You see, when you use the Chrono Wave for TD Karax, you actually put Cracklings inside the Turrets, so the Hamsters gets some rest, making the wheel spin super quick!
At last, the reduced cost on upgrades, been saying this on the forums a few times, though it was as a mastery change instead of flat buff, still, this is so worth it, the prestiges also bringing the playstyle for the players as they struggled to do so. Karax is in a good place now, even if he still doesn't have much places in brutal+ somewhat, he feels way better to play. Now I wait for Mengsk, all of his prestiges are insane too. Also Alarak first prestige.
It originally was a mastery, but AB decided to swap it out for the current life/shields%. Now it's brought back, but with an additional 10% cost reduction(iirc, it was 30% at 30/30). Although I like that cost reduction is brought in(all because of the now life/shields mastery we have atm), I think that prestige 2 was an opportunity for AB to bring in Karax as an in-game hero.
50:15 Fairly tight timing, but if you could stall for another 8 seconds, your Solar Lance would've been ready again! (1 minute cool down is crazy!) . 54:00 You don't need Obs there. You can "eye down" where the blasts are coming from, and just use Orbital Strike to take out Banshee.
you know, when i looked at architect of war myself, i thought that only chrono wave applied to it i think it might actually be useful to spam a bunch of nexus in the base, just to have more chrono boosts to put on your monoliths
strictly speaking, static defense only has so much range, so after a point (once your frontline defenses become impenetrable, and any new photon cannons can no longer reach the enemy) every single additional photon cannon becomes a paperweight this means that your primary mineral dump is now obsolete, so instead you can start spamming nexuses in the base to buff up your pre-existing static defense
@@purpleisthesneakiest with the range upgrade, you can almost always put a monolith in range of the front line. The only map I can think of where that wouldn't be the case is Dead of Night. Also, on most maps the front line keeps advancing, so you can put more cannon outposts further and further up.
Wished his units were made more powerful though. Also, pretty sure what he lacks is area damage defensive structure. I wish there was an upgrade to make Canon attacks to chain and Monolith to be able to splash.
@@Karou812 ig so but not anti-air, also zagara has anti-ground splash bc bike launchers too I just meant generally speaking not a lot have splash and karax would be even more boring and op
Shh! I like my cheaper repair drones. Actually though, a good offense is a good defense. Killing the enemy faster prevents more damage than the repair drones would fix during a fight.
I don't even get repair drones, why on earth do u need them? they only heal life, not shields, so you already have repair beam for that... if they recharged shields tho...
Flynn Curtis but carriers rarely ever even get into trouble, carrier already have intercepts to tank damage, they rarely lose shields, repair beam already does the job of healing whatever damage does take place...Unless you want to use the carriers body to tank hybrids idk why you want care for this research
cheap gateway units are really fun, too. Sentinels don't go down and fast everything + warp in reinforcements and steal enemy tech units ... that stuff slaps.
that dosent feel right that the orbitals cant solo the objective i feel that with p0 full energy karax iv soloed a objective before in a rare situation where a mutation kills me and my allys army mid game and we still try
watching CtG playing karax, make me sure that other than turtle defence, karax is a bad comander, using commander like nova/tychus, vorazun, zeratul, ect can solo this map quite easy, seeing this hardtime when Ctg already show that great effort still not work that great.
Zeratul, Tychus and Nova (when learned how to play) are very easy + they have easy, just by having heroes comanders are much easier to play, Karax is still very good thou, u just max out solarite gathering as fast as you can then build your army, your Ally will just push u just support with Spear of Adun
Second prestige is not really good for noobs. The main issue is Karax has no static defense at all. That's pretty bad against terran with ghosts and nukes. You have to position your units on ramps and never use F2. (ofc you can also ask your ally for help)
Oh yeah same thing you do with Tychus but more extreme Ghost fishing. If you have good enough eyes to spot a little tiny red laser or flash when they shoot you can snipe em with a orbital. Alternatively a observer in watch mode at base could probably help too. Worst case scenario if you have no idea where it is you could rage lazer it's general direction with the giant beam around the radius of the nuke casting zone. But yeah i feel like they could still let him have 1-2 slow loading cannons. Sure most commanders with a -40% would be nuts, but it's on karax with a +30% so really it just lets him have just like a slightly 10-20% discounted army.
The AI prefers to attack units/structures that can attack back, so like Mazso said, melee units need to run around. Even ranged units usually move up to attack the cannons. Even without that though, Karax's cannon range buff is enough reason to put the lowest cost row in front.
