Thank you for the in depth review. I just purchased mine and I can't wait to install it. I was torn between this and the borla exhaust. Your review helped me a lot on my selection. Thanks again.
Sounds great man! Not gonna lie, been watching all of your videos for info on the IS-F. I've always had MR2/Celica/Supra but I want a car that is fast but still in the family and luxury. The IS-F checks all the boxes. Thanks for the videos. If you see a good IS-F under 100k miles for 20-25k let me know! I mean, I'm keeping an eye out (obviously) but if you see one, let me know. Keep up the good work! I'll watch your videos even after I get one! :D
Thanks. For that price and mileage range you’re probably looking at an earlier year ISF. Just keep and eye out on the car buying sites and even clublexus.com. If you find a decent one be sure to act fast!
Used ISF's are going for less that $30k. I've seen them for as low as $18k and I've heard of people buying them for even less. So don't count yourself out. You may be able to get one.
120k on a Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, or Lincoln is high and those cars will probably need a bunch of maintenance to make them reliable, but a Lexus/Toyota will still be I good shape at 120k. But, if mileage is really a concern for you there are plenty of 40k to 80k ISF's for between $21k and $25k.
Nice video and nice exhaust! Sounds really good and undeniably the best value in IS-F exhausts. I'll probably go with Borla myself...good value too and I like matching quad outlets/tips (just personal preference). Picking up 20+ whp with a simple catback, plus the improved sound, you can't go wrong with any of these exhausts!
Thank you! I would say the Borla is the second best value exhaust for the ISF. Also nice that you can get the RR-Racing Bazooka axle back portion of you wanna get crazy! 😁
No doubt! When hearing them next to each other to me the Borla sounds a little deeper. If you really want to go wild you could always put on the RR-Racing bazooka pipes since they’re made for your Borla.
Yeah I´ve thought about that^. The only problem is in my Country (Austria) the police is quite strict about tuning in general. So with the bazooka it might be way to loud🤔. But maybe i will give it a try😅
To solve everybody's issues of getting an exhaust but trip about the extra spacing behind the stock muffler tips and highway drone. Get 3inch black in color Cherrybomb Extreme mufflers(fits perfect sideways to coverup the hole, pair it with a magnaflow resonated tru x pipe 2.5inch as a resonator. Rest of piping at 2.5inch from magnaflow to cherrybombs. Super minimal drone and sounds mean as hell with no rasp. That is my setup now and love it. 😎
Cost for everything. Cherrybombs (x2): 50$ on amazon. Magnaflow tru xpipe resonator: 120-130$. Piping, hangers, and labor: 200$. Total cost: $480-500$. You wont be disappointed.
I’ve seen videos of it with headers, sounds similar to a Joe Z setup with headers if you’ve heard that. If you want to get the most power from your car then the tune and tuned intake are the way to do it, I’m fine with my current setup.
Hey man great vid. Was wondering if you could confirm for me that under the rear seats there is bolt holes for the middle seat belt. I intend to put is250/350 seats in but only if I can put a seatbelt for it. Thanks.
Im looking to buy this system and would like to delete the fake stock tips and attach (either welded or clamped) dual tips to each muffler. Is there a set of tips that wont be too long and has been confirmed to work with the X-Force mufflers? It sounds like its only noticeably louder at WOT. Is that the case?
emm cee - there are a few people that have added real tips, some threads on Club Lexus about it. It’s definitely louder throughout the rev range over stock.
How does the exhaust look from the rear of the car does it look like the Joez ,where you could see the pipes underneath? You can tell the car has an exhaust?
Nice video, I’ve enjoyed a few of your videos now. I just picked up a 2013 IS F 2 weeks ago and it had a muffler delete from the previous owner (everything else stock). The drone was terrible between 1500-2000 rpm under even slight load in any gear! I’m dailying this car and have a 2 year old in the back seat so I couldn’t deal with that. Took it to an exhaust shop 2 days after owning the car and put custom rear mufflers on which have gotten rid of the drone and the sound is much closer to stock now. But now I know in the the future I’ll go with the varex x-force catback thanks to your vid. I loved the flyby sounds and it seems from your comments that there isn’t too much drone. Question, does your catback system delete the centre muffler as well? So you just have the 4 cats after the headers?
Glad you like them. Yes, the Varex system should give you the best of both worlds. Check out a picture of the system online and you’ll see what it looks like.
Hey Andrew you know or recommend a good Performance Mod shop in orange country I can order my headers and exhaust to get installed? I appreciate any feedback thanks in advance
Hi, I actually don’t know any in Orange County. I’m more familiar with shops in San Diego. I bet if you asked on ClubLexus you will get some good leads on best places for install as there are a number of Orange County F cars.
Would muffler delete/reso delete and replacing the tips yield same performance vs spending $$$ on a actual exhaust system ? Subbed for more content bro. Looking at one of these isF for me next year. Toyota reliability 🤘🏼 and sleeper
I don’t think you would get the same gains as an actual exhaust system. When comparing the two next to each other you’ll notice the exhaust flows much smoother on an aftermarket system as the piping doesn’t have any sharp angles or spots where the exhaust is crimped like on the stock system. Also, cat back systems may include a catalytic converter delete which helps with power.
Have the X force with secondaries removed and have no complains cheapest exhaust out there for the car and sounds the best .. debating on removing the mufflers but scared it’ll be too loud
That’s subjective to many people but to me there’s some while in 8th gear around 2000RPM going up slight grades, not too bad though. Other than that I don’t consider there to be any drone.
I don't know too much about cars but are those "shots" at 6:43 good? I think it sounds awesome! What are they call? And is the car suppose to do that? It seems nice in my opinion :) like a gun or something lol
You won’t hear the intake as much as stock. I think the exhaust quieted down from the first week or so of it being put on and has remained the same. It’s been over 3.5 years since it was installed so it’s a bit hard to remember, maybe I’ve just gotten used to it.
Comin2gtcha lol since my wife is still in school for nursing ill have to wait couple more years before i can upgrade to a F plus having to raise my 3 kids on top of that will be hard lol
It’s louder than stock but I don’t think it’s annoying by any means. Your best bet is to find someone with a setup close to you and checking it out in person since exhaust noise is very subjective to each person.
Out of curiosity what does the Borla do better than this exhaust? From what I’ve seen there isn’t much of a difference in power gains between most of the cat back systems.
I would think you gain more power since you are deleting the restriction of the secondary catalytic converters. It also has a deeper more raspy sound. Weight reduction.
That’s subjective depending on each individuals tolerance. For me I find there to be a little drone at ~2000RPM in 8th gear going up a slight grade on a freeway. Other than that I think it sounds great!
Bro just do it you don't know what you're missing out on with headers you think the exhaust woke up the car the headers are the bigger portion to this motor you've seen pictures on clublexus of what the stock manifolds look like the motor is breathing through coffee straws compared to a proper set of headers..... like Nike's slogan just do it!! 👍
I hear you man..... but maybe you can start a header fund... 🤔 you never know might be able to run across a used set or run across some kind of creative way to get the headers most guys they get them their only regret is not getting them sooner
Great vid! Sounds great, follow you on here and Instagram, keep up the great work! I’ve got a Hayward and Scott catback with real tailpipes, cheaper here in the UK but sounds amazing. Check out my channel, got a few vids with it.
Thank you! That's a great sounding exhaust, I know of a few guys here in the states that picked one up. The exhaust sounds great in your videos as well!
