I really appreciate how detailed and thorough this was. I was having trouble understanding the difference, and this was the only video I could find that explained just that. Thank you!
I needed a video JUST on bands, and thank you! You did a great job explaining! When using sanding bands at home, how do I tell when my band needs to be replaced, as I do not need to toss them when I just use them on me. I assume like a file, when it does not work as well, we toss them, right? Please note I ask this dumb question because before I touch my nails with my e-file, I am researching the heck out of them. I have extensive. Experience with hand files, did my own acrylics for years, but have just now started working with polygel. I wonder if you go through files quicker or more slowly with polygel... Loving filing 85% less, as I use dual forms for fills and full sets. Loving the ease! Thanks so much for also pointing out that in salons, files and the other items are disposable. Some salons do reuse files, I have seen it. Literally no one told me that, I thought reusing files was just normal, I have seen it so often! Edit: typo
No question is dumb love, we always need to know things because of the after fact cause the after fact can be very dangerous... I use my files on myself like 2 or 3 times... U can tell when they getting bad cause they getting white and not doing the job right... Far as poly gel I have some but really never tried them... Which is crazy.... Lol.... Thanks for watching hope I answered all your questions if you need anything else please don't hesitate to ask..😘
This is super helpful! With the pandemic, I’ve gotten into doing my own nails (trying!) and one of the most confusing things for me has been figuring out which nail bit/band to use. Thanks!
Can you distinguish the interior color of the band with the grit? I have 5 diff colors inside my bands. They came in with an efile so they arent marked. Thank you and LOVED your video!!! ❤
I wish you had taken out all of them so that I could see what they look like. I am trying to determine which ones I have at home. Whether they are 180 or 240. You only took out the 80. Which I know I dont have.
@@NicolePlatinumNails lol it's ok. I appreciate you for even doing this video. NO ONE else has done videos on this subject. So props to you for being ahead of the curve hun. ❤❤
@@NicolePlatinumNails i have just started doing my own gel nails, after watching your video i am going order 180 grit off ebay. Many thanks. Hope you get more views. Xx
@@cherylmatthews4066 thats good boo, I love doing nails... Thank you boo for the support, my views will go up after time if it don't and i can help one person each video my job is done...🤗🤗
Hi hun, no difference in the colors…It has to do with the grits… You can buy brown, black or zebra banding bands in different grits, such as 80 grit, 100 grit, 120 grit and so on… So the colors doesn’t matter… It’s all in the grits…😘
Where did you get these or do you recommend getting them? Can you send me an exact link? I’ve been looking on Amazon but they all pretty much have bad reviews either they’re really flimsy or broken/damaged. Please send me in the right direction 🙏 I’ve been looking at the kiara sky but they’re a little pricey if I could find something cheaper I’d rather have that
I hope you answer this. But for 240, can you use it to like buff/smooth down nails after applying gel? To make it smooth and application. I hope it makes sense.
So you don’t use the metal or ceramic nail drill bits? I usually only see nail tech use these sanding bits just to take shine off then use actual metal or ceramic nail drill bits.
No you do not have to dispose of them..Just make sure your hands are disinfected, and I would only use it twice on myself then I would dispose of it..... Hope that helps... But if you are using it on a client you would only use once and dispose of it...
I have a question 🤓 I’m going to buy some sanding bits from AliExpress . They labeled their sanding bits coarse 80 , medium 120 & fine 180. If I was to use the fine 180 to buff my natural nail am I going to ruin them ? Since you said 180 is medium ? They also labeled them and a up close pic of how they look like, but I don’t wanna ruin my nails if the owner labeled them incorrectly. Another question 😂😳 If I’m just using the sanding bits just for personal use & on no one else. Do I still change them?
180 grit is fine to use on natural nails... Far as changing your sanding band, if u using on yourself that's fine but u Don't want to use it on other people because of cross contamination... But after a few time using the sanding band on yourself you need to get a new one....But if u have clients you use a new one on each client.... Hope this helps.... Thanks for watching 😘
Hi, Nicole! What do you use to sterilize your multi-use instruments? I've heard anything containing rubbing alchohol should be avoided as it could lead to rust.
Hi, no sometimes the grits come in all kinds of colors so it's hard to tell. Try to see which are finer and more coarse. If you have 3 different grits it's most likely fine medium and coarse😀
