So all this time I thought there was a scared but rational and reasonable person hiding under their facade of anger, hurt, remorselessness, and stoicism, just waiting to be coaxed out with enough love and patience and understanding. But in reality there is just this irrational, unreasonable, empty, hollow, dangerous person lurking deep down under their facade of rationality, love, empathy, compassion, hard work, etc. So I understand now that I had it backwards 💔 This realization is utterly bone chilling and terrifying 🥶☠️

Same. I kept thinking love and reason would win out. Love and reason are good. Keep those. It's just that those things don't make sense to someone who's narcissistic. I hope you will get over the shock of realization and proceed to disengaging and helping yourself heal.

I had two narcissistic parents, a sexually abusive uncle and later chose a partner who was narcissistic. Those folks did some serious damage to my life. After much therapy, research and soul-searching, I've come to the same conclusions you speak of in this video. It's true that disengaging from them is liberating. You let go - break that trauma bond - and their power vanishes. You are free to find yourself. It takes time and practice but it can be done. Thank you for expressing this so clearly.

Described my ex-spouse spot on. I used my energy to keep him happy and he kept on triangulating me with others to get me to do more. I didnt realize why I felt tired all the time. Freedom is your birthright.

I’ve known this specific person for twenty years and once her mask was truly off for me to see during the last few months of our relationship, I was horrified. I couldn’t believe someone I had such a lengthy and storied history with could be so ugly, petty and spiteful. She flushed literally twenty years down the toilet within a few months. Once she publicly smeared me on Instagram, I was done. There’s no coming back from something like that. Dragging someone’s name through the mud on a public platform is an unforgivable action and I’m working on my resentments/anger I have toward that action. Thank you for your videos. You share an amazing amount of insight as to what we’ve been through as survivors. 🙏👍

It can cripple you without sufficient inner fortitude. As you said, a couple of decades suddenly washed away can well and truly unsettle you. I went through it and it takes a while to overcome it. Let's be strong!

Spent 20 years in narc prison. When I left it wasn't a divorce it was an execution. I really thought if I left he would be happy and stop this behavior. Nope, it was on steroids. The peace and joy I have been able to scrape together is absolutely priceless. Losing everything was worth it. Stay in the race, stay strong, the finish line is an awesome place.

You just described my elderly mother and I. I have great compassion, empathy, had to go limited contact, then no contact nearly a year ago, to mind my mental health. But recently she's unwell , her back, so I gave in, I am going to call her and see what I can do to assist I need to carry on with my own healing and boundaries and life ❤

Excellent video! And great channel as a whole. I appreciate that you are looking to give us the facts about narcissism and practical steps to deal with it. I appreciate that you do so in a calm professional manner (even though you say you are not a professional) and are not "rage baiting" us. I've stopped listerning to many other channels on narcissism as I get incredibly re-triggered which is obviously not good for my mental health and healing. Your page is actually helping me heal.
