If I was in the market for a large limousine, I'd head straight to the Mercedes-Benz dealer and order an S-class. Like it or not, nothing else has the brand cachet of the S-class.
Simple, cuz it’s too expensive. Ppl that can afford it would rather by a mainstream luxury sedan (A8, 7 series, etc). Lexus used to be known as the most reliable and luxurious bang for ur buck, now it’s right there (price wise) wit the Germans.
@@BomberFletch31 You would be relived of a great deal more money than the Lexus. Then there is the reliability o consider. The cost of owning a Mercedes out of warranty that is full of tech and features can be eye watering.
This is not only a machine but also this is an art. Sharp treatments and japanese cultural touches in the design , takumi craftmanship , homotenashi hospitality is quite enough to highlight LEXUS LS........ Nice job Chasing Cars team....... 👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻♥️♥️
I got LS500 base model, 2021 and it is a wonderful car. I love it. It is fun to drive and better than 730iL. On the serpent road, 70 mph, you still have the confidence. On the straight highway, 100 mph, it is still solid as a rock, quiet. Uphill? 80 mph, floor it, it surged strongly.
Hello from Texas, I own a 21’ LS 500 and it’s absolutely an amazing car to drive and low maintenance. I have owned Mercedes Benz in the past and they are way more costly to maintain and the reliability is poop in comparison to Lexus. The Mercedes Benz build quality is garbage and gadgety. I agree, the infotainment is lacking in comparison and the controls are quirky but if your going to own a car like this long term, reliability is paramount and way better than MB and BMW.
I agree, I think it’s a far better car than any other brand and not just because of reliability. Lexus is extremely comfortable and nice to drive and it’s not flashy but decent and elegant which is attractive to me. I’m only 30 years old so maybe it was an older people’s car before but not anymore
A very handsome executive sedan with incredible resale &reliability. Excellent rolling smoothness & road isolation, though I miss the V8 engine. Nicely done Ponch. Cheers from Virginia USA 🇺🇸
Good review, however, I don’t agree with you that the touch pad should be removed because I think sometimes you just might need to do a little thing and don’t want to reach out to the touch screen.
Excellent review, Nathan. Lexus LS 500, what a beauty. Far better than the German rivals and I can say this with surety, buying a Lexus will result in worry free ownership for many years.
This car actaully hasn't delivered superior reliability scores per Consumer Reports, and others have reported the engine is extremely complex if it needs repair.
@@analysethis6061 I wouldn't go so far as to say it's unreliable. The Car Care Nut is a certified Lexus tech, and in his video on this car he flatly says he's heard the buzz about unreliability and that it's unjustified. But it is more complex than its predecessors, by far.
Excellent no nonsense review of the LS500 2022. I agree the ride is much improved with the much lower interior noise. The Hyundai G90 may be a competitive choice to the LS, however the unprofessional service environment is real!
Totally disagree with the centre console commentary. I get the hate with the TouchPad. But it is just ergonomically superior to a touch screen. Functionally it is lacking yes. But ergonomics...great. Plus look at the fingerprints all over the touch screen! Ghastly! Again in understand the hate for the TouchPad. But I for one will miss it sorely in the coming generations.
some time ago people hated the 2018 version of the lexus because it didn't have a touchscreen then why when there was a touchscreen, they hated it too, instead of using the lexus trackpad it was more difficult?
This is a performance luxury sedan with V8 engine and it is also the most *reliable* luxury car and also *the most beautiful* sedan I’ve ever seen. You did a great job, Japan! 🇯🇵
@@chasingcars yes I did watch that it was 7 months ago & a 2021 model. There are more improvements for the 2022 model so looking forward to that test when there is a car avail. Also those LS F rumours are not going away either 🤞
In the States at least, the ES is absolutely not one of the best selling Lexuses. In fact, it is by far one of the slowest sellers in the Lexus lineup, and very badly lags the sales of the S Class.
Great video. It inspired me to go test drive one locally. I love everything about this car, except two things. One, those two "horns" at the top of your dash over the steering wheel look awkward. It makes your driver console/command center look small and cramped into that tiny screen. I'd rather have a full and flowing dashboard that uses all the screen space possible for a car equipped with this much technology. They really should find somewhere else to put those like down on the gear shift/phone charger area. Two, if you get the glass inserts in the door panels they look cool. But the faux wood paneling leaves much to be desired. I know its not REAL wood, but at least try to convince me a little more Lexus? I'm paying $80k for the damn car. Otherwise, masterful job on the details of the car.
It needs a V-8 and need to increase the HP which not competitive at all with other vehicle in its class 415 HP is old fashion need to add third turbo to boost its muscle to 485 HP .
These cars sell like hot cakes in the US. we know these cars last forever and the resale are extremely, high .....they hold value more than any other car
Love Lexus. I had 3 of them: is, gs and ls. But now I wanna cry each time when I see LS model. Why? No V8 available. This is so wrong. V6 is okay and should stay but such executive car deserves nice, powerfull v8 engine. Sorry lexus.
I can't prove it, but my suspicion is that Toyota used this low-volume car as a test mule for this engine before installing it in the new generation of LX/Land Cruiser SUVs and pickup trucks.
My Brother who is CA(Chartered accountant) got LexusES 300h 2018 model driven (77k), he bought BMW 7series Diesel (In India) 2020 driven (32k) cause he want to be a part of The Crowd, and after almost a month he got only two problems first Engine Sound changed and another got lot's of friends in Service center 😂😂 Reason is they Are just endless Money pits, the problem with the Germans are they painted their Bad things Very Good that you can't Register it.
V6 bi turbo vs V8 in the LC500. Meh. Bad idea. And turbos never age well. Even if it’s a Lexus. I would buy the other LS450 just because of the engine. I look for longevity
Just Like This All Full Size Sedan is: BMW 5 Series,Audi A6,Mercedes E Class,Lexus ES 350,Toyota Avalon,Nissan Maxima or Kia Cadenza All Midsize Sedan is: BMW 3 Series,Audi A4,Mercedes C Class,Lexus IS 500,Toyota Camry,Nissan Altima,Honda Accord or Kia K5 Just Happen The ES is Larger Like Avalon
Why are you not there doing this presentation? He must know or got what you don't have. I understand everything he says. Remember this is not English class. Thank you.
