense for how heavy it is by the viscosity when I pour. Lighter ones tend to be more clear and light. I struggled with the exact same problem with the Freedom Wax! Regarding adding your FO - Tasha over at American Soy has recommended heating the Freedom Wax to 185 degrees and adding FO at that temp. Then do not pour it until it really cools off and you see hints of the wax just starting to set-up. I've cooled my candles down to 98 degrees before pouring based on her advice! I've found a definate improvement in my HT! Be sure to sign up for their newsletter too for more hints and tips for using their wax and also wicking. The size of your wick / melt pool will also play a role in your HT. I had a candle that was burning really nice but NO HT until I wicked up one. Lots of trial and error but it is so worth it when you get the perfect combination! Not sure why your wick is burning out before your wax. Maybe your wick is too high? (are you putting a large bump of glue under the wick tab when you put it in your glass?) But, for safety you never want to completely burn out your wax. Once you get your wax level down to about 1/4" best practice is to stop using that candle. Hope that helps! Let me know!

What is the percentage of fragrance that can be used in this product? ( making wax melts soon)

Hi! 10% - 12% is what customer service has recommended when I've talked to them. Be sure you are using the Freedom Wax specifically for making melts though! amzn.to/3Gz9JHP

What wicks do you find work best with this wax? I just bought some to try and just curious as to what wicks you found work best
@sincerelyiceblue1620
@sincerelyiceblue1620 Год назад
Hi Brenda, it all depends on your vessel, FO and other additives. I have Eco, CDN, CD and Premier wicks that I use. Unfortunately, it is a lot of trial and error and testing to see what works best for you. I've found that I favor CDN and CD wicks though. Good luck and let me know how your progress!

@@sincerelyiceblue1620 Oh yes I know. I have been making candles since 2016 but have always used C3 wax. I just received a sample of the freedom soy wax so going to give it a try.
