LETTING GO AND STARTING OVER - Love, Work and Staying Creative
Hello and Happy New Year!
Last year was a real emotional rollercoaster, not only because of the global crisis, but because I went through some of my very own personal crises, and pretty much everything in my life has changed in just one year.
Another title for this video could be "The struggles & hightlights of 2020", but that felt a little bit boring. In the video I take you with me on a walk on a Winter's day and reflect over some of the challenges and also some of the best things that happened last year. Hopefully the things I learned might resonate with you or provide some insight :)
I'm sharing how Corona has impacted me financially and workwise, how I've stayed creative and positive throughout the struggles and more about how me and my fiancee met, and how I knew he was the one :)
I also chose my word for this year, what's yours going to be?

My word is going to be spontaneous, because I think a lost a lot of it for the past few years, and got in a habit of super planning everything, and then when life happens I feel disappointed and angry. Trying to be more spontaneous and letting things happen to me spontaneously will be my goal for this year. 🥰 Thank you for sharing this with us and motivating people around the world 💕💕

BEAUTIFUL couple, so happy for you both. Trust-- excellent word for the year. "try" is my word. Or more so "I tried" because I get so caught up in 'what ifs' to the point of giving up before I even start. So I want to look back on 2021 knowing that I did not let fear of failure stop me . Dan Savage has this notion that you meet a person. And they are a 0.8 oder even just a 0.6, but you like them so much that you decide to round up and make them the 1. I really like this idea, because it takes away myth and pressure and gives you agency

That's such a greta word, my word last year was brave, end even though I didn't think about it all the time, I feel it did make me braver in the decisions I made. Do you have anything in specific you'd like to be more courageous about or just in general?😊

@@Kutovakika mostly life in general but particularly in the work I do. My first courageous step was to resign from a job that paid well but absolutely sucked the soul out of me. It was scary but I did it anyway and my husband supports me and since I resigned my creativity has been through the roof. I feel that life is full of possibilities and I can see that shift in me rubbing off on my husband too. 😊

Yes it's quit Scandi haha! Although, to be fair we have probably more color than most Scandi people who tend to stick to a very white and grey color palette, at least heer in Finalnd.Moving can be such a stressfull thing, so I also feel I really want to just be settled for a bit at least 😅

Hm... My word would be maybe... structure. I finally got my online shop online in late 2020, started Instagram and since then learned so much... in deffenetly need structure with all the new input. I also will have my wedding 2.0 in summer as last year we were only allowed to celebrate with our family - just siblings and parents. Just stumbled on to your channel. What a beautiful knitter you are! Congratulations on your engagement. But please don't decide to get married for at least a year! You never know for sure if someone has a severe mental illness unless you give it at least that long! My mother married my father after a year. But she did not know how he could be! He is a Schizophrenic, constantly accusing her of affairs that never happened etc. He seems normal to everyone else! She has passed on but living with him was a living hell!

I don't think that there is 'the one' for you, it's a fairy tale. Being with sb for a long time means hard work, patience, compromising, forgiving... Everybody makes mistakes and has bad days, even 'the one'. A relationship requires work and sacrifice on both sides. Then every person can be 'the one'. But of course, try not to pick a psychopath :P ps. The best lesson I got: the way he treats his parents is the way he's going to treat you (for example, if he lies to them, he WILL lie to you one day as well.). I'm very happy for you, K. :)

Yes I agree with you that there probably isn't just one "ohe one" for us, and the pressure to find someone perfect and having that fairytale is also putting all these preconceived ideas into our heads. Every relationship requies comrpomises and I think a lot comes down to our own attitudes too 😊

Hey Kika, Could you try to change your microphone a bit? In the last videos I noticed you are filming with a new mic, which is great, but it is clipping a lot an hurts my ears when listining with my earphones :DD Maybe you could turn the sensitivity a bit down.
