Oh my, Lex Luthor is so right when he talks about the living space they’re living in. This movie was made in 1978 and even back then he refers to how expensive it was to live in New York City. Imagine having an apartment that big even though it’s supposed to be 200 feet below the ground! I’ll take it!

A lot of people dismissed it because he injected some comedy into the role. For me, a villain who does nothing but hide in shadows and snarl is boring. A truly evil person who actually can show some likeable traits and cracks a joke now and then in just the right measure is more terrifying than anything else. I believe he did that well.

But still compared to current Lex Luthor in comics and movies/series, this Luthor is not that dangerous. I am sure that modern Lex Luthor is one of top 3 dangerous villains Justice League has faced alongside Darkseid and Trigon.
@McLarenMercedes
@McLarenMercedes 8 месяцев назад
@@daniellee773 That depends on your definition of "dangerous". Most people are scared of the likes of Putin and Donald Trump. Why? Not for their physical power but because they many millions of supports who see them as "great leaders" who'll stop at nothing to reach their goals. They also have/had large armies under their command as supreme commanders and have access to nuclear weapons. The power and influence on million of people is scary. Whatever "superpowers" the comic version of Lex Luthor has fails to see what any real life Lex Luthor would be like. A criminal mastermind who knows he can never beat Superman on his own terms. But he can outsmart him and exploit any weaknesses. The Luthor written for Superman the Movie knows that Superman's easy dismissal of any human villain makes him far too certain of himself (why wouldn't he be when nothing can hurt him?) which is how he cleverly maneuvers him to go straight for the kryptonite...

So deliciously devious. He's not full of envy to the point of Shakespearean like the BvS version, nor is he petulantly vengeful as he is in the CW, he's motivated by greed and vanity. They have a pretty cool hideout. Imagine how fun it would be to live completely in private in an underground train tunnel with a suite of house products and a pool.
