I just notice how young this cast actually feels. Hermes acts more like the youngest brother. And Persephone and Hades feels more like a caothic couple than a old/heartbroken one. This is what I love about musical, none is the same and is always surprise me.
True, but the musical story doesn't work if Hades and Persephone haven't fallen out of love. So even though they're chaotic, they're still heartbroken and dysfunctional
I saw this cast performing in Orange County back in August and they were spectacular. I really like Levi Kreis's portrayal of Hermes. Fun fact: When Persephone said, "Brother, I'll be bored to death!" Hermes really is Persephone's half-brother as they share the same father (Zeus) in Greek mythology.
I saw the touring cast in Orange County as well and I thought their Orpheus (not the actor in this clip) had a gorgeous voice, just like a flute. He really made you believe Orpheus' singing could stir the rocks and trees to emotion.
@@amynguyen527 There's something I liked about Levi's portrayal in clips, and I think that's exactly it. Almost like Anais wrote Hermes as a mentor figure, but Levi chose to instead embrace that Trickster God aspect of Hermes in the mythology.
I hope Levi reprises the role of Hermes on Broadway once Lilias White finishes her run. He did a fantastic job making this his own and would kill it at the Walter Kerr Theatre
First time I see this Hermes... WOOOOOOOOOW!!!! So much energy!!! That voice and the full performance... Just... WOW!!! I would die for listening this live. WOW. I can't recover from this.
I saw this group in LA and it was great. I was apprehensive about how this Hermes would be after being so used to the original broadway version, but he was great.
I caught it in Austin and I was so worried that I was going to be late, fortunately I got there just in time and I’m so thankful because the first song was the best, and it’s all because of Levi’s vocals!
Friends and I saw you as Hermes in December and you were phenomenal! The rest of the cast was breathtaking as well! Amazing show, can't wait to see it again when the train comes rolling around my way again.
I am not one who usually watches/sees something more than once... saw Hadestown three times this year and could go see it again and again - @LeviKreis is absolutely amazing, and has a gift that draws you in and won't let go - can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!
Saw this incredible cast, led by @LeviKreis, twice at the Ahmanson in May! Also saw the show with this cast for their Opening Night Previews at the Peace Center in Greenville, S.C. last October 2021. They are otherworldly, beautifully talented. Everlasting gratitude to @LeviKreis and the entire Hadestown company for this absolute GIFT of a show! ❤🙏🎭🎶🎭🙏❤
My friend the late Dan Eriksen committed suicide a few years ago and I got to see the song run through of this before it ever got close to coming to the stage - it was in its very early stages of planning Dan was a Lighting and Sound guy by profession - the name of his business was On location Productions - the funny thing is they told me Leonard Nimoy was sitting behind me at the run through and I didn't even realize it and never even saw him at all but I remember saying to myself at the performance I don't even like musicals or plays and all these songs are great and sure enough it's enjoying great success - if anybody was at that dry run through performance leave me a message or if you knew Dan Eriksen
